  2. Oh but the inclusion of the No Parking sign in the shot, while a car is clearly parked there, aims to signify the rebellious attitude of The Real 1950s Rock 'n' Roll as embodied by the young artists of the time and ... [cont'd on p.97]
  3. In with the guitar tech. Had a look at the preamp and I think Stevie Wonder fitted it under Ray Charles instructions. Sounds phenomenal right enough when it isn't playing the radio.
  4. It’s definitely the lightest stingray 5 that I’ve ever played!
  5. This is a great photo 👍👍👍
  6. We supported the band Space last night at The Station in Cannock. The sound engineer was a great kid, didn't roll his eyes at volume levels or anything, he just worked around everything; the footage I heard sounded a good mix. Space are a nice bunch of people, not sure how many are from the '90s lineup as it's not my forte, good players though and people with music taste that was broad. They went down very well, their audience were pretty receptive to our set also. Still enjoying the 8x10 fridge and LaBella flats. Freezing cold load out last night! No gigs for a few months now. I may try and make a case for click track syncing up the samples and whatnot from seeing Space last night. Our drummer would be fine I'm sure. Will see what the others think.
  7. Exactly what part of "NO PARKING" was hard for you to edit out in MS Paint, @Silvia Bluejay? 😉 Oh, and great pic. Love the Zodiac estate - - a model I didn't even remember.
  8. There's some Youtube videos of how they appear. Mrs Zero watched one of them (can't remember which now) and said it was accurate.
  9. @LeeBassman The original tuners cover the singular hole of the Gotohs. The Gotohs shave about 7oz’s off the original weight. Original tuner in the last pic.
  10. Like a curved rubik's snake of cyan and magenta that starts small and expands until it disappears outside my field of vision..
  11. Today
  12. Not seen one before. What do you think of it
  13. Thanks Dave. It's a Markbass Kimandu (Richard Bona signature model)
  14. While In Roland on Denmark street this week I bumped in burniss travis, bass player for likes of robert glasper. Cool dude. He told me he uses this exact pedal. His tone is killer. GLWTS
  15. I hit the same wall with mail merges once my list grew, and moving to a proper email setup saved my sanity. What helped me was getting some guidance on segmenting fans and automating the boring stuff; I once worked with https://luckybrand.agency for a small project and picked up a bunch of practical tricks that kept my newsletters from breaking and made sending big batches way smoother
  16. I'm scaling down my bass collection and so letting go of this Vintera Jazz bass in fiesta red. Bought in 2024 as B stock from Bax. As a vintera it has reverse tuners and the original strings are still on. It's in great condition, I only gigged it a few times. There is a little mark on the top of the headstock as shown and the truss rod adjustment needs the proper tool so I bought one and its included in the sale along with a gear 4 music tweed case. Cash on collection from either Ashby or Hull area.

  17. Great ABG’s these, and that’s a great price.
  18. Thank you very much for your interest, folks. The cases are now SOLD.
  19. Well, it's either that photo (apologies for the quality, crappy cheap mobile photo) or The Zodiac Shot below, in which drummer Dave manages to rock both the leopard print and the classic car vibe.
  20. The SBMM branding was launched in 2008. Like you I prefer 19mm spacing but somehow I'm all over the neck on my Ray35 without as much as a thought.

  22. When I bought my BBPH I bought a used EHX Bass Clone cheap. It gets close enough to Hooky's sound but just as a chorus pedal I really like the crossover function where you can set the frequency that the effect starts, so have a really hard chorusy top end but leave the low end relatively clean, keeps it from getting too muddy. Good to see you're a fellow JD nerd. I've got all sorts of Hooky related/inspired bass stuff. I got a him to sign my BBPH and Eastwood Hooky Pro a couple of years ago.
