  1. Past hour
  2. Very dull and thuddy; no resonance to it. It would fit an old school set fine, but the other 3 strings had more life and presence than an old school set. So one could hear the change in timbre as one crossed strings, which was very off putting.
  3. Agree that it doesn't look like a FireGlo, my guess would be an AutumnGlo as suggested, but that is a guess. Looks like an early/mid-80's 4003 with the split scratch plate, but it looks like it's in fantastic condition. Enjoy!
  4. Hi , can I ask in way was your E string different from the others
  5. Is it a Washburn?
  6. Curiosity got the better of me and I bought a set of the extra lights. The G, D and A strings were fine, in fact rather nice, but the E string was like it was from a completely different set of strings, which made the set unplayable. I complained, genuinely believing that the E string had not been made right, it simply couldn't have been intentional. I was sent another set. Same problem. Maybe played in a certain way, and EQ'd in a particular way, they would be ok, but to me that is not how a set of strings should be - there should be cross string consistency full stop. I have put my TI Flats back on.
  7. Just bought some strings from David ,it was an absolute pleasure to deal with him, great communication and quick delivery, top man, thank you very much, Tony
  8. Yes, as Wateroftyne says, this is a correct bridge for the Precision Special. These also did not come with gold ashtray covers. I had an '82 P Special in white which yellowed like the one on pg 1. My uncle was the original purchaser. When he retired and gave it to me, I bought gold covers direct from the Fender accessory catalog.
  9. Oops, edited now. Thanks for letting me know.
  10. Today
  11. The bass weighs 3.9kgs or just over 8 and a half pounds - without the covers fitted.
  12. I was lucky and got one of the rare Bass Synths for sale here in NL. It's still in the post so I'll probably receive it by Tuesday. Can't wait!
  13. Recently I bought the Eich T1000 (Pride) amp; check the pics below). When I try to connect the two cabs (112 XS -8) to it (using the genuine Eich cables), the connection is very poor; sometimes there is no sound at all, and when I twist/move the plug (when it is still in het chassis) the sound comes -crackling though- through. There is also more "play" between the plug and the left socket compared to the other (right) socket on the cabs. The problem is less persistent using the other (right) socket. Therefor it seems to me that the (left) Speakon socket (all Neutrik) is worn out or something. What do you think I should do here? Thanks in advance for your reply!
  14. One of the best P money can buy today. And Alane is great guy to deal with.
  15. Cracked Actor - David Bowie
  16. Overload Guitars in Italy do them too. https://www.overloadguitars.com/basses
  17. Limelight - Rush
  18. Let Me Role It - Wings
  19. Does anyone know Rich77 in real life and can get a personal message to him?  He's not responding to BC PMs or email and hasn't logged in since mid November.  His graphite neck is ready to ship.

  20. Not ideal perhaps, but the lobing you get with a typical HF above the LF driver arrangement tilts the HF output downward too. I first saw/heard it done by Henry Kloss in his office at Advent. He used a pair of Advent speakers per side, the upper speaker flipped upside down, creating a W-T-T-W alignment. This was in '72, two decades before another colleague of mine, Joe D'Appolito, perfected the M-T-M speaker.
  21. We are still making them. There's one slot left for Batch 3...lots of interest off Facebook this week but noone has pulled the trigger on the last slot yet. Batch 4 won't be started until February due to CNY.
  22. Aaaaah this is super cool! Please tell me you’re still making these. I’ve wanted a DIY Cutlass for many years!! I have a 1992 EB SR4. Would I need to order a different product, or would this work?
  23. I had a BB734 previously so happy with the few and vibe overall.
  24. Great first show of two this weekend at the lovely Trading Boundaries venue in East Sussex, fairly local for us. Roy and Rob the sound guys are great and always do us proud. Fantastic sound out the GB Spitfire /puma/LFsys Monza set up. Very receptive audience as always, nice not to have to break everything down, just take my basses home . Looking forward to tonight’s one now . Happy Christmas everyone! Xx😊
  25. Could all law abiding Basschatters keep an eye out for this bass stolen from a mate's local pub in Harlow this week please? It was the pub's bass used by all at their open jam nights. Unfortunately, the manufacturer isn't clear from the photos but it should be recognisable, especially if offered for sale online in the near future. Any info, please direct message me, many thanks.
  26. Play for today. The Cure
  27. I always said I prefer the sound of a vintage electric bass and your MM might be the oldest ever!
