  2. Man, I Feel Like a Woman - Shania Twain
  3. I have the MarkBass LM IV and with the newer 58R series lightweight cabs it sounds very transparent Older MarkBass cabs sounded woolly to me or dark perhaps in tone. I’ve had EICH T900 and TE1200 and the LM IV is as good in tone and can go warm / vintage with the old school control
  4. Hi, welcome
  5. Got this in a trade on here recently but it’s just not got much use. Between the green Russian and the grey stache that I own I have my fuzz needs covered. This one is two big muffs running in parallel, one of them has a standard tone control, the other has a mid boost/cut. Certainly a lot to play with and a lot of sounds to be gotten out of it! No original box with this but will be packaged securely. Price will include postage in the UK

  7. We welcome refugees from talkbass
  8. I may be well drifting into the BS territory but my way of thinking is as follows: Dodgy input socket? Is its ground connection ok? By that i mean ground connection on PCB at the input socket terminal up to the end of the lead/cable once that is plugged in..Eventually the continuity of the ground all through the preamp.. Input lead/cable acting like an antenna - picking up some stupid signal - here i would take whole thing (amp) to a friend’s house to see if the same issue persists. But then i believe you must have been using different amp in the same room at some point so it would be pretty obvious if the other amp was doing the same. And obviously I would try different lead/cable .. However, if you can send it back for a refund then I would do that given that any further investigation may render the guarantee invalid..

  10. Spent a lot longer than I should have stripping down the neck today. Made a right old mess!
  11. The progress so far, I’m using the behringer compressor because I had a voucher to spend at cex, and i can use it to split the signal for the di and power amp. The nomad would be a nicer solution to put in the fx loop instead. I’m also looking for a tuner.
  12. Hi, I found my way over here when I was looking for an alternative to Talkbass. I am a professional player who has recovered from neurological problems and am getting ready to go back to playing out full time. I love classic rock but I also like R&B and disco on the side. My one and only love is my red and white Jazz with flat strings and foam. Never was a hoarder or much of a gearhead. I don't sing or double at all, I am strictly a gold star bass player. I can't wait to get back out there.
  13. The drummer concurs.
  14. Thank you - I can't find a Bossa bass anywhere in the UK. I have another Bossa guitar that was Brian Monroney's (Tom Jones etc) and it's my #1 💛
  15. I had a Flamed Sycamore custom lined fretless 4 string back in early 80's but moved it on. Wish i had kept it. Cost me £740 new. Happy days. 😂 They do make some wonderful looking and sounding basses. Don't get much better than WAL. Dave

  18. A lot of effort (and some expense) goes into making an efficient and quiet cooling system. Cooling is a system, not just a bunch of parts thrown at the problem.
  19. @casapete beat me to it - Fujigen (the factory which made it) 2407, branded Antoria for UK distributor J.T. Coppock & Sons. We had one turn up a couple of years back & I contributed what little I knew back then. There's a serial number on the bass neckplate - can't quite see it but the second 2 digits are the year, likely '76 or later.
  20. I wouldn't take it to just any amp tech. You want a proper enthusiast.
  21. Not a bad night. Worked through arrangements for two new numbers, one new, the other just as a change of style. The new one took a while but it was all good stuff to sort the ending and work through arrangement of links between verse, chorus, etc.. Then we were looking for a different way of finishing the set for the next gig - landlord (who plays) has the occasional sideways comment of 'always the same songs'. There are certain standards, but we do change the set around and regularly add in new stuff, added to which the guitarist writes the sets and keeps track of what we play and where so things change around. We have, however, been running through variations of: Don't Stop Believing, Don't Stop Me Now, Final Countdown, Living on a Prayer for a while now. Works well, and all bangers for a crowd up for a dance and a sing but it's good to mix it up sometimes. Difficulty is shifting stuff around the set like that in 1) finding equivalents to replace them with, 2) adding some intros; and 3) if they are being moved back in the set not peaking too soon...sticking them into encore options seems a waste. So decisions, decisions that ended up with a suggestion of finishing with the newest song we'd been working on near the end of the evening and quickly sorting tweaks for intros. Runs the risk of falling apart putting it there as its first outing or just being met with blank looks and a killed evening, so fingers crossed!! Good news was that the Tokai Hardpuncher that I acquired recently was bang on it. Sounded great through the studio's Ashdown head / Eden cab combo. Great solid fundamental tone with lovely zing and bite on top of that. It's slightly strange that after years of active 5's I have come back to loving my first J (albeit a FrankenJ with an active pre) and now a P copy with noiseless EMG's. Hipshot d-Tuner/Extender now added to both as I love those.
  22. I think the pricing is at an odd point. Not enough to be premium, but too high to be budget. Just kinda sitting in no man's land.
  23. So I’ve had half an hour playing with mine essentially as a stomp-box. I’ll have a better look tomorrow. One thing - my phone Bluetooth won’t find the anagram on the Darkglass suite (iOS). Bluetooth is ‘on’ in the Anagram, but it just won’t find it. Going to wire into the laptop tomorrow and update it
  24. Link removed. Most genuine news stories don't need to break up 'full story' or 'watch video' unless they are trying to evade spam detections. and the only places I can see on the net with that story point back to that same place, often with AI images and no details.
  25. My thoughts exactly. It's so obviously made-up tripe (the post. I wasn't silly enough to click the link). Has someone hacked Greek's account? He usually posts pretty sensible stuff.
  26. I'm A Man - Spencer Davis Group
  27. Pleasure. I like the look of that Yamaha. Their PA stuff is excellent these days. They bought out Nexo, a high-end PA brand, a few years back and they've obviously incorporated the tech' into their own stuff.
  28. Next ... the Bunsen Honeydew bass. With 'meep' onnthe headstock...
