I wish I was you, Dave. 😊 To hear all that music for the first time again would be sublime.

If you're still using an analogue desk, I would encourage you to buy one of these digital desks and wonder why you hadn't before. I cannot adequately describe the difference the XR18 has made to my band. The sound is so much clearer and the freedom it gives people, to manage their own monitor mix etc, is game changing. It has raised our (sonic) game exponentially.

Completely agree. Apart from anything to do with Morrissey and The Smiths. -

I don't have a problem with Wetherspoons as such, just with its owner... Similarly, when I saw the Smiths in 1985ish at Leeds Uni I couldn't get past Morrisey and his gladioli. But then what do I know, I like avant-jazz and occasional slap bass! -

There's always a nuance to this. A singer may, indeed, be a technically awful singer, but they perform material that is popular. There are performers whom I wouldn't want to see, but a bloke with a 40 year career is clearly doing something right. Even a poor technique needn't be a barrier to greatness or popularity. The folk who play instruments around their knees are displaying poor technique, but seem perfectly capable of becoming legends. It's all very subjective. After all, if it was down to sheer ability, I'd be a musical god, but somehow I'm not! 🙂 -

Apologies for taking you literally, but I can't disagree - Wetherspoons do a decent breakfast for the money and their beer is fairly prices. Also, I saw The Smiths live in 1986 ish at "The Tube" filming and while I really wanted them to be rubbish so I could wind up my friend who was a big fan, they were actually rather good. -

Morning! Everyone is entitled to their opinion, just some are more vocal about it than others., which is fine in itself as long as they don’t try to ‘ram it down my throat’ so to speak. Personally I’ve yet to find any type of P bass that remotely interested me but hey ho! I appreciate that they’re probably the most widely used bass ever! As regards Morissey well….🤣x -

Another Rodby one that came to mind after doing the one above. The tune is 'Dream Of The Return' from the 1989 PMG Group album, 'Letter From Home'. https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/dream-of-the-return-pat-metheny-group/

Having been on BC for a while now (and also being a bit older and wiser) I don't understand when someone says something is rubbish or someone is rubbish when they / it aren't. You just don't like it. Is Morrisey a rubbish singer, just because I don't like him (as a singer and as a person)? He does what he does and I do quite like some smiths songs Are all P basses rubbish just because they don't work for you. I don't really like super ornate single cut basses where the top bit goes right down the fingerboard but I'm sure they're very good The food in Wetherspoons. Actually I think it's ok for the money, very good value but it's not gormet and that's not expected at that price point your thoughts please

Bought a lovely PJ bass body from Geoff. Great condition and carefully packaged. As others have said, a top BC'er and a pleasure to deal with.

I've been sacked once and replaced once I knew I was getting sacked (18 years ago now) because the bassist wasn't speaking to me at gigs. We had a rehearsal that turned into a band meeting in the pub (bass player didn't come, he was on holiday, the spinless w@n***) To be honest, I wanted to leave because I thought the bass player was a tw@t anyway and I'm still mates with the other guys. It was a great band, originals, good following, punters always singing along to the originals. I'm ok with it Now as for being replaced............ Underhand at best by the band leader and the singer We needed a new drummer, so the singer gets the drummer from another band he's in Great, I thought but the drummer wanted to bring his bass player with him If the band leader had been honest with me I could have booked other gigs to fill my diary. But he wasn't. He told me after they'd done some low key gigs (which I was asked about by mates, 'how did it go the other night at X?' I've actually met the replacement, by chance, very recently. Nice chap, great player and he apologised, he knew nothing about it. I don't want anything to do with underhand stuff, we're human beings and can be quite sensitive at times Be honest and be fair I would walk on this occasion as I won't be part of this kind of thing

I use a midi foot controller connected to an ipad running the dreamfoot app to trigger chord changes via garageband keyboards. Its not perfect but my band wouldn't know how to use click tracks. Its like a (very) cheap version of Geddys Moog pedals. -
