I don’t about vintage more like something you find in an archeological dig! The copycat is awesome tho!

I always wondered about a QR code inside the t shirt collar, with the QR taking you to bandcamp where people can then enter a code (again somewhere inside the t shirt) to download a copy of the album. Kinda similar to the little cards you get inside some vinyl to download a free copy of the album. But this is more a free download when you buy a t-shirt. Jonny

I see the dl=1 images on firefox on the PC, I see big broken squares on the mac on safari. -
I`m in agreement with the "support bigger bands" theory, better to try to sell to 500 of someone elses fans and make them your own, as long as it`s similar music styles there`s a reasonable chance of picking up sales as a result.

cheddatom started following Headsticks New Album

I'm on drums in Headsticks but our bassist is awesome. He's playing a Fender American P into an Ashdown Rootmaster into a Barefaced stack. Impeccable timing, tasteful fills, a proper bassist's bassist. The full album is out 1st June but there are a couple of singles out already. Here's God Song featuring the legendary Steve Ignorant in the video P.S this is recorded, mixed and mastered by myself and I always welcome any constructive criticism

Anyone bought a cheap (Chinese) neck off eBay?
MrDinsdale replied to NancyJohnson's topic in Bass Guitars
I’ve got a modified Schecter p bass which sounds incredible, however ive just come to terms with the fact I like jazz necks better. It’s a shame because its a beautiful slim neck profile, reinforced with graphite rods etc. Tempted to try a cheep one however no body makes any with the right square heel shape. Would need quite a bit of adjusting. Not to mention loosing the heel adjustment. -
Today I tried the transformers in position, listening on headphones for hum in the OT while the PT is powered up. As expected, setting them at right-angles at opposite ends of the chassis (as planned) produces virtually no hum. If I rotate either transformer 90 degrees, or move them close together, there is audible hum. I also measured the PT voltages off-load - with 243V Ac from the mains I get 6.44V AC across the heater supply, 387V AC across the HT, and 42.7V AC across the winding that I plan to use for the bias supply - all good! I've been working on the layout, including a rough mock-up of the eyelet board. The bias circuit will go on a separate board above the PT.

JohnDaBass started following N.O.S. Korean Spector neck thro' Legend Classic
-
Arthritis in my thumb has forced me to only play short scale basses so I am continuing to reduce my collection of basses. So, to gauge the level of interest: - Here we have a genuine N.O.S. Korean made Spector neck thro Legend Classic. ( Tonepump Jr ) The bass is literally brand new it has never left the house and played once or twice a year. It was bought as a collector’s piece and has lived in its Spector case in my music room since purchase. As New Old Stock it would be the buyers joy to have a brand-new bass needing the protective film taken from the control cavity cover. The serial number suggests that it was produced in 2017, probably one of last batch of Spector basses manufactured in Korea.

Yeh, same line-up for almost 14 years now! I think the main reasons we've done relatively well are 1. We're all pretty flexible with our jobs so we can finish early to get on the road and take random time off etc. 2. Our frontman makes and sells merch for a living, so in the early days, he'd sell the merch to the band on credit giving us time to build up cash. He's also constantly changing designs etc. so merch became a big thing for us, and brings in the cash to fund the physical product. We've been keeping the diary pretty clear the last year or so hoping for more support slots to bigger bands akin to BigRedX. Unfortunately it's not paid off for us. The one offer we had was a full tour for £80 per night. We're too old to be sleeping in the van so it'd cost us circa £500 a night for hotels, fuel, food etc. Worth the risk in some opinions but we didn't take it in the end.

Rosie C started following For sale: mandocello in GDAE with Fishman electrics
-
For sale is my lute-style mandocello. I bought it from Thomann just over 2 years ago. They only come in acoustic, so it had a visit to my local luthier where it's had a Fishman pre-amp fitted, along with K&K pickup. Also the neck was shaved and re-shaped, and they found a crack in the neck which was repaired. It has a flat walnut back. Although sold in CCGGDDAA tuning, I found the C strings too muddy for rhythm so it's currently strung as GGDDAAEE with D'Addario strings. The sound box is quite large and of all the mandolins I own, this has the best resonance and best tone. It comes with a gig bag, also with a 'hard' case - not rigid, but fabric covered polystyrene type. Collection only - I'd want the buyer to try it first. But I'm happy to travel to meet you at a convenient place - Hereford, Gloucester, Swindon, Taunton. More information from: https://www.thomann.co.uk/thomann_artist_mandoloncello_c_wln.htm
-
We're getting there, but there's not the gigs or money being offered for us to be out every weekend at the moment, plus our synth player has family commitments. That means we are trying to stick to gigs that will put us in front of new potentially receptive audiences. However we've made enough from T-shirt sales in the last 6 months to pay for a decent run of CDs when the album is finished.

Another reason to connect to a computer is to back the Stomp/device up. That way if it breaks, gets stolen, whatever (yes it’s an outlay) but you can just buy another and be up and running with exactly the same sound as soon as you restore your backup. No two amps will sound exactly the same (which is a good & bad thing). As with other comments I do tweak things using a computer (it’s easier to get into some of the settings) but got caught out when I started with modelling by being at a gig and not being able to tweak what I wanted. I would add that I don’t think any of the punters thought it sounded bad! I’d still like to get my hands (ears!) round the Global EQ but I have enough problems with bass, middle & treble on an amp! 😂

Anyone make Ampeg B15 head clones in the UK?

Cheers all, I've reached out to Dan 👍 -
it's certainly a young man's game, there's a lot of truth in the saying "if you've not made it by the time you are 30 you're not going too" Our latest guitarist is 22, brings the average age of the band down to slightly under 50 🤣. it's hard work gigging all over the country, I guess that's why there's personnel changes invovled with some bands, I don't think Headsticks have had that problem have they?
