Well the run of excellent gigs came to an end last night. A club gig that doubled as a members event. The audience was our age demographic but dancers were few and far between. Maybe they were saving themselves for the upcoming festivities. However onwards and upwards to next week when we’re back in pub land for a new venue on the outskirts of Chesterfield.

Hi Folks, Up for sale is my Mooer Radar Cab Simulator FX pedal which comes with the original box and PSU. I'm looking for £50 or near offer for it. It's a fantastic little unit which I bought here on Basschat for a recording project a year or so ago. Now the project is finished, I'm not really using it, hence why putting it up for sale. That said, it's a great fx unit for recording bass and making your sound feel more natural and authentic.. And it's also pretty good for gigging too. Here's some useful info about it: Review: https://chucksguitargeekery.wordpress.com/2019/05/10/gear-review-mooer-radar/ YouTube links: Blurb : "The MOOER RADAR is a full-featured professional speaker simulator which can be a permanent resident at the end of your pedalboard. Not only does it carry 30 cab models but it also has optional microphone and power amp simulation. Ideal for recording or hooked up to your favourite headphones for practice. The RADAR will transform your pedalboard into a complete guitar rig." (https://www.mooeraudio.com/product/Radar-51.html) Very happy to post this at buyers cost or it can be collected from me in Bedfordshire or North West London... Any questions, please ask, and thanks for looking. Cheers Nik

I sailed through my bypass earlier this year - though I was fit and well and hadn't been ill - and went straight back to it once I was allowed to drive again. I did that because I was determined not to stop gigging because of illness etc but For a long time I've been considering it. I'm an early retired 64 , fit and well and do several volunteering jobs so it's not my age - I'm just bored with it. I played in a pub in Castleford ( never go unless you're forced , and even then don't go !! ) about 8 years ago and it suddenly occurred to me that I'm still hawking my talents around the same toilets as I was when I was 17. I've had plenty of laughs along the way and done nigh on 2000 gigs but the truth of it is that I set out to become an artist and settled for being a craftsman. That's my greatest regret. These days I get more joy from noodling around at home than the ' groundhog day ' feeling of gigs. So - yes , gather ye rosebuds etc but when the time comes to chuck them away - act. I haven't done that and it's been a mistake.

I have the 100 and the 500 combos. The 100 is loud enough for most stuff I play (pubs) but the 500 has more power (obviously) and disperses the sound better so I use that a fair bit too. Both are cracking amps and, in my opinion, sound best when the 'vintage' button is engaged.

This was my son’s first kit, it’s spent the last year disassembled at his mum’s house though and it’s time to move it on. Missing a foot but everything else seems to be there. Will supply with a spare drum head but stool not included. First photo is from when it was set up at my house a few years back, others all from today. Collection only due to size etc…

Messy or not, what's on your (music) work desk right now?
bass_dinger replied to kiat's topic in General Discussion
The neatness of an office, the tools of a workshop, and the accessibility of a spare bedroom. It's a good space to use - not just the desk, but also the whole room. -

I'm lucky to have a dinky little box room to tinker with things and practice my bass parts. I'm feeling smug as I've just finished setting up my almost-but-not-quite John Wetton tribute bass, which I put together a couple of days ago. -
I’ve gone back to using a head and cab, so my Markbass combo is up for grabs. It’s a great amp, deceptively loud for its size and in good condition (although the handle is looking a bit worse for wear). Looking for £425 collected from Haywards Heath, or I’d be happy to meet halfway within a reasonable distance. Better photos, proof of ownership etc to come but here are some for starters.

I see, you mean "Modify" :). I've done similar in the past, added feet to raise the back to accomodate a source audio hub underneth, then i got a battery power supply and had to cut a slot to access the on/off switch (and then moved it). I'd use the word butcher rarher than modify in my case but yours looks great.

Ive watched the first two episodes and I enjoyed the bits when they weren't focusing on Hooky and Melissa. Nothing against them but I found the small contributions from the other bass players more interesting, especially Mark King, Adam Clayton Daryl Jones. -

They're rubbish!! or maybe you just don't like them
TimR replied to police squad's topic in General Discussion
This is a really good demonstration of exactly what rubbish is. One thing that, to one person, is no longer usable, or fit for purpose, so they are going to throw it away. The same thing, someone else would possibly be prepared to buy from them. The real question is; whether Jean-Luc has thrown it away, sold it, or put it in their spare parts box... I see this sometimes at the local council tip. Wonder why people are throwing things away that look perfectly useful. And I'm sure there's a perfectly good reason for it, but you're not allowed to buy and sell things at the tip. Although I have seen people taking items off people as they're emptying their cars. So is it rubbish, or is it ready to be recycled? A lot of rubbish music seems to have been recycled by various people.
