  2. I've been buying this guy's records for 15 years. I actually spoke to him for a while at a gig by the Monument in London. Quite a laugh! And since, we are entering the mod zone, I would have to reserve a shoutout to Mick Talbot.
  3. I am in desperate need of an office chair - see other thread... I've re-read the rules several times and don't think it counts as a musical accessory. Its primary purpose will be an office chair... 👀
  4. Standard 80s-style P-bass tone, to my ears. Amp mostly clean, compression, bit of a midrange boost, hint of chorus. The guy is obviously miming in the video (nothing is plugged in!) and I concur with BassAdder60 that the recording sounds like a pick is being used.
  5. 😊👍

  7. “3-band EQ with sweepable kids” sounds very handy. Can it do, say, a toddler and two sullen teenagers?
  8. 😲 I personally know this fellow!! Nice guy, very into authentic organ playing and does "spirited" live shows.
  9. Finally put all the bits together (minus the top coat) and plugged it all in. By some miracle, the dammed thing works, not only does it work, but it sounds really good and it's really loud, at least in my dining room The corners are held on with double sided tape as they are supposed to come off later The rest of it is screwed together properly. The Warwick is held on by my "patent pending" mounting system. As can be seen, my "roadie", the CFO, has demonstrated that the Warwick is indeed securely held. I actually tried it in all orientations and it's rock solid. It can also be mounted on the back, but those rails aren't on the cabinet yet. No fears whatsoever it's going to fall off at all. I plugged a Strat in first and it sounds fine, I'm sure a purist might argue it's not a full range speaker (and it's not), but it sounded fine to me. Next up was my headless bass and that sounded fine as well. I did wind the volume up a little bit then and it's bloody loud. No way could I play this at any volume in a small room. I'd certainly gig with both bass and guitar with this. At small volumes it's also fine. The Warwick needs to be setup for guitar or bass with the tone controls. but I have to say the speaker sounds really good. Far better than the Ampeg Rocket 108 to be honest, though it's got significantly more invested into it than the practise amp has. The little rack to the side is a home made one with a Behringher Centaur overdrive, a Mooer compressor and a EHX tuner. The overdrive is not for the bass though. Now to build the second one for a little more volume. Rob
  10. Ooh, thanks for the heads up @paul_5! I can't believe this already has a veroboard layout. Good to hear it turned out well, and it's now on my build list for the new year!
  11. Thanks fella, nice to nerd out and talk bass!
  12. I'm well-aware of most of these basses being used by her, but whenever I think of TW I picture her with a Hofner for some reason, possibly because that's what she was playing when I saw them in '82 (I think ?) as well...
  13. Don't Stop Me Now - Queen
  14. Don’t see many of those around.
  15. Yep, I don’t really use the grittier sounds but the SV can give me a nice deep clean/edge of breakup tone, which is why I’ve kept it.

  17. Really nice little distortion pedal, cheap as chips but sounds great. Barely used, always kept at home. Price includes UK mainland postage.
  18. Boss ODB-2 distortion pedal This was resprayed by a previous owner so it's just a plain green with none of the boss decal/writing visible ont he main pedal, though the writing on the controls is unaffected. Works perfectly, served me well at gigs for many years. Price includes mainland UK postage. These seem to go for £50-60 usually, so I think the price reflects the...odd aesthetics.
  19. You can have a fliptop battery holder rather than having to undo screws to get to the battery. I know that Warwicks after around 1990 had a clip-on rear cavity cover but that's a bit of a faff. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/256081542485
  20. Musicman Sterling 4H Bass USA & Original Case Lovely example of the earlier Sterling model (not to be confused with the Sterling imports from the East) I picked up in a trade on here this year. Made in the US in 2000 it has a recessed neck plate, three band EQ and slimmer body and neck. This is a rarer version with a black sparkle finish and matching headstock. It comes with original pearloid scratch-plate and a plain black laminated one. It weighs 3.9kgs so a nice lightweight example of this bass. Lovely balance and set up. It’s very easy to play and currently strung with D’Addario 40-100 nickel roundwounds. No issues other than a couple of hard to see dings. Great bass, only selling as it is rarely used since I prefer maple boards. Pickup preferred but I can post in the UK at buyer’s cost. I’ve reduced the price so no offers. No trades other than possible p ex on a Ric 4003.

  21. This. Playback of a festival I did with dead chromes making my usual burpy mid tone and you'd think Id been playing an Alembic with fresh rounds....Clangy and thin... how do they do that?
  22. Big Muff by Electro Harmonix in perfect working order but poor cosmetic condition. There are lots of these pedals out there in different forms - this is the big one! Not one for tiny pedal boards. I've had it since new for 25 years and almost never used it. It works perfectly and sounds great, but as you can see there is considerable corrosion to the case from age/storage. There is no corrosion inside or any damage to the innards and it works perfectly. Comes with the nice big wooden box and paperwork. These seem to go for about £75, so I think £50 is fair given the cosmetic condition. Price includes postage to mainland UK.
  23. Mooer Ensemble Queen chorus pedal (mini format) in excellent condition. No longer needed and selling all my current pedals. £25 plus a few pounds delivery. £29 to your door! Get in!

  24. Indiscipline - King Crimson "I repeat myself when under stress, I repeat myself when under stress ..."
  25. Boss Tremolo in good condition, more or less unused, has never left my house and I think only been plugged in about twice! Casing has a couple of scratches and some light corrosion just from age - I think it's been sitting on my shelf for more than ten years. No original box or packaging. Price includes postage to UK mainland.
