  2. Blackstar Unity Elite 700H bass head complete with the Blackstar FS-12 Five-Way and FS-13 Two-Way Footswitches and original padded Blackstar bag. The tape on the footswitches is just ordinary masking tape and easy to take off, although just about everyone who have these ends up putting some kind of tape on as reminder 🙂 Obviously, also comes with the mains lead and the 2 x pedal cables/leads. Just not used much really, so happy to move on. I think the amps new with the two-way footswitch is about £600 and the five-way footswitch is about £90. Prices includes postage.
  3. I've an inherent distrust of units that rely on wi-fi to operate. Added to which, the band that this will be used with will effectively want to plug into and leave it to me to sort out and monitor mixes will be set once and forget. I like the idea that the A&H has auto functions which will set and monitor gain settings and feedback suppression (especially as I'm playing on stage when 'stuff' might need sorting).
  4. Since software shouldn't require a shipping address there ought not be a problem. And if it complains about your browser location you could always try a VPN with a US IP address.
  5. Seeing The Foo Fighters in Glasgow on the 17th. My niece is supporting them and is putting me on the guest list. I couldn't name a Foo Fighters song, I suppose I should listen to The Best Of The Foo Fighters to get me up to speed 🤔
  6. They're quite different, aren't they (Elixir steel vs nickel I mean). I accidentally bought steels last time and really like them. I find the steels quite like the Third pickup in mine. Glad the MIJ is going well.
  7. I’ve got that left thumb arthritis thing too: a right pain (literally). At the risk of teaching you to suck eggs: another thing to look at is the nut height. Quite a few basses seem to come with it set far higher than necessary, making the first few frets require quite a lot of squeeze, especially with heavier strings. It also affects intonation.
  8. That's lovely! I've never heard of the brand before, that is really nice, and thankfully not just another FSO!
  9. These days it makes sense to get a mixer that can be used with a remote device (IMO). I also nearly got an L12 but felt the XR18 was going to be more of an upgrade for us, especially going forward with IEM’s.
  10. I had one and it is a fantastic sounding cab but I must confess as I am getting older, the weight beat me.
  11. 1 thing I changed though. The bass came with Thomastik Jazz Rounds on my request but I found them too thin sounding and too flexible for my playing. I replaced them with D'Addario NYXL's and now it's perfect! Deep sounding, lots of mids and a very brilliant high end. All customizable with the preamp of course.
  12. Lucky enough to have played this very bass a few times and delighted to say that it's a fine instrument. GLWTS
  13. It's hard to believe but lots of high end, popular musicians prefer they instruments depending on acid, alc, her, coc sujestions.
  14. I'll take it You have a msg
  15. Bought Providence DBS-1 Dual Bass Station 2Ch Preamp from Paddy, arrived the next day, well packed, 5***** deal from a 5***** guy. 🥳
  16. Yep. I've not owned a 'full band' PA for 20 years but researching it this week, I can get a laptop sized mixing desk for £500-£800 that can do stuff that Pro studios spent £10,000's on 20 years ago!
  17. Used for a couple of months ..including all leads box ..&uk postage

  19. This. Finally, great designers are providing the bass community with fantastic options. Excellent sounding gear at every price point. It's a great time to be a bass player.
  20. Just bought another bass of Chris ..awesome bass and service as usual.. thanks mate 🤟
  21. 1x Dingwall P Tone pickup and 2x Dingwall Super Fatty II pickups (one is labelled N for Neck, one is B for bridge but this is just output rather than a tonal difference) All three are 5 string pickups and will give your Dingwall combustion, NG or custom bass more gain and punch. 4 wires to enable series/parallel options either via wiring into the 4-position switch or via dedicated series/parallel switches (which is solderless via plug connectors). Cost new for these 3 is just over £400. Selling for £190 posted to mainland UK. I’m not keen to split unless I have buyers for all 3 so for now this is only for sale as a set of 3.
  22. Hello May very well regret this, but this was a 40th birthday gift to myself. And now I have to admit that I just don't play it as much as I thought I would and it is a tad ridiculous that I own this! So reluctantly exploring moving it on. So here goes This is my 1977 Fender USA Mustang Bass. Bought from https://www.vintagerareandretro.co.uk/ about a year ago. Bass is well played, the usual nicks and wear and tear from a bass over 46 years old. The headstock seems to have taken the biggest hits! Volume and tone controls work correctly and as far as I can tell the tuners and bridge are all original. Nice playing bass, just a bit wasted on me Also comes with hardcase Based in London and would be looking for pickup only and of course you are more than welcome to try the bass out Cheers Adam
