Left handed bass as seen in pictures. Works very well as a starter bass for anyone interested in learning. Really fantastic condition and has just been fitted with brand new D'Addario bass strings. Small mark on the pickguard. Collection from Newcastle. I am open to sensible offers. Have a few more pictures and videos on request.

My frends really awful band - advice needed

Unless I was asked for a professional opinion (or my amateur one), I'd just say something like, well I enjoyed it. People usually just want validation. Your mate's not stupid, and he'd know how the band were doing based on the audience reaction. If someone is deluded, they're probably wouldn't take any notice anyway. -

I'm not understanding this - are you saying that a third party is able to inject dodgy stock into Amazon's stock that they sell under their name (so the listing reads "Shipper/Seller - Amazon" not "Shipper/Seller - A.N. Other") and are therefore responsible for the customer service? I can't see how they would allow this.

So did I ! I’ve settled on ‘semi-retirement’ Mart - no longer doing the touring thing, just mainly duo and occasional dep gigs nearer home. Oh yeah, and a weekly rock n roll club night too! Not sure I’ll ever stop completely, although my body may decide otherwise. 😄

I reckon it'll be closer to £600 - which will be an interesting place for HB to be. Will be aiming to go above Sire at the £400 with better hardware and electronics. But not enough to make the brand snobs think it's too close to a base range of Fender. I don't really get on with Jazz basses but these do look good! -

Ive seen it for between £113 and £120 on AliExpress over the weekend. Over £100 just seems to take it out of the 'give it a go' category for me.
-
With AliExpress I usually watch an item and click on it a few times, then a day or so later it magically appears in the bundle deals for a much cheaper price.

Yes, Fender has a long history of acquiring brands and killing them off because they only wanted to gain certain expertise. Not as bad as Gibson, thank heavens, but their track record is not good. I truly hope G&L will live on and will have their legacy (no pun intended) preserved though. I think they're a wonderful brand with their own identity and great instruments.
-
It doesn't always mean that they're real though. Fakes would get in like this: Amazon get a delivery of D'addario strings from D'addario, they get unpacked into a container to be picked. I then set up a shop on Amazon selling "D'addario strings" and ship Amazon a box to store for me, they're dodgy but they have the same barcode so they get unpacked into the same container to be picked. You place an order from the D'addario store and then you get whatever it is that is pulled out of the container first. This scam used to be quite common with SD cards that would present as showing full capacity but it's a trick. Presumably, the margins were good on those. I don't know if they've gotten stricter with these things.

If Fender has bought G&L, based on what happened when they acquired tacoma, my guess is they probably want the original Fender factory. Maybe they'll move the Fender custom shop there and G&L will will be made offshore only. Gaining back the preserved office/lab where Leo worked would be a bit of a bonus for their story.
