  1. Past hour
  2. I don't have any - I must be getting quite Zen with age!
  3. sennheiser ew- vocal mic MI Pro MI58 IEM lekato 5.8 guitar ws-60 IIRC never had any problems
  4. Five of us cellists from orchestra got together yesterday for a pleasant lunch followed by playing music arranged for cello quartets and quintets. Event was hosted by one of the cellists in a rather nice house with stunning views.
  5. blocks on a p bass...........NO it's ok if you've put a jazz bass neck on it though
  6. For sale is the Microtubes B7K Ultra V2 which has the AUX input as well. Great sounding pedal with amazing ability to sculp both the tone on the preamp side and the distortion on the drive side of the pedal. There is some very impressive sounds that can be had out of this pedal. The pedal comes with the original box and all the goodies that came with it. I bought this pedal 3-4 years ago but the sound is a bit too much for the bands I am in. I was always hoping to use it but it has literally sat in the box the whole time. I had thought I might use it also as an emergency DI for gigs but I have never needed it. I would be really interested in trades for Iron Ether Nimbus and/or Polytope because the funds coming from this will go towards those pedals. If I was playing heavier music this pedal would absolutly be staying. £270, £260 including postage. Bank transfer or PayPal F&F.
  7. Seconded - also another vote for the Empress compressor.
  8. It's a great idea, I'm not personally keen on the lower horn shape but they do sound fantastic. If you can get hold of some measurements for me, I'll definitely be able to provide you with an answer.

  10. Fake Happy - Paramore
  11. If you like compression, Id suggest a compressor pedal rather than the onboard. There are some decent inexpensive ones. Ive gone a bit more high end with the Empress Bass Compressor - Brilliant bit of gear
  12. Hi. What is the weight please? thanks
  13. Only The Lonely - Roy Orbison
  14. I don’t have a Z3 (yet) - was thinking of picking one up as a modding project, specifically to put one of these necks on!
  15. Thanks again for the replies. I put a new JJ valve in when I got it used late last year. Had an Eden in it and the very mild overdrive sounded fizzy and high pitched. I emailed Ashdown and Dave Green replied in about 10 minutes and answered a question and recommended JJ for it. Helped a Yank like me (twice) with nothing to gain but good will and made me even more of an Ashdown fan. Love that company! After some brief experimenting at home I found the following: I can get it to hit into the red if I play hard (with another Pbass), which I don't typically do, so that's clearly some of it. I notice more overdrive compression disengaged, but I like a little so I'm figuring that out a bit. I'll have to try the old Pbass and see how that goes, but I think I may not be having as much of a problem as I thought. At rehersal I don't have time to be fooling with the amp, so I'm limited on what I can notice and adjust.
  16. Interesting. It's not just a change in ownership that can hurt a band. If you lose your main contact you can end up back on the streets too. We had a great on going gig at The Wilson Performing Arts Center. Our contact got fired and we never got asked back. Daryl
  17. Agreed. It's the " Don't Stop Believing " type cover bands that bring the women in. Daryl
  18. I think we had a theatre gig earlier this year. The dressing room had a refrigerator stocked with beer & wine. I heard some rumblings that a band member and a friend drank the thing dry. We're going back in October to open for a national act. Lol Daryl
  19. Me Myself I - Joan Armatrading

  22. Pipe freezing spray sold by Wikes, Screwfix etc. For temporarily blocking water pipes. Judiciously applied to a nitro finish it causes the same cracking of the finish as decades of less dramatic temperature changes.
  23. First the bad news: These are traditonal technology speakers - No light weight speakers or cabinets. Hence these weigh in at 46Kg each, which is why I am moving them on, just too heavy for me to lug around anymore. Also the foam fronts are completely shot and need replacing if you want foam fronts. Apart from that if it is all positive. These are Shermann speakers, serious professional bits of kit - see the reviews. I know that almost everything claims to be professional these days, but these really are. These speakers are 770mm high 480mm wide at the font and 250mm wide at the back. and weigh 46Kg each!. They are probably about 30 years old, so traditional technology & desgin, hence the weight. Not the sort of weight I want to be lugging about anymore, hence moving them on. Can't see it on the photgraph, but I believe that the 15" bass units are Beymer, the tweeters are definitely and the 6.5" mirange are both Audix. Shermann informed me that they are 8 ohm, and are good for at least 400W each (See attached notes from Shermann). Despite being 30 years old these still sound as good as ever, as far as I can tell. They were oginally installed at the Theatr Hafren, Newtown, Powys, and we bought them from Shermann when they we theatre was being upgraded. - and had top hats fitted at the same time. I have used them in folk dance bands (including a sousaphone) and rock bands for front of house - easily enough to fill a typical pub or village hall, and even used them outside in a pub garden and for PA and background music on a village playing field. They have also been used as side-fill foldback on a pretty large stage. The weight is a downside, for portable use, but they would be ideal for someone considerably younger/stronger than me, or for use in a permantent installation. Unlikely to need subs with these unless you are a dub nut or something. One of my tests for a PA system is the human voice, and these are brilliant for that,i.e. apart from the volume you wouldn't know that they are there! I attach various photos. As I say I'm looking for £350 for the pair. As you will have guessed, pickup only, but that gives you the chance to try them out! Due to its weight: COLLECTION ONLY, but that gives you the chance to try it out. NOTE THAT: As part of the clear out I have listed/will soon be listing: Laney 100W 15" combo. Behringer BEQ3012 two channel 32 band equaliser with feedback detection. Two Shermann PA cabinets (15" + 6" + tweeter). Seriously professional bits of kit. 12 + 4 15m Snake cable/box 12 + 4 25m Snake cable/box Behringer FBQ6200 32 band, 2 channel equaliser with feedback detection. Large base tall lighting Various LED lighting units & controllers Ibanez SR505 Bass.
  24. Same here, mine is always on my board, such a great pedal, pretty rare to see one for sale these days, somebody needs to grab a bargain!
  25. The only way you’ll ever solve this is by just trying a load… like, as many as you possibly can. Every OD changes its timbre with every combination of bass, amp, cab, impedance load of other pedals etc. That said, I can do what everyone else here has done and tell you which OD pedals have worked for me. Sounds like you are looking for low gain, a bit of grit and warmth, enough to give you break up and drive other pedals into a bit more of a snarly state. As such, I have used and loved the following for that purpose… Fuzzrocious Demon. Fuzzrocious Broke Dick Peanut Gallery. Fuzzrocious Li’l Fella (I have one for sale, wink wink). (So, basically everything Ryan at Fuzzrociousmakes!) Ampeg Scrambler (I think it sucks at high gain, but it really shines at low gain break up). Horrothia Teeth (my new fav, but still in the honeymoon period). Fulltone Mosfet Bass Drive (there are some clones out there I think that are cheaper). COG Knightfall (any version). Damnation Audio MBD (most people like this on nasty settings, but I think it’s best at low gain). EBS Valve Drive (the pedal is huge though). Mad Professor Blueberry. Many of these are very versatile, suit many playing styles and set ups and venture into high gain, or even fizz territory, but I’m recommending them specifically for their low gain applications. Time to go watch some demos!
