  1. Past hour
  2. I know I have a very rare version!
  3. That’s exactly why I included the Fender body shape…. If someone asked me what a P bass is, Adam Clayton’s Warwick isn’t what comes to mind.
  4. Will the UK bass makers that were using Hiscox as their branded supplied cases, still be using them though? But yes, nice to know on the retail accessory-end that they'll still be available again.
  5. If you get the Tobias I hope you will like it better than this 😉 (looks am.....! 🔥
  6. Bump for added sale option. Would consider trades for Fender P / PJ 5 string or Sandberg Basic Ken Taylor 5.
  7. Still shorter than having them in the spares drawer without an ad 😂
  8. Great set up. Ran exactly the same rig for a few years pre covid. GLWTS
  9. Beautiful amp, congratulations. My only comment is that unless you believe the valves will be unseated from their sockets during rough transit or handling, I'd remove those retainer springs, that could potentially scratch the glass. I replaced the spring retainers on my amp with the Ampeg Birtcher style retainers that just hold the valve base. My amp never moves though, so not really needed.
  10. Simply beautiful 😍 GLWYS.
  11. I'm not grading anything. I'm talking about players whose playing connects to me most on a personal level, related to topic of the thread. As with any form of art and music, everyone has their favourites, and it can make for an interesting discussion.
  12. Quick and simple sale, pleasant comms and a great BCer (plus great choice in gear!). I'd happily deal with Dan again - thanks!
  13. If I remember correctly when I bought one a few years back those were the settings that I was advised to start off with, then adjust to the bass being used at the time.
  14. What has the body shape to do with the definition, if the pickup and its placement is the thing soundwise? Would an Adam Clayton gilt Warwick not be a P, because of the shape? (OK, the pickup is reversed, but still?)
  15. Indeed, and I've been looking for a project to justify a bit more regular bass practice 🙂
  16. Raining Sound - Mike Keneally Band (with Bryan Beller laying it down, reggae fusion style)
  17. It's important enough to say it twice - do NOT use your truss rod as a means to control string height/action. That it has a small effect upon string height when you're adjusting at it is neither here nor there. It's there to control neck relief, to keep the neck straight (or with a very slight concave bow in it) to counteract the forces being placed on it by the strings.
  18. Today
  19. Look. I started a whole thread in irrational prejudices... I just can't stop thinking of it as wall paper, you know? Anyway. It's fine. It probably looks great from the audience. Better than my custom Dingwall!
  20. Bonkers prices for some brilliant pedals (I know because I bought one!)
  21. Utterly pointless to try and grade art and artists. Just sit back and enjoy.
