  2. Superb Andy, great to see things moving along for you guys. This was one of THE best threads on BC. Dave
  3. I Got You - Split Enz
  4. I do sometimes wonder whether the younger generations would bother with vintage basses in the future. Will they buy something from the usual big names such as fender, and just pick a bass because of the colour and perhaps weight? Some brands like Warwick for example , don’t seem to be in fashion at the moment . I could be wrong of course . My corvette ticks a lot of boxes in a good way . However, basses that look like tables are a bit marmite . The one I have is the weight of a buffalo ,but fine when playing with a strap, I listed it on here a couple of times but decided to have it tuned low and keep it . Metal style basses with pointy necks are also marmite etc . more headless basses are com8ng out now , but status and old steinberger will hold their value and increase imho
  5. Shame on you! 🤣😂🤣
  6. Personally I bought my first double bass about 11 months ago after playing electric for 30 years. Loving it but I find it takes time and allot of practice to sound good. I don’t find it easy to switch between electric and upright yet. Used to have a NS Wav eub, didn’t sound like a double bass, or an electric, didn’t feel like one in terms of the physical part but it did have its own (good imo) sound and I could switch between them easily. jonny
  7. Playing by ear is not formally defined. Is it being able to pick up songs without a written guide? Is it being able to play something straight off from just hearing it? Is it being able to find the key and join in random songs? Is it being able to identify various intervsls by ear? Or all of these; something else; any one of these or a bit of all of them?
  8. I know Danny and he's a nice guy! Unfortunately, he's not a big lad and I can't imagine him wanting to get involved with anything potentially as serious as this. It is one thing to get annoyed and call out a YouTuber over ripping other YouTubers off (and then to benefit from the resulting online publicity), it's quite another to get involved in a case going through the criminal courts in the country he lives in, with a guy who is a career criminal and who has been known to make physical threats!

  10. Yuk! That is one horrible overpriced bass imho .
  11. Decent rehearsal with the Fort Sons.
  12. Edit: accidentally set price to £25, should be £20. Mint condition Van Damme Curly Cable with Neutrik Jacks. Right-angle to right-angle jacks, total length: 2.5m. Shipment at buyer's expense or collection in East, North, or Central London. Thanks for looking.
  13. Not necessarily. The case could be dealt with at Magistrates court but referred to Crown court for sentencing if the judge considered he didn't have enough oomph at his disposal. We can live in hope.
  14. It’s well known to my browser history too 😅
  15. A small mixer or an OBNE Signal Blender pedal would do the job. l had two issues with my OBNE: i. it is quite a tall pedal, ii. leaving an unattached lead in one of the inputs really upsets it.
  16. that's the numbers i recall
  17. Yes, I did a basses against a fence pic about 20 years ago. Nick Smith also did the same. Could have been either that you remember....
  18. Thank you - I can't find a Bossa bass anywhere in the UK. I have another Bossa guitar that was Brian Monroney's (Tom Jones etc) and it's my #1 💛
  19. My old bass tutor has a DB , maybe I should call over to him and see will he give me a run on his DB?
  20. They wrote a sing about that.
  21. I have a pair of Eden 10in speakers taken from a SWR Goliath Jr v1. These were the first SWR Goliath Jrs that were (apparently) built for SWR in the USA by Eden using Eden drivers. They are too heavy to ship so if anyone is interested I'll bring them along. FOC. See you Sunday.
  22. The fact that it's at Magistrates rather than Crown Court suggests that , should he be found guilty, a serious prison sentence is probably not on the cards.
  23. Mint condition Hercules GS200B Foldable Guitar Stand. Fits in your gigbag, works well for both electric and acoustic guitars and basses. Shipment at buyer's expense or collection in East, North, or Central London. Thanks for looking.
