  3. As new still sealed in packs, 3 sets available £12.90 per set including postage. I have been trying various brands of strings on a number of basses, whilst these are very nice I'm going to Dunlop's for my fretted Warwick. To my ears these seem similar to Rotosounds, maybe not quite as 'zingy' initially.

  4. I'm repeating the mantra "I love my 500, I don't need an 800" Great price, and localish to me. I don't need it 😂

  7. Should have put this up earlier. Sold a Markbass cab to Paul last Sunday. Very smooth transaction, great to deal with and a top bloke.
  8. Thank you for the likes, it all helps me on the road back! This really is a very supportive and worthwhile community!
  9. Aye it is me after a small stone nano but the one with gun metal grey and red chassis. Appreciate the heads up. 👍

  11. Super tempted as I’ve been looking for one of these for quite a while now. Only problem is I fear I’m too superficial and just can’t get on with the black finish… I still keep coming back though. Good luck with the sale - it would be great to hear your thoughts on the bass!
  12. MXR M85 bass distortion. Great distortion pedal in good condition. Velcro on the bottom. £90 delivered. Any questions just ask 👍
  13. Best amp I’ve ever played. Can’t afford, probably don’t need, but boy I wish I could get it! GLWS

  15. Another one from the Tribal Tech 'Spears' album, this is Gary Willis's bass part for the tune 'Island City Shuttle. Lots of weird bar lengths. Remeber, when you writing it down, you are recording what you are hearing not what the tune actually IS. The performance is what matters not the dots. So, if you disagree with my take on the differing bar lengths it doesn't make it wrong. It just means I have grouped it in a different way. It's the noise you make when you are playing it, not the dots themselves. https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/island-city-shuttle-tribal-tech/

  18. Boss BCB90 plus effects as shown. All individual effects have their own boxes. All high quality patch leads and power supply integral to case. Case has never left the studio. All in great condition. Price does not include postage and happy to package up. Bargain price if you’re looking to set up an effects system. This covers most needs. May separate, message for individual prices
  19. That was me.Totally given up on them now. Regardless of brand (including TI Jazz Flats) it sounded like a thick blanket was placed over my cabinets compared to using rounds. I can't see the appeal but it's all personal.
  20. One place where G&L have found a bit of a niche is amongst cash-strapped Tool fans. Out of the box, they probably have the closest thing to a Wal sound of any production bass. Obviously the electronics are very different, but they have a very similar character in the high mids. So a lot of Tool fans have been gravitating towards them as it gets them "close enough" to the Chancellor Wal tone.
  21. Have there been any sightings of these new amps in the wild yet? Asking for a friend.... Rob
  22. In the 1920s Ford introduced streamlined production lines which meant that employees only had to work 5 days a week. This left them with free time at the weekends to play bass guitar or run around sports fields, etc. Currently most of us could work from home on a 3 day week and still be just as productive, but inertia is preventing that. A few companies will lead the way once the old guard have lost control and retired. In the 1980s we had computers that meant all those ladies in typing pools getting RSI could go and do more interesting and productive work. I think AI is just another tool that we will be able to use in the same way to make things easier. People will move even less and get fatter. The people with skills to operate the AI tools and repair the machines will earn more money.
  23. The port size was increased from 4" to 5" some time ago, while the lower crossover point is a recent development, made possible by the adoption of a more powerful compression driver. These are small, incremental improvements, which the average user is unlikely to notice. The sound of the cabs hasn't changed and the larger port will only make itself felt at extreme volumes. The changes from Silverstone to Silverstone II were enough to warrant renaming the cab. That's not the case with the Monza - or the Monaco for that matter, which has also benefited from incremental improvements over time.
  24. Externalisation. The company board of directors thinks of the shareholders first and foremost, and the costs of the board's choices, as much as possible, are to be taken by society. They call this "sound thinking". In this, they trust the workers of other companies - companies that are less good at externalisation as they are themselves - will earn enough to buy these good and services. The larger the company, the worse of an externalisation machine it is. IMHO it's lame thinking, incongruous as you say, but that's the world of the myopic bean counting investors and decision makers.
