  2. Hi Mickey I don’t venture that way anymore I’m afraid. But could do a halfway meet in Shaftesbury if that’s convenient? cheers John
  3. Toured with mine, flown with it, always stood up to the task. For day to day usage I take my Mono M80 but anything more strenuous the Hiscox takes the load, sad news to see them closing down.
  4. Offers invited.
  5. I sold Dave my BF Super Twin. Great transaction. Great communication. Instant payment and a thoroughly good lad to deal with all round. I wouldn’t hesitate to deal with him again. Enjoy the cab Dave 😁 Cheers Dunc
  6. #553 Never knew we had club numbers like on Talkbass.
  7. Kala UBass with the poly strings is the next best thing. A pair of them in a Fusion twin Uke gigbag and my small pedalboard is all that's going to the gig on Saturday night.....😎👍
  8. The G&L L2000 or L2500 has a little 'sizzle' switch, which gives extra, high frequency, top end if you need it. Bats love them.
  9. Turn Back Time - Cher
  10. Hi, I'm looking for an amp for use at home (I live in a flat with neighbours...) and in a practice room with the rest of my band. I want some good oomph for the band practice, but want something portable. A shop has recommended a Mark Bass CMB 121 Blackline Bass Combo Solid State Amp. What do you think? Are there other amps I should consider? I've got a Fender Rumble 15 at the moment, and that is definitely too quiet for the practice room. [I'm an amateur, adult, but not massively strong] Thanks!!
  11. I would have said Fodera but might be a struggle budget wise 😅 i always associated Ibanez basses to have lots of top end but then I was never keen on the low end of their sound.
  12. My case of choice too, if I’ve brought a bass, that doesn’t come with a case.
  13. Won’t ever sell mine, fantastic cases.
  14. time stand still - rush
  15. My case of choice... anyone want to sell me theirs?
  16. All my basses have plenty of sizzle if I turn up the treble somewhere in my signal chain.
  17. I've been fast and loose based on my memories of books read in my teens/twenties and written in the seventies. I think my wires got crossed between some of the different case studies. I am pretty sure I am right about a blind test with an audience where they matched a 10W output to the volume of a small orchestra. Looking around, Lowther do 5 and 8-inch drivers for enclosures that cost about the same as a luxury car that claim 35Hz... Horns can be crazy things... these PA horns were my grandfather's, then father's, and were still being hired out (with new drivers) for equestrian events a couple of years ago, because they sounded far better than modern speakers in that application. The photos would be early/mid-1950s.

  19. 312 and I bloomin' well feel like it after cutting two big hedges, and 3 small ones. Where's that weedkiller ?
  20. Wow !!!!! It is indeed a very sad loss to the British Music Industry, if this is all correct.
  21. …and that apparently makes me 1033 - I certainly feel that sometimes
  22. Many thanks both for the confirmation! I forgot to mention that, yes the original speaker had already been swapped out for an 8ohm Celestion BN-15-300S (which might explain why the cab was a little lighter than I was expecting). I'm not sure how to determine whether that speaker is suitable for the cab. Based on these pictures from an eBay listing for the same model cab, the original speaker would have been a JBL 043091H. The internal dimensions of the cab are 62cm x 62cm x 32cm, and the oblong front-facing port measures 62cm x 3.5cm Any suggestions greatly appreciated!
  23. Spector with EMG's and a Tonepump or EMG preamp. Musicman anything also a good call. Status Graphite Series II, Stealth and Modulus basses with EMG pickups can also be very bright when the strings are fresh.
  24. Going on tour 31st March, so happy to take offers before it gets chopped in!
