I suspect I'm a tier 2 fail as of ordering a Swiff IEM last night.

I had to do that at a Motorhead tribute band, Motorheadache. That's exactly what I ended up with, a headache. I kept moving further and further back and eventually put silicon ear plugs in. Other people were quite content to head bang in the bass bins. My ears were ringing at the back and my stomach was moving in time with the bass, so no idea what they were feeling. I have a little container as well I take to gigs for the same reason.

Although speaking as someone with nine trace elliot cabs I'm with Yngwie on this - more is more, overkill is overkill... and I love it 💣 !

I've had a pair in a little metal container on my keyring for years. Used them only a handful of times, and never felt like they were particularly essential. Then in November I went along to a gig at Alexandra palace and the support act had the worst sound mixing I've ever heard. They were this absolutely dreadful techno/metal hybrid duo, just two guys and a lot of pre-recorded synth stuff. They sounded like they'd gone to the sound guy's desk and just pushed every eq slider from 30 Hz to 200 Hz all the way up. It was just a wall of punishing mush. It was the first time I've ever been able to clearly perceive a sort of standing wave – there was a point near the back of the room where the bass was reflecting off the wall and creating a nauseating out-of-phase throbbing effect. My ears started to hurt immediately and so I popped in my earplugs. It was such a relief. I was the only person from the group I went with who wasn't half-deaf by the time the main act came on.

Never even thought about this... We're literally teaching ourselves Logic as we go (and I don't think any of the four of us are particularly Mac savvy in general) so little pearls like this are much appreciated.

I doubt the cabinet would have been much good with that specification of amp/speakers.

I was kinda wondering whether any of this (other than the MB rig in the corner) could properly be regarded as "bass gear"? Well there's maybe an argument that there's a kick drum in there... 😅

Hey! Quick question: there is some buzzing when i touch the pole pieces lf the P pick-up or my Piranha... i tried the nail varnish trick but it still buzzes.. Is it possible that my split coil is not correctly wired?

I was a little worried from the some of the comments above that plugging a headphone into a line-level aux-out could somehow cause damage to the desk circuitry. But seems from my online research I can rest easy on that score, as the only issue is likely to be insufficient volume in the IEM ear pieces if the signal has not been subsequently amplified? (Which, as noted above, doesn't seem to be a concern with the A&H CQ desks).

I shall have to check that out.
