I The only time I don't bother to lug my gear in from the boot of my car is when I turn up at the open mic practice studio/venue and see a GP7 or if super lucky, a 12 by contrast I played a smaller stage at Guildfest the weekend before last. We sounded great up front as we had quality PA support and a great sound guy but the provided amp was a 100 watt Orange combo and while it sounded great fully cranked for the punky stuff ... it had no clean headroom at all the gain had to be up at max and my compressor squeezing the hell out of it to audible on stage . I've had my eye on this pedal for a while (I loved the Chunk stuff!), and the builder just started accepting pre-orders again. And now, here it is! The only thing that has held me back is the distinctive lack of demos. Don't suppose you want to give some shaky phone cam footage to show just how close to the original it is? Assume you're not looking for any trades?

Hello everyone, Having upgraded both my touring and backup boards to Cioks power supplies, this is now surplus to requirements. It has recently been serviced and re-capped, and everything works well. It comes with a useful amount of standard 2.1mm pedal leads in both short & long lengths, including the Voodoo Labs 18V adaptor lead, and a pair of mounting brackets. Also included, but not photographed, is a brand-new Thomann UK kettle/IEC lead. Everything is in used, but good overall condition, and ready to go to work! EDIT: Now just £75 for the lot, which includes mainland UK postage. No offers or trades please. Please message me if interested, and thanks for looking! Etienne

I’ve owned 3 over the years. Ibanez Roadstar; Fender Precision; Spector Spectorcore 5. Now I only have a NS NXT electric upright as my fretless. I do keep thinking it would be nice to have another fretless to use when the upright feels a bit too big. But to achieve that one of the 4 fretted would need to go, perhaps I should change a neck 🤔

Very Belated Harley Benton PB-50 Build Diary
Huge Hands replied to Huge Hands's topic in Build Diaries
Hi @PaulThePlug - just had a look through your build - you were certainly more adventurous than me! I have toyed with the idea of putting a decal on the headstock, but not sure if it should also be upside down, or the right way up for the way it is played. More obsessive thought required methinks! Did you just lay that on the top, or lacquer over it? My Chinese neck has a really shiny lacquer on it so don't really want to spoil that by sanding it down or over spraying. I also don't want to spoil it! It's my first mod/build that I haven't really ballsed up in any major way and therefore for the first time I am pretty satisfied and not feeling depressed about it lol! I tried a more modded version of my green Squier P5 (the other one in the pic) but the supposedly identical model I used had a banana neck and could never get the pickup placement right.... -
A bit of paper or beer mat will do at a pinch but I'd rather have the matchsticks.

Damn! Love it! I'll do it!

Saw them in a pub in Swansea late 80s, I think. 😀

He played it live by playing the notes in reverse order. It was such a signature part of the song that he finished up playing it twice.

i've owned 2 fretless basses in the past but never used them live, the first was/is a Aria cardinal medium scale that a previous owner had de-fretted, I never used it so i had the frets put back in, (i've still got this one as it's a YOB bass and i really like it), the second was a squier fretless jazz that i took as a trade for an amp, It never left the house so i traded it for a squier mustang. at some point i'm sure i'll buy another fretless but it will probably not get used and be sold on (i'll not learn!) Listen to Angie - fretless WHITE COLLAR FRAUD 2012 by RR on Bass on #SoundCloud https://on.soundcloud.com/PiYWo5LIhTeTgiXOGq This is a recording made maybe in 2010 on my fretless Kramer. It was quite a cheap bass when it came out but good quality for the price. In recent years I have upgraded the wiring loom with a Kiogon made version and it's given the bass a lot more Welly.

This is a FB comment I got from my local luthier and multi-instrumentalist who attended one of my band’s gigs on Sunday. I really respect his opinion on all things musical. I think it demonstrates how good a single Monza is. “Patrick T R O'Brien. Bass sounded great down the room - really fat in the low end and punchy. Great sound from such a small rig. Sounds much bigger.”

I did. I wasn't sure if that was for the whole thread or just the post. I'll keep an eye on that in future. Surprised it's taken me this long to notice it if it's a known foible. -
I'd have to ask friends who were at Live Aid but at the Mandela concert there were tarps covering the pitch.
