Man, I’d love that. I end up spending so much on soft drinks (I don’t drink pre gig and usually am driving anyway). Free entry for the wife would be lovely too.

A busy week next week: Monday is Emma Swift at The Borderline, her hubby Robyn Hitchcock aboard the replica of Drake's Golden HInde in Southwark on Wednesday, then Gob Nation all-day festival at The Dome in Tufnell Park on Saturday, including Ex-Vöid and The Tubs on the bill.

Local boy Robbie McIntosh with his band at The Sound Lounge in Sutton last night Always a quality act, the gig being 10 minutes' walk from my house was bonus

Bleat started following Have you ever bought a BASS and hated it

I went through a few years of buying, trying, and selling basses in attempt to find "the one" that would stick I've most certainly had some great basses that I really genuinly regret selling on, but very few that I've been a bit dissapointed with. One that does stand out that came very near to hatred just short of "I totally despise this bit of wood" as I got rid of it before that point was a Retrovibe something or other. Looked like a load of generic bits out of the Chinese factory parts bin thrown together. The body felt like it was made of some light balsa wood, with a neck made from Kryptonite. It looked a bit like a Stingray. Sounded like shite, played like shite.

I guess it's pot luck. -
Tech21 Sansamp BDDI Programmable or the Bass Fly rig V2 could be a good start if you need lots of different sounds. The BDDI & VTDI Deluxe have been discontinued, but you may be able to find one second hand on here, or in an online market place of your choosing. Great, because they give you loads of different options. There's always going down the digital modelling route with something like the Line6 PODGo, HX Stomp, Boss GT Core, Headrush, etc.

Do you think of yourself as a musical 'artist'?

I’m just a bloke who likes to make low frequency wobbly noises, turns out that some people actually LIKE that sort of thing, and (on occasion) are prepared to compensate me for my ‘ability’. Who knew?!? -

That, is a very nice looking rig. I use a Little Bastard with the 2x12" box. We're not the loudest band in the world- both guitarists are obsessed with not using amps so they go straight into the the PA- but with a live drummer and two guitars, this holds its own quite comfortably and of course, because I am driving it quite hard you get that lovely power tube break up....

Bought from geoff90guitar from here - I've had a fret level, and had the edges rounded off (though Reverend claim a plex process, the ends were still bit rough and not to the exacting specs of my luthier pal) also replaced the nut with a new bone nut - and set up with TI flats - so spent a bit of it so just asking for what i paid and put into it but still huge saving so price set to sell - it's just not for me and have just bought a lovely P off here (i'm just traditional it seems) See small body ding in pics Big, deep and punchy with excellent clarity is the calling card of the Mercalli. The innovative passive pickups have that vintage warmth, while the five-piece neck and high mass bridge deliver modern punch and sustain! Just had full set up and fret level with fret edges smoothed off and brand new bone nut. TI flats on it too with low action but no buzzing - small ding pictured Very ergonomic to play and only 8lb in weight so very easy in the shoulder SPECS BODY Korina Solidbody PICKUPS Thick Brick Bridge, Split Brick Neck BRIDGE String-thru-body or Top-load, 3/4" spacing NECK 5-Piece Maple/Walnut, Satin Amber Finish SCALE 34" NECK PROFILE Medium Oval FINGERBOARD Roasted Maple or Rosewood, 12" Radius FRETS 21 - 0.110"W x 0.050"H TRUSS ROD Dual Action, Headstock Access TUNERS Hipshot Ultralight, 1/2" Dia. I had already had a long day (piano lesson in the morning, met a friend in the afternoon), and arrived an hour early. I chatted with Steve, and others, and listened to the first performer. By 8:20, I had run out of stamina, and decided to leave - before Steve had even started his set! Back home by bedtime.

Sorry. Just been proved wrong. Hellzero thought the crack to be excellent, therefore, some must have made it through to his pipe. -
