This was my son’s first kit, it’s spent the last year disassembled at his mum’s house though and it’s time to move it on. Missing a foot but everything else seems to be there. Will supply with a spare drum head but stool not included. First photo is from when it was set up at my house a few years back, others all from today. Collection only due to size etc…

What Snarky bass is Michael playing?
Grahambythesea replied to Grahambythesea's topic in General Discussion
Thanks everyone. Your sleuthing is amazing. Really interesting bass, about time a luthier recognised League and gave him a signature bass, but out of most of our league ( pardon the pun) price wise. -
So now I'm expecting you to paint your DB in camouflage pattern, using Humbrol paints. And then of course there are the transfers ...

I stumbled on an Album by Carol Kaye I've not heard before (featuring a whole load of top players). Well, I say stumbled, it came to my attention while watching a Scott Devine & Ian Martin Allison YouTube video discussing Carol Kaye and her career: Bass, Producer - Carol Kaye. Drums – Earl Palmer, John Guerin, Paul Humphrey. Double Bass - Ray Brown. Guitar – Joe Pass, Howard Roberts. Piano, Electric Piano – Joe Sample. Congas - Milt Holland. Saxophone/Flute – Tom Scott. Trombone – J.J. Johnson. Trumpet, Flugelhorn – Conte Condoli.

I'm pretty sure they are 8 ohms. There is no label on back to state power rating. I've always assumed about 300 but you'd have to take speaker out to make sure of everything. Here's a picture of the back of one (they are both the same).

But have they just taken a standard Ric and moved the bridge 4 inches into the body?? -
I've had cheap necks that have been perfect and never needed a tweak, and expensive necks that were always slightly out. While of course quality materials and high standards of manufacture are protective, there's always going to be the odd bit of temperamental wood that gets through the process, and I guess it's possible that various treatments - roasted etc - might lower the risk os those that do being a complete PITA. But on the whole, if you keep your necks in fairLy consistent humidity and temperature, and don't change string tension or gauge too often, you really shouldn't have to touch your necks very often once set up.

Id quite like an Al Cisneros signature Rickenbacker. Id also like some of his skills.

If an agent books out a band, he/she will charge - usually 15%, sometimes more - on top of the band's fee. So how is it different that a venue asks for 10% for recommending a band? If the band doesn't get the booking, it (and the customer) won't pay, so what's the problem?

I just 5 minutes ago spoke with Rose Morris (the shop in Denmark Street) to ask if they stocked the Kawai ES60, to upgrade my old Kurzweil. They do - and I was also offered the option of Roland pianos (two doors down in the same street) and Yamahas (5 minutes walk away, at the main Yamaha store at 152-160 Wardour Street Soho London W1F 8YA). So, perhaps Denmark Street would be a good starting place for @SumOne?

My EBMM USA Sterling has a 'normal' oiled neck and never needs tweaking. I only ever need to adjust the tuning when I change the strings!

Christmas present ideas for bassists
lemmywinks replied to FretsOnFire's topic in General Discussion
I'm getting a TS101 soldering iron of Mrs lemmywinks, about £42 off AliExpress. Might be a good present for tinkerers, can be powered by a laptop charger or USB Type C. -
