  2. And the calm is restored, along with my faith in the EBS Stanley Clarke. After watching a couple of videos on YouTube by recognised pro recording engineers, and conversing with you lovely people on here, I came to the conclusion that, alongside the aforementioned series/parallel loop issue, I was really running to much additive tone on both the SC and the Ashdown. So I went back to first principles, turned all the tone controls to there zero position, and started from scratch using subtractive rather than additive tone changes, just as I would when mixing FOH. The result, the best tone I’ve had across fretless P and EUB both ‘on stage’ and FOH in a long long time. Still got a rare flash of the post peak LED on the SC, but it was literally that, a rare flash. I’m sitting here typing this feeling slightly stupid. When running FOH sound this is my go to technique, and I seldom need more than a 3db cut to tame any wild frequency. But playing bass, It’s so easy to keep adding and adding more and more tone boosts across the frequency spectrum until all you’ve actually achieved is a very loud obnoxious mush. Going back to first principles has opened up my sound and by subtraction, rather than addition, I’ve retained all of the positives with none of the negatives.
  3. Working perfectly and no marks. I’m sure you don’t need a rundown of how class these are but any questions do feel free to ask. comes with a protective case, box, original power…. All the good stuff. I’m moving to an Hx stomp so if you happen to want to part ex one of those, an origin cali 76 or OC2 style octave then shoot me a message. cheers!
  4. Both No Tom, and Vintage & Rare buy from an auction company called Gardiner Houlgate https://www.gardinerhoulgate.co.uk/departments/6/Guitars and then whack the prices up on whatever they buy. You’ll find some really nice things there, but the prices... oof! Don’t know about Charlie Chandler nowadays, I haven’t visited his place for some time, but New Kings Road Guitars often had cool gear in. I’d always stop by there if I was anywhere near the area. To the OP: There’s a load of places in the North East and North West, I’ll ask my pals who’s worth a trip. 👍
  5. Anybody using a Jack lead from the TX and popping the NUX in a pouch or strap mounting ?
  6. Actually, I've sort of just gone thru this.... had a custom fretless made and it's so good I don't want to play anything else, so I've got rid of all the mediocre sh!t in my collection.... which means I now only have one bass!
  7. At the end of my last ever gig with my originals sludge metal band, someone asked us to play Millionaire by Queens Of The Stone Age. At this point we were half packed away plus we don't know how to play the song plus we don't do covers. Plus we were set up two whole tones too low (the song has lots of open string based riffs). Plus we had to get off the stage so the headliner could set up. Apparently none of those excuses were good enough and we were unreasonable.

  11. OOH........ This has their early version of the Power Squeezer. Very handy indeed. I've recently purchased the 30XL for guitar and that, with it's Power Squeezer is a REALLY handy amp.
  12. But the problem is, after one bottle of whisky, you will have forgotten what decision you needed to take!
  13. Would consider a trade against a Stingray or Fender American Professional II Precision but sale very much preferred.
  14. Thank you, it sounds great very versatile and mega light without being made of a soft wood like Pawlonia. Spanish mega bassist Vincen Garcia has just taken delivery of exactly the same bass. https://www.facebook.com/100064255916873/posts/846707654147757/?mibextid=rS40aB7S9Ucbxw6v
