  2. 1 rack unit is gone so the only one left is the lower one in the photos. For sale is my used but not abused EMS 500 19" rack case. The rack is currently assembled as 6U but can be reconfigured as 3U, 6U simply by removing some bolts and panels - 10 min job! You can also configure it so the top removes for mixers. The rack is currently assembled to a board with castors which isn't included in the sale and will be removed before shipping.........unless you really, really want it and then it would be an extra £20 and whatever the increased postage is. These are quite special cases as they are modular construction where you can increase or decrease the number of rack spaces by easily adding or removing side and end panels. All you need is an allen key! You can also use them with a mixer installed in the top and the top panel can be easily removed! See the photo of how I had the units set up for my band PA. (None of the rack equipment is included.) All catches etc are in good condition. Rack to rack depth is 48cm. Weight per 6U assembly is 18lbs / 8.2kg. See the attached brochure for more details. The 6U Gator version of this case weighs 13lbs so slightly lighter but is NOT as rigid, road resilient or has the flexiblity options. As these are modular I would propose they are dismantled and flat packed for shipping to reduce the cost. I'll give details on how to re-assemble if you need but its quite straight forward. I've estimated UK postage to be £15 per unit. 6U Rack Unit 2 - the lower 6U rack unit in the photos on its own - £90 / Board with castors - £20 / Both together £100. Shipping Extra EMS.pdf
  3. Revived purely to slag off the Jazz bass. Seems a bit pointless. They're basses.

  5. Sadowsky Metro Express 5-string PJ in black sparkle finish. I bought it from basschat member BaggyMan; here's his original listing: https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/509637-sadowsky-5-string-metro-express-sold/ The bass has had some nice modifications: pre-amp upgraded to VTC version. Controls are: volume, blend, passive tone, bass/treble boost & cut (stacked knobs). Push/pull on the tone knob to bypass preamp (i.e. fully passive mode) bridge pickup changed to Nordstrand blade Sadowsky decal added String retainer changed Pickguard has been vinyl-wrapped. Weight: my kitchen scales say 4.25kg (9lb 6oz). Comes with Sadowsky PortaBag gig bag. £400 collected from Bristol, or +£15 for UK postage.

  7. I was flirting with the idea of an economical double bass that's on here at the moment. My SO was not amused... hmmm. EUBs...
  8. A good jazz, neck maxed, bridge dialled down a bit is loudest setting. Bridge turned to about 10% is the sweetest sound. The volume and tone on a p-bass are redundant except for home practice late evening...

  11. I’ve been trying to come up with an unpopular opinion here, but the truth is I pick up my Jazz and say, ah, this sounds nice and plays great. Then I pick up my P and say… well, sounds nice, plays great! There’s a lot to be said for knowing each sound well and when to deploy it. There’s so much territory can be covered with two pickups (or one!) with different strings and playing techniques. It’s also fine to stick everything on full and not overthink it😁 This reminds me that I’ve never actually had flats on my Jazzes. Some homework to do there.
  12. I’ve owned a couple of these and they are bloody decent basses, top quality all rounder. I’d have it if I wasn’t in the process of selling a bass. Good luck

  14. I'm a bit late to the party on this, but the Peavey Vypyr VIP 3. I've gigged mine with guitar and bass. I would happily buy another.
  15. They do them on 5 string? Colour me interested … my sire v7 is a bit bright though otherwise very jazz bass. Maybe it needs flats …
  16. I wonder who manufacturers them for Harley Benton. I might try a set for curosity.
  17. Looking For Clues - Robert Palmer
  18. If it’s a sanded down sub neck there’s likely still some flecks of black in the wood. I had mine sanded and the luthier said he’d have had to sand too much off to get it all out - mine was a Sterling profile neck though.
  19. Mine were refunded on eBay, so it didn't cause me an issue.
  20. Wow - they still going? Haven't seen them since the mid 90s!
  21. Looking For Satellites - Bowie
  22. Great band name 😎
  23. We allowed straps, leads, and consumables, so a stand seems OK to me.
  24. Dancing Out In Space - Bowie
