Barock Project with support from Peter Jones at Trading Boundaries on Thursday night. Love the venue and both artists. Peter Jones on fine, nutty form and got up to do one number he had co-written with BP just him and Luca. The BP bass player couldn’t make it this time so they had his parts recorded - I’d have offered but it gets a bit technical at times 🤣 Had a great night at our favourite venue with #2 son and his g/f. I’d have gone for the second night on Friday if I hadn’t been gigging myself

We'll probably do a KISS in a few years, so all is not lost. Enjoying the death metal though.

Japanese Sadowsky 5 string in very good condition with all the 70’s DNA a five string Jazz Bass could possibly have. Ash body, maple neck/board, bound neck, block inlays. Pickups in 70’s position providing for more clear and tight sound options. Bass is fitted with new Sadowsky single coils and new pre amp with VTC. I can reïnstall the original Sadowsky humfree pickups and pre amp (with no VTC) if desired. Frets are like new and provide for action as low as you like. This is quite an early UV70 which means the neck is not reïnforced with graphite strips as the woods were still top quality. Maybe I am delusional but in my hands I feel a more organic bass that sounds more like wood than the later ones. Not better, but different. Comes with the well known Sadowsky rectangular semi hard case. These are arguably the best '70's Jazz fivers around they are relatively rare (not sure, maybe hundreds or less exist) and they are not being produced anymore. On par with the NYC quality, not with any MIG and MIC I played. Offers considered.

Happy retirement. I quit my covers band of 6 years last autumn, I was a little bored and wanted to chase other projects and the band was gradually winding down as well. I kind of miss the regularity and the friendship though. As Joni said "you don't know what you've got 'till it's gone". I hope it's all sweet for you.

Hi. Just noticed some small pops from my ltd bass, nothing major, but when i'm not playing they appear. Checked inside and everything seems fine, changed batteries and cleaned all pots and connections, and checked the input jack. 3 band eq all works. What am I missing ? I plugged the bass into a HX stomp with headphones and with the volume down on the bass, got some horrible buzz. Could that be a clue ? Cheers. Paul

Sadowsky NYC Original P (2005) Alder body, maple neck, BR RW board 20 fets, 9" radius, 1 1/2" Nut width (J), '59 burst, Vintage neck tint Hardware chrome Weight 3,74kgs Unique Sadowsky NYC. The only one I have ever seen. Action, weight, balance and entire playability is best of the best. Sound is deep like a Precision bass with clarity rather than that quacking Precision sound. Very smooth and well blending. Comes with original Sadowsky rectangular semi hard case.

Great minds think alike 🙂 I've found two sources so far: These from the US https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/404109207020 And from the UK https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/1868463728/pickup-surround-to-fit-us-or-mim-jazz?ls=s&ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=bass+pickup+rings&ref=sr_gallery-1-1&sts=1&loc=1&local_signal_search=1&content_source=180517c7a15b6280b604ffb74fb2af767a0bc58d%3A1868463728&organic_search_click=1&logging_key=180517c7a15b6280b604ffb74fb2af767a0bc58d%3A1868463728

NigeJ started following Last ever cover band gig.

After 33 years, my covers band, The Three Amoebas, grind to a halt. Admittedly we've done naff all for the past few years, with just the odd gig here and there. The band has always been a complete laugh and piss take, doing rock/metal/punk covers the way we want. People have always liked us, possibly because they're usually mates😄. We've been good friends since the eighties, but sort of drifted offvto do other stuff life wise, musically and job wise. The drummer's on Talksport and Planet Rock, and recording his own stuff, the guitarist has his other bands, and I'm doing old school death metal. Our last ever gig is in June. A bit bittersweet, but hey, life goes on.

Here is my very lovely 2013 Ibanez SR500. It's a cracking bass with only a few age related marks. There are no dings or knocks just a bit of play wear and a bit of patina where your arm rests on the body. Here's a few details: Lightweight Mahogany body. Just over 3kg on my scales. Jatoba and Wenge neck. Rosewood Fretboard with 24 frets. 38 mm at the nut. Bartolini Mk1 passive soapbar pickups. EQB 3 band eq. Accu-Cast bridge. 19 mm string spacing. 34" Scale. Ibanez die cast machine heads. This is a lovely played in bass. It looks, sounds and plays lovely. It's another that has to go as l struggle with Arthritis and full scale length. l would like £350 ONO for it please. No trades thanks. l live in Catterick village, North Yorkshire. I would prefer cash on collection but l will post at the buyers expense. I prefer it if you arrange your own courier. I'll pack it properly for shipping. Thanks for looking 👍

Clearly, this shirt is a call to solo in the highest registers all the time.

priceless

Apparently it was modelled on some pictures from their 1981 gig at the Port Vale FC ground. ♠️

Rather odd that there is no mention of the salary that such a position justifies. One may 'call the shots' when one is signing large cheques.
-
Looking at the influences this guy seems to think it’s still the 1980s when record companies were still throwing money at bands. Not sure I would want to be involved in any hard slog crawl to getting anywhere with this guy. Probably best hitching your wagon to the next taylor swift if you’re planning on hanging around with a diva.

I had a B3 forever, decided to upgrade to the B2 Four and have been happy so far. It's the most comparable model in terms of functionality, although I miss some of the effects that were in the B3. It's good though, and has done good improvements, the dedicated bypass footswitch is great. The B6 was not a consideration for me, I only use a handful of effects really. I was curious about the Boss GT1-B too, but never got to try one out.

I was gigging my board last night and if I shifted it for ana Ana I’d only miss the tone it’s giving me - recently flirted with a HX Stomp again but in the AB test my board won. I think the pedal I’m most likely to add is the Kaamos. It’s able to do double duty of Alpha Omega and the octave down options. While I’m enjoying the Anangram videos I just know a multi would be wasted on me as cool as it is I have two or three sounds which are basically the same just with increasing drive. Now to torture myself thinking about a kaamos. 😀🤣
