  1. Past hour
  2. Yup I reckon so, he also pretended to be in a police station when he phoned me, well the 'policeman' phoned me. He even sent a pic of the policeman behind the desk. Obviously I knew it was bollocks and asked for the police station number so I could call him back to confirm it was real. Apparently that station didn't have a direct dial number 🤣 Hope he gets the book thrown at him
  3. They even just look cool! All those controls, the styling, fantastic.
  4. Now reduced to a Basschat exclusive price of £150!
  5. I wish our local B&Q did that! It’s an hour’s drive into Norwich for one that does.
  6. I asked the Duck AI. That and the deliberate deception of officialdom and previous fraud conviction added up to 3 to 18 months custodial sentence.
  7. I'd go head & cab over a combo every time. Speakers now are seldom too heavy, leaving spare hands/bags for selecting different heads depending on needs - the class D heads are so light you could even fit a couple in a backpack and then choose on the night! If money isn't a problem pairing a Barefaced cab with a Aguillar Tone Hammer head would cover everything and be very portable and light.
  8. +1 Really enjoyed the tunes this month 👌
  9. It is a shame that the Aberdeen store has closed as the only other guitar store only stocks a limited number of used instruments although they do have a very repair and set up service. I would also have to say that Kenny’s in Aberdeen had a very poor selection of basses. They more or less catered for those who play six strings. There were several times the store just didn’t have what I was looking for, so it’s not a great surprise I’m afraid.
  10. I had a pair of these Delano’s made for a new bass with both the same width as the bridge pickup. They also have raised pole pieces under the A and D strings for cambered string placement. They are used but as new. I’ve decided to go back to the HE model that I’ve used for many years on my other basses. The price includes standard U.K. postage..
  11. So I have a few quid sat in the bank, burning a hole in my proverbial pocket, don't need anymore basses, considered a new fx unit, but definitely have that covered as well, so the next thing is my amp. Currently have an Ashdown MAG 210 (badged as a Muzik Peroductiv AMP), but at 22kg, it's a bit heavy and a bit awkward to lug about... but it sounds great, even though I only use the power amp section. I've had a brief look on t'interweb, and there's a couple of amps that have caught my attention, the EBS Magni 502 is one that has really grabbed my attention, but it ain't cheap. One other is the Ashdown Original EVO 1x10 or 1x12, light, but would it be loud enough for a rock band? Another one to consider would be the trusty Fender Rumble 500... or just stick with what I have, but where's the fun in that?
  12. I'd imagine the false/forged documents are the serious issue?
  13. You didn't search that much @Swills , it literally took me 5 seconds to find the wiring diagram of this pickup (just remove the blue heat shrink tubing to have access to the 4 wires and certainly a fifth ground screening wire): It doesn't matter if it's a 4, 5 or 6 strings bass, the wiring is the same and yours simply has a metal cover. https://sandbergshop.gambiocloud.com/Sandberg-M5-Bridge-Powerhumbucker-Pickup-201.html?language=en
  14. Yeah, I was tending to think that way as well, but back on page #37 there are a list of charges that look very serious, plus the case is being delt with in the Crown court. As a poster remarked above, "Fingers crossed"...
  15. Totally right @tauzero : https://www.sandberg-guitars.de/basses/sandberg-florence-bass-series/
  16. And I wonder what happened to the Crowdfund cash (over £243k reported at the time) which was raised just over a year ago. It’s a shame. I’ve bought a few things from Kenny’s over the years and they always encouraged you to try out the instruments.
  17. Crying In The Rain - Everly Brothers
  18. Heard about this the other day, seems like another music shop has hit the wall, Kenny's Music, which has a few branches across Scotland. Had been into their Aberdeen and Glasgow branches through the years. They did have an online presence, but it looks like that's been taken off line.
  19. 2x Headrush 112's Surface marks but overall good condition, one with a cover. I've used these for home practice, standalone amps for gigs and bass monitors while playing in a rock band and they've been great, but have my eye on setting else. 20. Comfortably Numb - Pink Floyd
  21. Not in theXR18, but I use a dBX DriveRack that can auto eq the PA in a room using pink noise, however you can’t really do this at your average pub gig as I don’t think many landlords would be happy with you pinking their bar full of punters whilst you move a reference mic around the three positions the DriveRack requests. I’ve used it to set up a user presets (one with subs either side, one with centre subs, one with no subs) that cover our usual setups, then select the correct one as a starting point, and correct for any room imbalances using the main eq and my ears.
