Groove as ‘micro-timing’? 🤔 - ’Micro-timing is in the heart’ - ’One nation under a micro-timing’ - ‘Micro-time me’ - ‘Get into the micro-time’ Nah 😊

Why would I want a less gainey amp with a cleaner sound? I chose Orange for the Orange sound.

Anyone Recognise Any Of The Signatures?
binky_bass replied to binky_bass's topic in General Discussion
Duff's signature is from 2007 so it can't be from 2011. I'm almost certain the vast majority of signatures are from after 28th September 2007 but not too far from that date as thats the date of build of the guitar according to the serial number. So far I'm pretty sure this guitar has the following signatures on it: Alice Cooper Geezer Butler Duff McKagan Francis Rossi Rick Parfitt Steven Tyler Kerry King Meat Loaf Black Stone Cherry Mick Ralph Ian Hunter Jeff Wayne After some AI assisted Internet searching, it does very much appear to be legitimate... The signature placements match to these evidential pictures: -

If this is just for home use then it makes sense to get something small, low powered and visually appealing. That way you can leave it out in the open and it doesn't make your front room look like a storage area. They aren't toys, they're amps for specific use cases, albeit very few of them sound like a "proper" amp. I've been pretty blown away by how the PJB BG-75 sounds as a living room amp if you can stomach the price, even at low volume (and it can get surprisingly loud) it just sounds like a great bass amp with no compromises. Can get them in red and white as well as black.

Schroeder/Markbass setup - blown away!
BassAdder60 replied to pantherairsoft's topic in Amps and Cabs
Around 20yrs ago I spoke with Mr Schroeder ( Joerg ?? ) in the USA and he built me a Bass cab ( cannot remember the model ) and at the time i was gigging with either Ashdown or Ampeg amps It was a very different design with the way two speakers were mounted in the cabinet but it sounded huge for its size. I ended up selling it and using an SVT 610 and SVT-CL amp for the most of the time I think he did well in the USA but not much in Europe as it never made it to the more popular stores -

Glad you said it Lawrie, what a horror 🤔

Wild guess - could be from download 2011? Duff played, Alice Cooper played and black stone cherry played. No aerosmith though or Geezer

Do you think people who only have fretted basses might see the title of this thread and think "well that's not for me, I'll move on" and then give you a result which is quite inaccurate?

Double bass rebuild - not for the faint of heart!
Hellzero replied to The Guitar Weasel's topic in EUB and Double Bass
Top notch resurrection, congratulations! I was a bit sceptical about the choice of the finish, but it looks very nice as it is, with that touch of class. -
I've delayed a bit in responding to this but there's been a lot going in in my head with how I can learn from it. I've already been in touch with Wub (if you know, you know) and I'm about 2 weeks away from a new fuzz. Thank you very much for sharing that post. i loves a posh pedal board.

Schroeder is name I haven't seen used for many, many years. I have never seen one out in the wild. -
They just sort of appeared in my vicinity. After the first few I made some good friends within the company and more started popping up wherever I was 😁 Next thing I knew I'd at least one of every model from 1978 to 2010. Wish Peavey had made stamps, be a damn sight easier to store 🤣

Talking of Elton John, it was great to see David Paton in the band. Looked like a vintage P Bass he was playing. Another great unsung bass player. So clever, so tasteful, so inventive. It must have been around that time that he was playing on tracks for Elton's Ice On Fire album, including Nikita which was a classic example of an ,'80s big hit where the bass guitar is so prominent like you seldom hear on pop records nowadays.

Congratulations on your first bass...

AKA: replace the ECC83 tubes with ECC81 tubes. They're not as gainey and give a cleaner sound.
