  1. Past hour
  2. Just replied. Kids destroying house and my mental sanity 😂😂 send it shortly. Thanks
  3. Well it was more like this afternoon, Cider festival. This right here absolutely sang today 😎🏁
  4. "Join a band" they said. "It will get you closer to the ladies" they said....
  5. I worked this out this morning, after years of unhappy “drive” searching… My suggestion is to also try a compressor with extreme settings (high ratio, 100% wet, above unity output) - as an effect rather than tool… The extreme compressor gives the type of “saturation” I like… lots of clarity & raw balls without being weak/oversaturated/weird midrange/low end roll-off/biamping/etc I’m going… Bass - Compressor - Sansamp - Power Amp So really I’m using the extreme compressor to drive my preamp - which gives another great suggestion, the Sansamp BDDI, great for Ampeg SVT style “always on” grit The big muff deluxe bass was the closest to happy “heavier drive” I did have… but now it’s either not needed or the compressor pushes & enhances that even more. Hope this madness helps others, good luck!
  6. Last Thursday I saw Hawkwind at Chepstow Castle... epic. A local band had a great extended spot in the crowded beer garden of the pub next to the Castle for the 2 ½ hours before the doors opened. Onebof my bands had that spot booked for next Thursday with Terrorvision at the Castle. Our bl got a new job and neither of my other bands could make the afternoon setup time. 😭😭😭😭😭
  7. I shall be heading up north (Lancs, Cumbria, Durham and Yorks) next week if that's any use to anyone?
  8. Groovy Movies - The Kinks
  9. I think probably the shop I spent the most time in was in Canterbury, where I went to university. A place called – I think – castle street music, or something like that. It was a guitar shop on castle street, and businesses in Canterbury tend to go for pretty straightforward names. It was called County Music - a lovely shop, good staff, a decent selection of gear for a small outlet, always happy to match online (GAK) prices.
  10. Likewise. 🤣
  11. That is one seriously nice rig
  12. When you’ve been bootlegged - at a gig Knock Off were playing someone turned up in a bootleg t-shirt of the band, a knock off of Knock Off if you like.
  13. My brand spanking new Barefaced THREE10 arrived just after lunch yesterday and within 6 hours it was on stage for a Nirvana tribute gig. It sounded glorious with the Ashdown ABM600 and the '79 T Bird Bicentennial. Perfect.
  14. Been having a bit of a Don Carlos weekend going through many of his albums, here’s a few that have stuck with me
  15. Thanks both - really useful!
  16. Kick Ass - Bryan Adam’s
  17. Go on then @BlueMoon 😉, I'll add the oldest musical thing I've got. That is in really good nick for 50 years old. Well looked after!
  18. Blimey! That’s a blast from the past. Clearly still remembered for more than More Than Words…😉
  19. Crikey, I'd forgotten some shops used to have metal shutters even then, hopefully deterring the thieves.
  20. Today
  21. lol. I have naturally good timing and a good early. Shredding like a king… wasn’t gifted with that. I try to say it’s cos I at a think pbass neck but I’m only kidding myself lol.
  22. I'm just letting off steam. I've had some bad luck/poor decision making with buying cabinets. First was a TC Electronic K212, which I love but can't find a matching cab for it. I decided that I'd sell the TC, and buy another pair of matching cabs. I got an Orange OBC115, which I absolutely adore, but now I can't find a matching cab within a 5 hour drive, and the updated cab is over £800 RRP. I'm frustrated with myself being stupid (and poor). I'm just ranting. I can't even sell my k212....nobody wants it!
  23. Ive literally put out a wanted post for the genzler 4 on the floor. I think it will complement my genzler Magellan 350 combo. I want a tad more warmth. I’ve heard great things about it. Just the waiting game 🙄
  24. First Bass Owned: Tanglewood Warrior (that bass was passed around most of the bass players where I lived at some point). 'Go To' Bass: Schecter Exotic P4 DIY modded with Turner Multicoils and Lusithand NFP. 'Your' Bass: Yamaha BB1024x, recent addition but just instantly gets the sound I need for 90% of occasions.
  25. Extreme + Terrorvision at Halifax Piece hall. Terrorvision always s great live bank. Extreme still great aswell. Bass player Pat Badger very underrated. Often overshadowed by Nunos virtuosity
