  1. Past hour
  2. Thanks - I agree it’s truly a great playable jazz bass
  3. It depends how vocal they are. The problem is being guilty by association and being tarred with the same brush. I have a couple of 'responsible postions' in the local community. I've cancelled a contract with one provider who had a director who organised a protest at an asylum hotel.
  4. Thanks for confirming @Hellzero - that review sounded off to me as well.
  5. Hey, everyone I'm hoping I can get some advice about the freshly installed pickups on my bass. Here's the situation: I ordered a set of The Duke PJ pickups from Tonerider and had them professionally installed along with a pro setup and a Graphtec nut at the local custom shop. The technician called me and said that there was a buzz coming from one of the pickups because it was too hot for the built-in preamp. It's listed as "Ibanez Custom Electronics 2-band EQ". He tried throwing a resistor on the pickup to cool it off, but it didn't make any difference. I brought it home and did a few minutes of testing and it seems that with the blend knob all the way up I'm getting a pretty bad buzz. I've attached a recording if that helps - Open E string moving the blend knob from 100% right to 100% left. Here are my questions: 1) I'm considering an Artec SE2 preamp because it's cheap. Any good? 2) Apparently I can make the bass passive, but it'll take just as much effort on the part of the technician to do this. Pros and cons here? 3) Could it be something else I've overlooked? Thanks in advance, looking forward to any advice anyone can share Attached a photo of her with my guitar too, because I think they make a cute couple. Pickup Blend Noise.m4a
  6. Hi, using my trusty scales, it weighs in at 4.2 KG, which rounds up to 9.3lbs Not sure but it has Bart pickups, which is the same as the later models e.g. SR5005. I would guess late?
  7. Loose string tree or maybe a loose screw in the bridge somewhere?
  8. Cracking amp and a price that makes you wanna do this face 🥴 Class A/B = proper tones!
  9. If you have two bodies, few @Kiwi necks, few pickups, and two electronics, there are already LOTS of choices. Add a painting and hardware scheme, and we can talk about a custom. A SHELL yellow P body (chambered or light swamp ash), an unlined MM neck, a J bridge and a humbucker neck with coil-tap, black hardware, V/B/T/B. Where to find one? Available in 3 months? I could seriously consider one. If @NancyJohnson sources pickup routings, I could source electronics and pickups myself.
  10. Hey, everyone! Long-time reader, first-time poster. I'm Brim, I recently bought an Ibanez SRMD200 (medium scale). She's Candy Apple Red and plugged into a NUX 8BT when not plugged directly into my PC. I'm really new to bass and hoping to get some advice from more experienced players. Cheers
  11. Thanks. I really can’t stand the BBOT even though I know it works ok. Just looks so naff.
  12. I think I’m going to give the FI v4 a go listening to those - there’s some excellent sounds there, at least I can get hold of one of these 😁 I like the Chaka Khan ones on the playlist especially. Tbf I have heard of multiple people that the tracking on the v4 is outstanding
  13. Been there, it’s infuriating isn’t it?
  14. Don't know who wrote this, but it must be another amp or maybe the mini one or a truly bad instrument plugged in and maybe a bad cabinet too... The other half of the bass duet was using a GR Bass One 350 head coupled to a GR Bass 112H and Wi was using a GR Bass Combo 800, tone wise they were very similar and both transparent when flat, but for some it could mean dull if the bass plugged is dull, lacking some brilliance and depth as it's the down side of a transparent amp... I've owned a few GR Bass heads, cabs and combos over the years and they are not what the description says.
  15. Yep, 2ch/1RU and only secondhand, but they made heaps of them and I've owned many and never had one fail. Great units, I still have a couple of the C models in my rack.
  16. I asked a question and slagged no one. Feel free to keep you asinine comments to yourself in future, and to imagine how blunt my reply to you would actually be IRL.
  17. @Hellzero saw this user review for the One 350 on Thomann - would you agree with any of this? ”The most important criterion, the sound, and unfortunately it's not very spectacular, I primarily lacked transparency/presence across all frequency bands, somehow the overall sound just completely lacks brilliance and depth, the whole thing was somehow very dull, that's how it was.”
  18. Fired by WhatsApp. I discovered that when I saw I was deleted from the band's WhatsApp group. The Band leader didn't bother to tell me, but I wasn't surprised as he is a narcissistic a*hole and that's putting it mildly. I have to admit to a certain amount of relief that I didn't have to deal with him anymore!
  19. Used, in great condition except the zip has a tendency to do what Pedaltrain gigbag zips have a tendency to do. Velcro already on, plus a tiny bit underneath where I had a power isolator. Price is posted to mainland UK. Please forgive the upside down pics 😆

  20. Crumbs thats super pretty
  21. They weren’t compared to the SVT we compared it against but that’s not a fair fight. 😂😂
  22. Today
  23. @Hellzero thanks! I’d also looked at the GR One manual but couldn’t find that bit, just the reference to the studio mode for the higher models. Being able to turn the fan off is certainly promising.
