  2. Thank you very much! I've spent an inordinate amount of time faffing around with cables and Dual Lock but I do really enjoy putting boards together. I sometimes take a picture of the other side too: the Rockboard routing options are excellent for stopping trailing wires flapping around. @pantherairsoft the Lutz is an impressive pedal. It's been engineered to within an inch of its life and weighs a ton, especially for a fuzz given they are usually simple circuits. The Lutz is more of a gated, sputtery monster but everything is tweakable. I'll send you a few demos. The low end retention is good (I just listened to it through headphones and it's a lot, especially with a cabsim to tame it) but I find I have to keep a few dials at max/near max to get the sound I like (as is often the case with non-bass-specific pedals). There are plenty of sounds in it, as you'd hope given it has three footswitches, five dials and two dip-switches. A world away from the Type One's simplicity! I will but that's one I'm hoping to hang onto!
  3. I say more power to their respective elbows. It's their band and they can do what they like; I reckon by this point they've earned it.
  4. According to courtserve.net, Michael Mason is due to appear at Leicester Magistrates Court tomorrow, 7th October. I'm presuming that's Mick.
  5. I’m not a particular fan, like some of the songs, but I echo the sentiments of others, great that they want to get together and make some music. I don’t think gender of either the drummer or keyboard player is relevant really, genitalia doesn’t dictate that you can play an instrument better/worse, pick the people who do the job you want the best, and who you can get on with.
  6. Thanks for pointing this out. Thread now torched.
  7. Turned up to a new rehearsal space expecting an Ampeg 8x10 but found this Orange combo… at least I could put my Handbox WB100 to some use 🥲
  8. If they deliver, keep both. Unless they've made you sign an agreement to return the original of course.

Perhaps a mod should consider merging the three current threads on Rush?

I agree that it doesn’t seem like a cash in exercise and, as stated before, it strikes me as two lifelong friends that have shared interests wanting to do what they love doing - putting on a show for their fans. We all know what effect performing in front of a crowd can have on your soul, imagine being denied that feeling that you’ve lived and played for as long as these guys have. I for one am pleased they’re collaborating with other musicians, yes it’ll be a little odd not seeing Neil behind the kit, and it’ll be odd if, as they’ve suggested, they bring in a keyboard player to free up Geddy to concentrate on his bass playing. If I can get a ticket to one of the Toronto dates, I’d be there in a heartbeat.
  11. if that Hypersleep ever needs a new home let me know 🤣
  12. Yes not long now! Still can't believe this happened, thought we'd seen the end of graphite in the UK
  13. Go on, what’s it weigh? 🙃
  14. Thats auctions for you. To be fair they market things well and do a good job of de-stressing the whole process. You could always get more in a private sale, of course, but you need to sell it.
  15. Hi Chris, Seems I don’t automatically get a notification when someone replies! I’ve PM’d you the number. Terry
  16. I don’t know much about Rush, but unlike a lot of these tings it doesn’t seem like a cynical cash in (looking at you Oasis). More seems like lifelong friends who want to experience a big stage for possibly the last time.
  17. Thread no. 3...
  18. Yep, more comments here
  19. Peart retired after the R40 tour (which I recall he only did on sufferance), several years before he became unwell. Clockwork Angels was their final album and as far as anyone - band or fans - were concerned it was over. And that was a shame but their choice - so fine. Lee & Lifeson said they'd maybe work together again at some point but it wouldn't be 'Rush'. The assumption was it'd be new music in some form. The Taylor Hawkins reunion thing was quite unexpected, and I do remember reading that afterwards they said the phone "hadn't stopped ringing". They were highly dismissive of the idea of going out as Rush with a different drummer. Lifeson went off to do his Envy Of None thing, and Lee's written three books - it sort of looked like they'd found new outlets. Personally, as I said, I hoped they might get the bug to make some new music together, but instead they've done the very thing they seemed pretty adamant they weren't going to do. For musicians who I always admired for making their own decisions & not succumbing to commercial pressure, or doing anything the easy way, this feels pretty sad.
  20. I always wear a fleece. I use it to get sleeve muting. Who needs sponge?
  21. So I bit the bullet today and stuck £180 into a new bridge from Ernie Ball. It pained me to do it but after traipsing round metal finishers in the local area to be told, “no”, “I don’t think so” or “that will cost you more than 200 quid”, then trialling vinyl wrapping with black vinyl I gave up and admitted defeat. I’m not sure how the return of the old bridge will happen (maybe they might forget!) but will cross that bridge when I come to it. So it will have black hardware and will look cool when complete. i have no idea how long the bridge will take to come from EB in the US… but I have a couple of weeks wait for the tuners anyway so no hurry no worry as they say in Fiji. will update when items arrive!
  22. Waller, but without the "ler" at the end. From Ian Waller, co-founder of the company.
  23. If people are willing to pay £9 grand for a vintage Wal then good luck to them, and well done to whoever is managing to sell them at that price. I would love to buy a Wal but I don't want an old one and all the associated problems for that kind of money. I'd much rather have a new one made by Paul Herman, but last I heard it was a six year wait. When you get to a certain age six years is a maybe rather than a when. I'll just have to make do with something else.
  24. Yes, still available
