I'd buy one if they put the bridge closer to the pickups, and the pickups closer to the neck, like McCartney's Hofner. ๐ค

This one is very bitter sweet - on the band stand as part of the local Wassail yesterday, leading community singing along with the local singing club and male voice choir. We had about 500 in the audience all singing along. Sadly that's the last gig we're doing as a band, but there's some good memories. Sorry, it's a rubbish photo.

Jetglo one sold at GuitarGuitar now. Still really interested to hear more about these particularly if a fellow BC'er has one, in the hope that they may see a significant price reduction in the future (like what happened with the 4005XC I bought...)

Dabbled this evening with the idea of 3D printing a replacement colour pickup cover for the MFD 'bucker. No reason to do this other than a) a bit of fun, and b) learning some CAD. This isn't ready for prime time yet because it's a solid block with nowhere for the bobbins to actually go ๐ Thank you @rwillett for the tip on Fusion - very easy to get up and running.

Thx Paul. Iโll check the measurements but the ones I have are literally 1/2 mil wider than the originals hence hoping someone has bought some they know fit before I buy more. Iโll check though ๐ค

I highly recommend a few sessions with a personal trainer. I was in a bad way with two bad (one really bad) goalkeepers knees. Pain all the time, walking upstairs was agony on a good day, and pain enough to disturb sleep or prevent it all together. Doctors advice was to hold off as long as possible then knee replacement surgery. I started with my PT shortly after COVID restrictions were lifted, and I can now squat my own body weight amongst other things but the most important thing is Iโm pain free and no surgery.

Hi. Iโm looking to buy some white pickup covers for my Mex P bass to give it a kinda Paul Simenon look. I have 2/3 sets of aftermarket ones but they are too big for the pick guard. Does anyone know if Fender sell them? Can only see black ones and/or - has anyone bought any that actually fit? Thx. Andy

Cracking gig at The Bungalow in Paisley. Depping with a band I used to play with a few years back! Great fun and very very busy! Got to use my newest bass which is the Deaky bass as seen on this very forum! It rocks!!

Should do, assuming that the input sensitivity is sufficient (mic level rather than line level).

I looked at Astrides when I needed a new 7 string electric guitar. I'd written some pieces with a 7 string Strandberg but really didn't get on with the trapezoid neck profile and never bonded with the guitar. In the end I chose a Music Man Kaizen 7 string, which has a lovely neck profile and fantastic versatile tone (I play 7 string melodic fingerstyle, generally clean so not metal at all!). Would still love to try an Astrides sometime.

I used to like the way MK wasn't afraid to change his tone from track to track on the studio albums back in the '80's. Like on that song Micro Kid on Standing In The Light it sounds like he's cranked the mid and treble controls on his JayDee. This Croydon gig sounds not dissimilar to that tone:

This piano hasn't seen the light of day since around 6 months, when I started playing again (and definitely) one with 88 black and white keys. Maybe I'll even sell that Le Fay...
