  1. Past hour
  2. I'm setting off from M6 J20-ish with space in my car. If you want to ferry stuff to me on or before Saturday, I could take it and bring it back for you. David
  3. Bought a pedal off of Damon in a cracking deal. Very fast delivery also! Highly recommended!
  4. This is pretty much and Orange. Curiously, practicing with my Performer through my little 10W Joyo, I accidentally found a killer slap tone today.
  5. @Woodinblack I feel your pain. I depped a full-tilt rock band a few years back, and the pub use a pair of old church pews to separate the crown from the floor-level window alcove the band set up in. We had to play with one food on the pew (facing inwards to us) to keep them in place, which works well when you're in full rock mode (hello Harris and his Monitor Foot Stance) I'm gigging tonight in Reading with Jagged Little Alanis (http://jaggedlittlealanis.co.uk) at the Facebar (just off Reading's internal ring road, easy access and chatham street car park very close by). Should be a good one!
  6. Yes, indeed. I’ve not had a Korean or Indonesian-made G&L Tribute, so I can only compare this to a U.S. version. It’s very nice indeed. Aside from the tuners, which are a bit stiff, it is indistinguishable from my U.S. L-2000. It has a 4-bolt neck plate like a Fender.
  7. I'll have you covered at the bash with my Wunkay. A shottie of my Wunkay for a shottie of your Performer?
  8. It is the one thing that really puts me off... the pregnant woman profile. FWIW I like the Sire headstock. All said, this thread has sparked an interest in trying out a G&L.
  9. that's the numbers i recall
  10. Selling this great outboard bass preamp on behalf of my friend Alex Lofoco. The preamp is currently in Rome and can be shipped from there or from London when Alex comes over next. This is the original Sadowsky Outboard preamp which was built by Fishman - this particular unit was built on Dec 14th 1992 and and includes a belt/strap clip and a battery compartment. Any questions, let me know!
  11. A bit too up close and personal. A local place in the next village that we hadn't played before so didn't really know much about it. Seemed to be a lot of space when we started but there was a pinch point between the door and the bar and my microphone stand! So in the first half, the first hour there wasn't that much interaction, a few dancers, mostly of people we knew who came out because we were there, and applause from them, and a few other intersted crowd that just watched. The last 15 minutes of the first half we tailed off the rock stuff and the crowd got more interested and interactive, as is generally the way. The second half was pretty well flat out the whole time and we had to retreat back a bit closer towards the wall as space became trickier. The guitarist put some small stools in front of his pedalboard to stop people from jumping on it! There was a security woman who thankfully kept pushing them back a bit when they were bashing into my microphone - the joys of pubs huh? Still they all seemed to enjoy it and the barstaff seemed happy at the end of the day so its nice to open up new venues. Usual problems, took a while to work out why no sound when I started, transmitter and receiver the wrong way round! Drummers drum lights burned out half way through, forgot to charge my page turner. On the plus side, sax player got a new wireless (nux sax thing instead of shure) and no longer got clicks and pops from it - a bit of feedback but probably at the moment it is still set for the shure so needs some adjustments. It is a lot easier to setup.
  12. Whereabouts in Warwickshire ?
  13. But it's a Gary Willis (fretless) with real men strings spacing (19mm).
  14. Picnic! At the Disco And maybe Arctic Donkeys if it hasn't been done already
  15. I'll keep quiet if you will. 😂
  16. I haven’t compared them personally, but a guy who bought one of The Duke from me, told me, it sounded quite the same as Fender PV63.
  17. Up for grabs is my Moon JJ4. Ebony fretboard, brass nut, the body looks like alder... The preamp is the legendary Bartolini TCT, the original Marcus Miller preamp. Мany scratches and dents on the body. The neck is straight, the frets are polished. 4.240 kg Hard to beat (at any price) in terms of sound, playability and craftmanship.

  18. There's a very nice one at a decent price right now on Reverb: Ibanez LA Custom Shop SDGR 5-String Fretless Bass - Natural https://reverb.com/item/92379215
  19. There's a James Jamerson bass line that I return to time and time again, because it's so inventive and there's so much to learn from it. This bass line is from Marvin Gaye's classic, 'What's Going On'. Jamerson is at his finest in this iconic song and and although this bass line is full of syncopation, time displacement, chromatic ideas and enclosures, it still grooves. It just flows perfectly in and out of the vocal line. I've started a brand new YouTube series called 'Bass Lines That Changed Music Forever', and this bass line features in the very first video of the series. I'd love for you to leave me a comment under the video with suggestions of any other bass lines that you think may be worthy to feature in this series. Enjoy!
  20. Used that with the band yesterday and it is ok, not super bright but in the right place it works well - but transport wise, anyone got a recommendation for a bag to put it in?
  21. Triple post. FFS.
  22. Thread resurrection. Following my recent Hoppus-esque Modern Prometheus build, I'm in need of another case. With Tourtech cases (or whatever they're called now) seemingly unavailable anywhere, I've pulled the trigger on a Thomann ABS case. £79 delivered. It's not going to see anywhere near the action of the the Tourtech cases, so it should be fine. Will report back. I was thinking about buying a Ritter Bern gigbag, but the ABS makes for easier storage.
  23. HELLO Basschatters! I've joined an Alanis Morissette tribute this year, and the bass on her songs turns out to be enchanting, sometimes complex, supportive and really interesting to play. If you're a fan of her work, and you can make it to Reading in Berkshire, come and check us out tonight: Facebar is here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/wYr6u83XvQDjPjyX7 Tickets from Eventbrite: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/jagged-little-alanis-alanis-morissette-tribute-band-tickets-1116495962479 The band's accessible from http://jaggedlittlealanis.co.uk - CHEERS m'BASS DEERS Andy W
