Only because I'm (hopefully!) going to be looking for one in a few months, G&L L-2500 Tributes that aren't in Japan (or which pretend to be in Japan but don't actually exist).

Our last gig I had to wear headphones to hear myself at all on the phone recordings, even when it was a bass solo.

Right someone needs to buy this I think 😁 £135 shipped - I’m taking an almost 50% loss from what I paid to import it, and this is a monster of a preamp if you’re an SVT head, this is an absolute steal! This video 👇 is a guy on TalkBass who gives it a good run thru and shows what it an do at fairly low gain (mostly 9-11 o’clock or less), into a cab, and running other drives into it, specifically how this preamp run fairly clean can make some pretty cheap drives sound good run into it. Anyway make your own mind up, I thought it sounded good

Yep, been there, and am playing in the venue where that happens to us annually a week on Saturday - yay! Last time I played there I brained a dancer twice with the headstock of the bass before she learned not to dance so close to us despite the postage stamp-sized area for people to do so.

Musicman Stingray Neck PRE EB Decal

This. I love the huge bends she gets, but I'm very glad I don't have to take it on a bus. Bass guitars are so much more convenient.

Lee bought a power supply from me. Prompt payment, excellent comms. Thanks.

Thanks @skej21, funny how what on paper look like marginal differences make a difference, but they do. I had two Warmoth necks, one of which I feel really home on, the other I didn't, and the difference was probably in the 2mm difference in depth, not dissimilar to the above (I'd almost certainly prefer the AVRI of the two). Guess it's why - especially if you're intent on spending a lot of cash - you need to play first. I wonder how many of us have let a basses go because they didn't work but without ever really knowing why (2mm neck depth difference for example), only to repeat the mistake?

I thought the springs on stacked knobs were to help with grounding? 🤔🤷♂️ -

So at our last gig one of my old iColor 3’s took a stage dive and is no longer with us 😪 Having hummed and haa’d about upgrading for some time, I have finally bit the bullet and gone for a pair of LEDJ 211’s. They put out quite a bit less lumens but we never ran the iColor’s at full power anyway so I am hoping these will serve well as stage wash lights. I will report back once I’ve tried them out in anger.

There are two sources of noise, mechanical and airflow. Obviously, Noctua put a lot of effort into addressing both and are a relatively affordable upgrade (if you avoid the very top of the range). But I've rarely encountered fans with a lot of mechanical noise compared to airflow noise, at least in the last 10-15 years, in the 90/00s it wasn't uncommon to encounter all sorts of rattly or rumbly fans). The main shortfall with cheap fans is poor lubrication of the sleeve bearings. Pealing back the sticker and applying a tiny amount of light mineral oil will silence many noisy sleeve bearing fans for years. As for airflow, you can use better aerodynamic designs, but in small amps where size is a limiting factor, fans have to be small. My TE Elf is a good example, its tiny fan is intrusive if you run it in a 'bedroom' context as it runs flat out and isn't helped by the small vent holes. For slightly larger amps you can fit a bigger fan and use PWM or similar to reduce fan speed and achieve much less airflow noise. The airflow through the amp itself is another issue, and you need a certain volume of air to achieve cooling. Something like the Orange Terror has a 75mm fan and a 'showbox' design with a lot of ventilation slots, which is probably why it is relatively quiet. My computer has two 125mm fans, they run at modest speed 99% of the time and the airflow and heatsinking are well designed, so they are barely audible, even with the side panel off.

It's not every day you see two of these up for sale on the Marketplace, is it? For Sale / Trade 2019 Fender Flea Signature Road Worn Jazz in faded Shell Pink. You already know how good these are - they have the same Pure Vintage 64 Pickups as the American Vintage & the American Original series Jazzes. This one has a couple of additions from a previous owner - a Leo Quan BadAss II Bridge and a micro switch for Parallel/Series switching. Series mode gives it more of a P-alike shove. It's a great sounding bass and I'll throw in one of the new Fender triangular padded Gig Bags. Oh, and it has brand new genuine Fender Road Worn Strap Buttons. The previous metallic red locking ones really had to go! Obviously this is a Road Worn bass, so a bunch of Mexicans at the Ensenada plant have more than likely kicked the body around a shale carpark during their lunch break, but condition is exactly as you'd expect - rather like a nicely worn in '61 Jazz, which is what it's apparently trying to be. No flaky bits of faded Shell Pink have fallen off while it's been in my tenure, anyway. Potential buyers are welcome to come and try the bass whether they end up buying it or not. There's always Tea/Coffee and maybe biscuits. Price is £900. Interesting trades considered. Buyer to collect, or I will happily meet up half way at a distance of up to 100 miles (200 miles total distance!) from DE7. Thank you for your attention.
