Linus27 started following Ampeg Opto Compressor

For sale is my Ampeg Opto Compressor. Fully working, in mint condition complete with box. This is a wonderful optical compressor which is very musical and just sprinkles some sort of magic on your tone. I already have one of these on another pedalboard and they are so good that I bought this second one for my other pedalboard. I am no longer using that pedalboard and so this is now up for sale. These also work brilliantly with fretless bass and I wouldn't dream of gigging without one. Based in Camberley and collection is welcome or it can be securely packaged and posted.

In this case it was a pub. Fairly narrow long bar room packed with punters.

The other obvious advantages of the FI over the MXR: - input gain - 99 presets, in banks of 10 (sure, I get that is overkill for many) - two stomp switches - display The FI v4 VIP has a pedal-board friendly format not too far off what the MXR delivers My tuppence worth, if I may, if Andreas wants to stay in the game with the advent of the MXR Two obvious improvements to suggest: - improved display. Boss stole a lead on this some while ago - please check their 200 series => can label patches with words and not just numbers. "Chaka Khan" is so much easier to remember than "#06"! - load patches 1 - 10 with popular cover band patches Marketing: Why aren't there any decent YT clips of bass-players using the FI v4 VIP live in a band in the way that Paddy has just posted?

I’ve only just found this thread and felt I should jump in. I’ve got a through-neck Jazz 5.

Jazz numberrrrrr nine? I think? I've stopped counting.

Selling my trusty ‘reggae’ bass which has served me well. Being headless Its a true lightweight 5 string at just under 8lbs and sounds thunderous with the GHB flats on the bass - can be changed to rounds if preferred. The upgraded pickups to Aguilar makes this bass really sing - whilst I primarily used it for deeper sounds it does other genres exceptionally well with a great slap tone. The action is buzz free and very low and it plays and sounds really well. Comes with the Ibanez gig bag. Just simply a great bassbut surplus now and is waisted being a wall ornament. Maybe interested in a Fender Lyte bass, 800w+ head in part trade or a Markbass NY151 cab otherwise I'll let this go for a bargain £625 with the Aguilars or £525 with the original Bartolini’s fitted. Stickers are easily removable although the BMW one is very rare 😉Price includes UK courier or will knock some off for collection from Plymouth.

Same experience with the Fullertons. I tried a 58 P bass, I genuinely thought the more recent Classic MIM 50's were better. For me, if you want an original but on a budget, beat the 80's MIJ reissues

Linus27 started following MXR Bass Octave Deluxe
-
For sale is my MXR Bass Octave Deluxe. Fully working and in mint condition but no box I'm afraid. Comes with two types of octave, Growl which is more like the classic OC-2 style or Girth which is a more smooth deeper style. Both very usable and can be blended for a mix of both. Also has a mids boost/cut switch. Collection is welcome from Camberley or can be packaged securely and posted.

Gator 6U rolling rack case
Happy Jack replied to Happy Jack's topic in Accessories & Other Musically Related Items For Sale

Very decent piece of rack gear, equally suitable for studio or live use (I've used it both ways). The two multi-way cable clips on top are there by self-adhesive stuff and will remove. I found them useful enough to choose to leave them there for the new owner. The original box is present, as seen in the photos, but not the polystyrene inserts. I'll use bubble wrap for postage. velvetkevorkian started following HX Stomp/Mission SP1-L6 issue
-
I picked up a second-hand SP1-L6 (that's the expression pedal with toe switch) and I'm struggling to get it to work correctly with my HX Stomp. Basically it seems like I can get either the expression OR the FS on the tip. e.g. here the toe switch works as FS4 While here, I can assign exp1 in my patch and see it working But I don't seem to be able to get either on the ring I have a double footswitch which works perfectly as FS4/FS5 with the same TRS cable, so my guess is either the switching inside the pedal isn't working properly or I'm somehow using the wrong cable? I have tried a variety of other cables I had kicking around without any joy. Can anyone suggest anything I've missed?

It's this one: https://www.gak.co.uk/en/tech-21-sansamp-rbi-bass-driver Currently racked with a Powersoft Digam LQ2804 which is also listed for sale. If someone buys both, then obviously I'll chuck in the Gator 2U Shallow case as a freebie. All tested this morning and working perfectly. Extraordinarily, it even comes with the original packaging. Collection from Harrow HA1 or possibly the West End would be easiest and safest, but £15 P&P will get it to anywhere in Mainland UK.

I recently picked up a new jazz bass... MIJ active deluxe LTD. Beautiful to play and lovely tone. A nice companion to my Japanese Stingray. I like Japanese stuff, alright?

So here's a game I play roughly once a year. I list a whole bunch of basses for sale (really not wanting to sell any of them you understand) and once a couple have actually sold 😩 I let the remaining listings slide down below the radar. Until the next time. I'm not selling because I'm desperate for the money, and if I was John Entwistle then I'd just keep the lot and have an ever-expanding collection, but the reality is that over half my basses get played very little, if at all. Common sense says that at least some of these lovely instruments should get back out in circulation. I have no interest at all in trades. Replacing a bass that doesn't get played with a different bass that won't get played seems like a complete waste of time and effort. On the other hand, many of my basses are pretty non-standard or left-field and therefore hard to price, so I'm not absolutely wedded to the figure stated. I'm in Harrow HA1, close to Sudbury Hill on the Piccadilly Line, and I gig regularly throughout Beds, Bucks, Herts & Middx, with occasional forays into Surrey. Pickup in person is always preferable to despatch (from home, or a mutually-convenient pub, or at one one of my gigs), but I've had nothing but good experiences with DPD so if you live more than - say - 50 miles from Harrow then that's an option. Right ... you want non-standard? Then non-standard you shall have. Is this the only Danelectro twin-neck in the UK? Dunno, but I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case. File under "there's something you don't see every day". Basically someone bought two Danelectro Longhorn basses, sawed off the bits they didn't want, and glued the rest together. Or something. The tunders are the original, completely shitty design. They work as well as any other Danelectro tuners but are a big step down from a Fender or similar. From this angle, it looks vaguely Klingon to me. Shortscale, obviously. All original, all in good working order. This comes with a custom-built, fitted hardcase.
