  1. Past hour
  2. Great sounding bass - GLWTS! Really like the recordings by the way.. Singer has a great voice, and that's a fab version of 'Time Has Told Me'! 👏👍😊
  3. Blimey. 48 hours coiled up in a bow of oil?! Seems kinda extreme to me. But then I just had to replace a string today, because of an outdoor gig on a rainy day. Maybeq I could have saved it if I had whacked it in a bowl of oil immediately after playing.
  4. *PRICE INCLUDES UK POSTAGE * Wicked pedal! Tracks beautifully. Only selling as I’m now using multi-effect unit. In great condition (I may even have original box…can’t find at the moment m). Does an octave below and/or above. Also has an independent boost effect. Blurb here: Octavius tri-tone generator has 4 controls LO OCT, HIGH OCT, MASTER MIX and BOOST. LO OCT knob lets you set the volume of the lower octave signal produced by the pedal. HIGH OCT knob controls the volume of the higher octave signal produced by the pedal. The balance between the levels of these 2 knobs is what creates your particular octave-divided sound. Experiment with your mix, and you’ll be amazed at the variety of effects you’ll get. MASTER MIX knob lets you set the overall volume of your low and high octaves compared to your direct signal. Use the BOOST knob to control the output of your octave-divided sound. The boost function lets you dial in a solo level, whether the overdrive circuit is activated or not.
  5. According to my Vernier it's 44.4mm.
  6. I bought these for a project that never happened, used but in good condition, £90 £70 including delivery to UK addresses
  7. I have a few Hornet plugins so I thought I would check out 'Autogain Pro'. Yes, it looks interesting. At today's exchange rate and the sale they have on at the moment, I got it for £3.80!
  8. Genuinely think this should be in a player’s tonal chain. Took out on a Jazz/Funk gig and it was smooth as butter!! Almost has me changing my mind…..just too much a luxury with the other stuff that I own and use!!
  9. Updated pics to show: *Swapped the castors/wheels to slightly bigger but much better quality set. Easier to move without trolley. * Resprayed spk ‘mount’ face (from white to black) using high quality/tough product as the white paint was flaking a bit. This has improved the look and protection. Loaned recently a fellow bass player (who was in a spot) and he raved about the quality of this combo. Actually said it had ‘better’ tonal options than his beloved Mark bass separates🤫🤐🤷🏾‍♂️😎 Shamelessly bumped for more views…
  10. First you want to test each driver that it A, hasn't failed to a open circuit by putting multimeter on DCR ohms. Should measure somewhere from 3 to 14 ohms. Less than 3 I would suspect failed short circuit which would explain the amp going poof. B, still makes a thump with 9v battery. The DCR measure is a little less than the nominal impedance for the driver. That will inform the choice of wring scheme. Given your substitute amp has way far more power than you need it might not be a bad idea to go high on the cab impedance wiring, to cut down on risk of blowing it up. Eg 4x16 ohm can be 16 as a series parallel instead of 4 ohm parallel. 4x4ohm can be 16 all in series instead of 4 series parallel. Your pjb box may have had the amp taking up some internal volume? Probably not enough to upset the tuning if you block it off nice and good.
  11. So apart from a HVAC filter that is still to be delivered, the spray booth is finished. Constructed from 18mm MDF with plans generated by ChatGPT, an adapted dj light stand for a jig, a used hydroponics extractor fan off eBay and a Mr Bezos led batten light. The duct tape is not holding it together but just some extra sealing on the panel joints as well as glue and screws. The baffle protecting the extractor filter from overspray just slides out so I can change the filter easily. I am hoping that this will make spraying easier, quicker and yield better results. I will look to support the hoses better so reduce the angles at the extractor fan and improve airflow. I was also not worried about the interior look as it will soon be covered in paint lol. I just need something to spray now……..

  12. Today
  13. Dave , What color is that bass? It looks like blue burst. Daryl
  14. The neck is narrowish near the headstock. Bit jazz bass style. Yes, great tonal options and punchy.
  15. I'd snap this up but my finances are not so healthy these days.
  16. Thanks you for the compliments. I have just weighed the bass and it is approx 10lbs
  17. I actually had a blinding one. I’ve got a job interview tomorrow and the stress is getting to me. Partner and I decided that I needed to get out tonight so I went to the engineers arm in coalvile for OM night. @Nail Soup has visited. When I got there I explained to the hostess that I wasn’t sure if I was getting up but she gently pushed me into sweet home Alabama with her and another guitarist which went quite well, she then decided to do Dreams which went better than I thought it would as I’ve only ever played along to YouTube on both tunes I was just taking bass off when the next performer came up and asked the guitarist to stay instead of using a backing track. She then asked me to Stay on as well and do a song I don’t even know. When id stopped hyper-ventilating the guitarist gave me the chords and said “just wing it,they are all so pissed they won’t know”. So I did … Teenage dirt bag (another first: I used my five string properly and started on fret 5 to get the E, I’m starting to avoid open strings) sire v7 5 string sold to me by some serial rogue called @lee650 And a zoom b2 on ampeg patch shoes ? Brown. Next. That is all I know
  18. Is this a thing to do? My viola da gamba has natural gut strings but I never oiled them, so I checked it out and found it's not normal but some folk swear by it: https://www.joshlee415.com/blog/2019/7/28/oiling-gut-strings Almond oil recommended in another post.
  19. Flem (yes, I know that's not the way you spell it)
  20. Final price drop, now £1600
  21. I’ve had the 4 and 5 of these. Marvellous basses.
  22. Since developing arthritis in my fingers I’m playing a lot less and thus am moving on much of my bass playing kit, keeping just a few essentials. Up for sale are a few of what I would say are my higher end pedals. * Peterson StroboStomp Mini - £SOLD * Darkglass X7 Ultra - £250 * Darkglass Alpha Omicron - £115 All in excellent condition (note the AO has some scuffs on the under side). Prices include insured delivery inside the UK. The StroboStomp and X7 ultra have their original boxes, the AO does not. No trade offers please.
  23. GainStage Pro didn't win me over - but it was a freebie, so hey-ho. There's a great little plugin by Hornet (It might be called AutoGain Pro) that offers the option of selecting what you actually want your output to be and it does the adjustment for you. (It's not a limiter)
