Love that dressing room. Daryl
-
We're back at The Bend Theatre this Saturday night, opening for Reverend Raven. Catered dressing room and we play a 45 minute set. My type of gig. Maple Road By presenting an eclectic blend of blues, rock, and folk jams, Maple Road is a band that does not fall short of keeping an audience entertained and intrigued. While honoring musical heroes and legends, the group also strives to craft original and memorable tunes that allow each band member and the audience to interpret the music. FaitalPRO 12PR320 12" X 2
JPJ posted a topic in Accessories & Other Musically Related Items For Sale
I have a pair of new old stock FaitalPRO 12PR320 12" drivers sitting here doing nowt. This is the driver used in the Basschat 1x12” cab design (Mk1 I believe). I was going to build a 2x12 cab using these but then a lovely Vanderkley 2x12 came up local to me so the project has been shelved. I also have a complete set of good quality plywood panels to construct the 2x12 available to go with them but due to the weight, the plywood will be collection only. So £250 collected, or buyer to pay postage on the drivers. Plywood available as a package deal with the drivers for an additional £50 but collection only.-

What are your irrational prejudices? I have some bonkers ones...
Geek99 replied to kwmlondon's topic in General Discussion
I was in Morrisons and this geezer kept apologising for each time that he kept reaching in front of me. Polite… but he stank like a corpse dipped in brine and coated in liquid dead guitarist with chocolate sprinkles - my thought was “jeez, soap is neither expensive nor a second thought, dude” Hang on .. you said “irrational” -
Stub Mandrel started following Fallen Out Of Love With Fretless

For me fretless has always been a bit like an effects pedal... something you only pull out when it fits the song. That said, last year I got carried away and played a whole blues set on mine. The audience reacted as if they'd never seen a fretless before, which was good for the ego 😁 but I've resisted repeating the exercise except the odd rehearsal.

Musicman Stingray 5 always seems to have a great sounding B string from my experience owning them. My USA Std Jazz 5 from about 20 years ago had a fair to average sounding B as did a couple of their MiM jazz basses from that same era. I owned a few USA Dimension Elite and Std 5 strings and the B was better but not quite as defined as an SR5. The L-2500 I owned also fell short of the StingRay 5. Lakland 5s are imo a good choice for a good sounding B. I've owned a 55-60,a 55-AJ and a 55-02 which I still have, and they've all been great in this respect. They're 35" scale length but dont feel any bigger to me than a SR5. And like fretmeister said, I do find it a bit annoying that I have to generally buy a 0.045 set to get a .130 B string. I prefer 0.040 on the top but something with a bit more meat on it than a .125 for the B 🤨

Inactive can push pretty much light in the activation phase, and it decays... you know it is a lot like ADSR. It gets lower and lower during next hours. I have tested an inactive material that was visible for around 75 hours in total darkness after activation. Super-Luminova is a Strontium based material, but as it wasn't available as powder (powder was mixed with a printing material, kind of a paint), the material tested was from another company. Active material (most common and practically only available to consumers is Tritium) has a sustain and release time of 12.5 years. Actually you can see some glow for around 25 years, but the latter half is already low. Some data can be found here: https://www.rctritec.com/en https://www.nemoto.co.jp/en/

Never been higher than three, one acoustic and purely for jamming. 4 string is a constant since 2005 (she bought it) 5 string is latest in a fairly short line of jazz bass, p bass, this five string YEAH I know #lettingthesidedown #notaproperBCmember #hejustdoesnotgettherelentlessaquisitionthing #heycouldbeworse_leastimnotaguitard

Sounds great @manol! Lovely looking bass too. Great colour and the binding really sets it off 👌

Yes, it is. It’s actually a clear one, with a celluloid, tort sheet under it (it’s the same thing stuff they stick on acoustic guitars). The whole thing is a custom build, ordered way before they introduced their configurator. 33” scale, chambered, drop D tuner, 41mm nut width, passive (control 3 is a series/single/parallel rotary). In addition to the scratchplate, I’ve upgraded the pickup to a Delano and added the Sadowsky type knobs. Weighs in at 3.2kg (in true UK style, I’ve mixed my weights and measures between metric and imperial, what other country does that? Fuel bought in litres, but economy measured in mpg is another example). Ta, it really is. Ordered back when Maruszczyk were just starting to get some traction here.

Silky999 started following Hipshot 1/2 “ USA Ultralite bushing adapters
-
Folks, Just a heads up that the 18mm adapters for USA 1/2” ultralites are getting harder and more expensive to source. I have just bought some tuners from Lozz on here and thought I would get some adapters in as I have before for previous builds. Whether it is Trump’s Tariffs or just supply issues but they are impossible to source in the UK and I was left with two options; direct from USA costing $70 to ship alone or order from Germany at €36 including shipping. Bear in mind that these are normally £5 each from Bassdirect so max of £20-plus shipping. I think I will have to rethink my tuner choices on builds going forward.
