  2. P!sh! You'll be back. Enjoy!
  3. Would you spend the time getting the best sound out of an amp? Probably. And you would do it at ‘gig volume’. Could you get an acceptable sound from an amp the 1st time you used it. Also probably. Would be the same with a Stomp/ other HX. You just need to apply the same principles and use your ears.
  4. So, like I said. It doesn't answer the questions.
  5. Girls Just Wanna Have Bun - Cyndi Lauper
  6. Hang on. Not this then? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fanny_by_Gaslight_(film)
  7. Hi All, Genuine rare US-made Musicman Sub for sale. 4 string, passive. Comes with a soft gig bag with assorted spare strings and a strap. Selling because I no longer use it. Good bits: Good usable condition Fantastic tone Recent strings Intonation good It does NOT have the original plastic pickguard with the metallic pattern on it - I hated this and replaced it with a far nicer looking item. There is a chip on the main body near the volume pots as you can see in the photos. There are a few marks on the back of the neck too. Neither of these have any impact on the feel and sound of the instrument - it's a gorgeous piece of kit and comes from a relatively small run of 'Sport Utility Basses' (hence SUB) apparently Musicman lost money on these and didn't make them for long. Would prefer to meet up rather than post 'cos it's heavy! Looking for £650 ono.
  8. The setup of most of these multi effects units is fairly similar really. Just take it effect by effect. You want an overdrive? Test all of them and see what suits you best. A chorus? Same deal. Rinse and repeat untill you've got a patch together. It does take longer than just getting a pedal and putting it on a board because there are more options, but it affords you the opportunity to try a lot of things out. I'm using an amp sim with no cab for a distortion - sounds great to my ears! I used my GX-100 as a pedalboard for a long time, turning on and off effects on the one patch. I've recently decided to spend a bit more time setting up presets for different sections of songs so I can step through them. As you get more familiar with any device you can get it doing new things in time. That's where the real power lies, but there's not necessarily a need to rush to that end game. You'll probably have been through this with your B3, but it's been so long that you've gotten comfortable with it. It can be good to challenge yourself with something new. It keeps the old grey matter ticking over.
  9. Sitting on the Dock of the Bagel - Otis Redding
  10. This is precisely the experience I have had with them. The staff on the shop floor are absolutely hopeless, they can find all the time in the world to make Instagram posts and take photos of famous bassists that come into the shop, but no time to actually communicate with customers. Appalling.
  11. How do you find the initial ease of setup for the HX? The idea of having to spend hours building presets is a little overwhelming and looking at most of the info online around them, it appears this is needed to get the best out of them. As a fairly busy ( I like to think) bassist. I don’t want to spend a tonne of time working out how to build sounds. Or maybe this is the case with majority of more in depth multis and missing a trick?
  12. I'm in Belgium and would like to know what are my options in claiming warranty for a second hand bass (made in UK) What is the situation in UK regarding warranty on second hand products? The bass was made in 2024. I got a bass in a trade. I noticed a problem with the sound/volume balance when trying it out but i thought it could be solved with a setup or string change. The previous owner played with a compressor so according to him didn't notice the problem. -------------------------- I'd surmise from the above that the buyer is in EU, bought from a private individual. It isn't clear if the seller was in EU or UK but I'm not sure it is relevant. The OP seems to want to claim against the manufacturer which 'likely' puts the onus on the buyer to prove the item design/manufacture isn't fit for purpose... I'd guess buying and fitting a new pup is cheaper. Of course the OP could ask the seller to take it back but I'm guessing that isn't an option, especially as we are talking about the sale of a used item between private individuals. Personally I think the OP might end up putting a lot of time, effort and maybe even money into 'trying' to resolve this. It's a bitter pill but if OP and seller can't resolve it, I'd just be putting efforts into sorting the bass. Saying that we don't know if this is a £200 or £20k bass.
  13. After The Gold Brioche - Neil Young
  14. I don't think so, but I think it's quite an interesting etymology of a very commonly used term
  15. I have the MVave/Lekato cube turner and it is good, but I tend to use the MVave Chocolate now, battery good, but 4 buttons, so page up / down, song back / next using onsong
  16. As above in good condition. Gigged (not extensively) so not pristine. An easy one man lift. Has built in wheels too for ease of movement. 1200w @4ohm so powerful enough for any situation. I'm using in ears mostly now and so don’t need such a powerful cab but would px with cash my way for an original BF Midget or Compact 15 possobly a Super 3rd. I’ve found some photos of the cab from around Christmas time and put them up. The cab is in the rehearsal room and I don’t have access until next week to take some recent pics but it looks more or less just like it does in the pics below. Collection from BB22SH, meet depending on distance. Postage possible at buyers cost and risk. Will be well packed though.

  17. Reduced now to a silly bargain at only £600. May consider a trades and some cash my way (keep the wife happy!) for a class D lightweight bass amp that does 2ohms, or John East Retro deluxe.
  18. Fantastic bass pedal that covers you from overdrive to distortion and fuzz - gated as well. Just not playing in bands so I'm moving some gear - fantastic condition, #006 ☺️
  19. Not really. It doesn't say where the original buyer is located or if the bass was bought directly from the manufacturer or through a shop. It also doesn't say where the OP bought it, did they buy it from the original buyer in the UK, or in Belgium?

  21. I'm using this model since so many years and as it's rocking you can put it anywhere under the neck, it will always fit perfectly: https://guitarsandwoods.com/guitar-neck-rest.html
