  1. Past hour
  2. Think they look great. String spacing too wide for me, but it is something that long fingered freak people have been wanting for a long time!
  3. Price drop now £350 collected.
  4. I use the chocolate plus for my Source Audio C4 and it's an absolute gamechanger (especially when SA insist on midi adapters etc)... They're unbelievable value at £30, the battery lasts ages too!
  5. I looked at the DG pedal but at £200 I wasn't sure I wanted to go there for my needs so I got a MVave Chocolate Plus. It's got 4 buttons which have 2 actions (long and short press) so you have in effect 8 different operations. You can also set it up so that by pressing A&B or C&D together can change to a new bank of MIDI functions (max 8 banks). If I could only remember what I programmed and where I stored it, it would give me approx. 64 diferent commands! I have mine setup so that the MVave can quickly switch between presets & banks and my Anagram takes care of the scenes / stomp operations. The instructions for setting it up are not very clear at all so I had to do some internet digging to find out. Mine is powered / connected via the USB post so I dont have to worry about remembering to recharge it. Since setting it up its been rock solid with no glitches. Until such times as MIDI gets more fully integrated I dont think I'll get any extra value from the DG pedal for what I do.
  6. Here are a few scanned pictures from this period ... A trade show @ 1983 / 84 Ashley at the trade show ... Me and Ashley in his workshop (@ 1983 / 84) Some Chieftains being assembled ... A view inside the workshop ...
  7. Well to be fair I’m only comparing the two in my post. I’ve never used the WS1100’s. i went through quite a few headphones when we went in to lockdown and settled on the AT’s (twice), but then the 700 pro x came out. I had also tried the 770’s but found them too warm and my ears would sweat too much. I do prefer the sound of the AT’s but find the 700’s easier to EQ. I think our ears get used to whatever we use quite quickly. One plus for me is the AT’s sound very similar to my IEM’s, so i tend to have a familiar sound at gigs.
  8. It's done! It will be with me next week, pics to follow once it lands
  9. with an absolute tw@t of a guitarist.... (spoken from experience)
  10. Does the A&H CQ desk not have the equivilent of the Behringer personal mixers that are good for headphone outs? With the XR18 (or 32 or whatever), you could use a single P16-D to route personalised stereo feeds to 16 IEM setups (through individual P16s). I doubt you would ever need to but I assume you could actually stack those!
  11. Made in Indonesia...
  12. I think this depends on the capability of your desk. If it can deliver a tailored monitor mix to your IEMs, then you can go directly from the desk to your Swiff or U45 with no need for the Rolls. Our old Soundcraft MTK analogue desk provided 2 aux outs with personalised mixes, plus 2 group + 1 headphone out that were FoH mixes. Our current A&H CQ desk can provide up to 6 personalised monitor outs, which is ideal for a small band using IEMs (although additional outputs could be useful if we want to have personal stereo mixes down the line - not possible with the U45 btw as that is mono).
  13. I had no idea Bunde (can't do umlauts on this keyboard, unfortunately) was German for fret. I used to live near the town called Bunde in the eastern region of NRW, back in the day. Anyway, bass looks great, good luck with the sale!
  14. If you’re open to a bit of flexibility on the price, I’d be happy to take them, mate. I’m based in London and only a couple of hours away from you, so getting over to Cardiff wouldn’t be an issue. Let me know if we can work something out. cheers
  15. I have been listening most of every day to help me get through....I'm hoping Iron Maiden will make too 20 at least. I missed few hours , has Hallowed be thy name been played yet?
  16. Yes, I wouldn't be aware of what Ashley was doing in detail from late 84 onwards. I seem to remember he wanted an eq with some upper mid punch for live slap bass projection which is why I did those but I'm not sure how successful they were, a bit esoteric. I have visited Tangshan, on two occasions plus the surrounding areas, some of her relatives are in Tangshan, others in Zunhua, Beijing and Shijiazhuang and her elderly parents live in a small country village outside Zunhua called Yuyingfancun. We laid flowers at the Tangshan earthquake memorial site which has an avenue of large stone tablets with inscriptions of the names of those who perished. We hope to go again next summer. My wife remembers the earthquake. At the time she was with her grandmother and parents near Zunhua. She was a young girl then and remembers her grandmother grabbing her from bed and running outside the house thinking a war had started or something. The earthquake was so powerful it was felt fairly strongly in that area too which is @ 90 minutes drive north of Tangshan.
  17. Just to add, I also have two barefaced super midgets which I tend to use the most....volume considering the small size is really good although the tweeters are fairly poor in my opinion.
  18. Can’t remember, feel free to have a gander https://www.hellorayo.co.uk/planet-rock/news/rock-news/the-500-greatest-rock-songs-of-all-time
  19. Oops! I’ve plainly touched a nerve there. I merely mentioned them as a newer rock band (metal or otherwise) who are post ‘60s/‘70s who made an appearance, against the poll’s general grain. FWIW I don’t mind them and wouldn’t try to pigeonhole them stylistically, their version of Bad Company or Black on Blue certainly isn’t metal in my book.
  20. Have Velvet Revolver, Airbourne, or Black Stone Cherry made an entrance yet?
  21. that's interesting because I sent the M-50X's back because they didn't have a the pronounced bass of the WS1100's, which from my perspective are far and away the best headphones I've ever used, shame they've stopped making them
  22. Today
  23. Hi all, I’ve been playing bass for many years across a range of settings, mostly on electric, and have followed Basschat for quite some time. I’ve picked up plenty of useful insight here over the years, so it seemed only right to finally join in. Happy to contribute where I can and always interested in hearing how others approach things
  24. Folks, I've started a new topic for the 2026 Bash. Let's continue discussions over there.
  25. Thought it'd be a good idea to start a new thread for this one, as there's more to organise/discuss.
