  2. Anyone own Limelight #00126? I sold it probably around 2016/2017 before I quit playing, I’d love to be reunited with it.

  3. Looking forward to it!
  4. They’re not too concerned because it probably happens all the time to them 🤔
  5. I say "kinda" because I don't yet have a working pedal: I have a pile of parts and a soldering iron. It won't look exactly like the one on the Parasit website, since I don't have the top label, just a bare metal case. The kit came from MusikDing in Germany. I don't even have knobs yet, and labels will be rudimentary at best. The ITU is a guitar synth / fuzz based on the CMOS 4046 Phase Locked Loop (PLL) chip. Not the full Schumann PLL circuit design, but a simpler version whose closest analogue is probably the Earthquaker Devices Bit Commander. The ITU does have some extra features, over that, including 1 / 2 octave up & down switches (not much use on bass?), a Warp control, a LFO, and (I think) more control over tracking. Oh, and it's 1/4 the price. The PLL tries to track and follow an incoming signal, outputting a square wave at the same frequency in its simplest use case (fuzz). A circuit like this inserts clock dividers on both the output (for octaves down) or on the "comparator" circuit (for octaves up). It lets you mess with the tracking for a "laggy" feel on the octave up, letting you blend three voices total. Square waves are not subtle but the filter can take the edge off. I have a 4-day weekend from Thursday and hope to make a start on the soldering. CMOS chips don't like static electricity, so I'll need to be careful in handling them, but the kit includes chip sockets. When it's done I'll see about photos and maybe video clips. I haven't seen found any YT videos of this pedal on bass, so it might be a first.
  6. I've only ever bought two new basses in 35 years. All the rest are 2nd hand/pre-loved/used and/or part exchanges. The bass I'm using for the C&W gig next month (a Squire PJ) cost me £100 and got compliments from our sound engineer at rehearsals.
  7. Yes, I did do that, so I'm pretty sure that's not the cause. Also, I've had similar experience with DDT strings which have a hex core (and I think are stainless steel) so if there is a difference it's probably in the make up of the string. I've noted that DR strings have more layers of thinner wrap wire, so maybe that's the difference? I'm not after a very bright sound and even with the Pure Blues I prefer them once they've settled in a bit. My gripe isn't so much the longevity per se but that when they do start to go dull, they go very dull very quickly. I have a couple of other basses strung up with D'Addario and Ernie Ball (both also nickel wound) so I'll see how they behave. How often do you guys change you strings? The Pure Blues have been on for about six months (probably an average of an hour of play each day) and are now really too dull to do anything useful. Cheers!
  8. Whatsapp works for me too but no response to my last trade enquiry. I traded elsewhere in the end.
  9. TBH i'd never heard of her but watching some youtube clips i can see why Geddy and Alex picked her. She has a wonderfully accurate style of playing. Not pure power but precise and just some really nice playing. I guess they had their choice of many many drummers out there but they need to feel comfortable with whoever fills that spot and i reckon she will do a brilliant job. I've always been a huge fan of Neil's playing since first hearing them in 76 with 2112 but Neil changed his technique and for me Anika sounds very like him. This should be a great tour. I probably wont go as i just hate concerts these days with people yapping all around me to the point you can't hear the band. Bring back the days when people at concerts were there to see and hear the band and not the latest gossip from their pals. Thats my hissy fit for tonight. 😂 Dave
  10. Your right, it's a conspiracy.
  11. Isn't she still doing bird for selling skunk to a spider called Anansi. You must have read about it. It was all over the web.
  12. Back on topic I decided to get a spare amp or second amp as it will share duties ( not at the same time ) Found pre amps in front of amp slightly less rewarding and nothing gained particularly
  13. “They” 🙂
  14. I’ve got a few bits and pieces I’ll bring for sale or swaps if anyone is interested. Got a bunch of Schaller tuners, some bridges, TC BQ250, and probably some other bits. Got a couple of bits for the raffle too.
  15. Brought a small Laney amp from Kim. Absolute pleasure to work with. Less than zero issues as he went well beyond what I would have hoped and expected from him. A true gent and the next time I'm New Cross way I'll happily buy him a coffee.
  16. I sold Rob a little Laney 15 valve combo and it was a great transaction! Rob was excellent to deal with and I dropped the amp over with a freind of his who lives around the corner. Great to do business with him and I hope the amp gets some good use now! Thanks for buying, Rob!

  18. Drawing up a stage plot diagram with notes can be useful in these situations. IIRC there’s specialised online tools to help do this.
  19. I am selling this cool Darkglass Alpha Omega pedal. I don't think it needs much introduction but here are the specs: https://www.darkglass.com/en-gb/products/ao As a huge Karnivool fan, I had to buy it. However, I clearly don't have Jon Stockman's skills 😉 The pedal is in great condition and comes with all the usual DG goodies. There is some velco at the bottom of the pedal (in the four corners). Here is the official sales ad when I bought it earlier this year: https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/510669-sold-darkglass-alpha-omega/#comment-5446017 As you can see, I have priced it to sell. I am not interested in any trades as I need the funds for our never ending house renovation project. Shipping will cost extra and the exact amount will depend on the kind of courier you prefer (e.g., Evri will be cheaper than FedEx) and the level of insurance (e.g., none or fully insured).

  22. If it was the shop I’m thinking of they sent me a bass with a stuck truss rod. Fair play they refunded me straight away but then advertised the bass for sale (without mentioning the fault). Dodgy.
  23. Itsy bitsy teeny weeny yellow polka dot bikini - Bombalurina
  24. Again, stillI don't really know what reverse misogyny is or how I would be involved. I never said it was a fact that they had chosen a female drummer to divert comparisons with Peart, I explicitly said I didn't know. I just said it was very significant that they had, and that would be the effect. They have created a narrative of how and why they chose her. I was reading it this afternoon. And as with any narrative, what's left out can be as important as what's included.
  25. Possibly the best 5 word formation available in the English language. 😆
