Ridiculously easy but I need a bit of respite as I am grinding my way through something more challenging, the Kermit Driscoll bass part tot he tune 'Bill The Kid - Celebration After Billy's Capture' from the 1993 Bill Frisell album, 'Have A Little Faith'. About five notes in the whole thing. https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/billy-the-kid-celebration-at-billys-capture-bill-frissel/

Many of the LED output ratings on AliExpress seem to be exaggerated so I've been careful to look for a UKing product code (e.g. ZQ02356) and check the spec on the UKing site before buying via AliExpress. The prices fluctuate quite a bit and the ads can be quite misleading too (e.g. a picture of 4 lights but the price is for 1 light) so it pays to take care before you 'checkout'.

This may be a regrettable sale. I’m finally playing bass in a band and need something a bit more P/J. I’ve owned this bass since 2009 and have loved and cherished it. It’s well set up and plays lovely. It’s never really left my studio until recently. It comes with the original fender hard case. I can look into shipping but I’d rather it be collected. Let me know if you need anything else. 3c1934a7-910c-4ce0-9268-746e03ecfd29.mov

The Short Scale Bass Appreciation Society!
The fasting showman replied to Baloney Balderdash's topic in Bass Guitars
I've no link to the sale at all but there's a short scale Jaydee Roadie for sale at Bass Bros. I've no funds whatsoever for such a thing but it's a really interesting bass for JMJ mustang money. -
Our current lighting setup is as follows. Two T-bars (gravity stands), each with 2 x pars (UKing ZQ01069) and 2 x moving heads (UKing ZQ02021) Two floor standing moving heads (UKing ZQO2356) Two floor standing pars (LEDJ 7Q5) ADJ 4 stream DMX with ADJ Airstream pro app on iPad Martin Magnum 800 smoke machine The aims were as follows and I'm please to say that we've managed to achieve all three. All of the UKing lights were bought from AliExpress and were cheaper than buying direct from UKing. 1. Get brighter stage lights than we previously had. 2. Make the light show more interesting. 3. Fund it all by selling our existing lights

I think one of their strengths is a broad range of influences. The one influence they all share is Muse but between them, theres everything from classical to Napalm Death. That and all of them absolutely love playing music. They're working hard, hopefully they'll get somewhere with it but for now, they're loving what they're doing.

I’ve met Danny a couple of times and chatted a bit online. He’s a really nice lad, a pretty decent player too and his Instagram stuff is funny and at least a change from the stuff that’s normally stuffed down your throat on the daily. He’s easy enough to avoid if it’s not your bag but kudos to him for making a living from all things Bass/BEHS

Jesus. Who were the judges? He landed some licks but in general it was pretty sloppy. Meanwhile young bassists who can play (and unknown to most of us) are busy with real world gigs.

I have Chauvet Obey 40 4x QTX LED parcans (4 channel) 4x Mini Led spots (6 channel) Galaxian Gem LED Moonflower and Lazer (5 channel) 2x 8 Led Moving Head lights (7/12 Channel modes) With the wireless I'm ulltimately planning on having 2 pairs of parcans either side of the stage linked locally by cable with a wireless receiver on each pair. The Moving Heads just linked with a single cable and wireless reciever to one. 4x mini spots along the front all linked via cable with 1st one wireless receiver. The Laser/moonflower to light the audience I'm thinking it can go anywhere now, where previously it was behind the band - not ideal. But it doesn't seem to have many useful modes. Just speed and direction of rotation of the laser and 8 preset chases for the moonflower plus speed. I'm likely to operate the moving heads by switching between sound mode so they pan and tilt on their own, and then stop with a set colour as a chase. Programming in a slow pan and tilt is a mission that I haven't got to grips with yet. The kit comes with 3 receivers, but can add more later.

Skillsaw. Length of 4x2. 2x serious builder clamps. Regular saw. Clamp your 4x2 on for a runner to guide your skillsaw as it slices through the midline. Go all the way around and finish off any partition or slot port or bracing remains inside with your saw. Anything cut with the hamd saw will likely need an extra bit sanded off to account for skinnier teeth. Piece of 12mm plywood, enough to make 2 new sides. Extra feet etc. 4x10 becomes 2/ 2x10 pdq.

I'm hoping he'll do a three part series featuring Peter Hook, Melissa Auf der Maur and Nate Mendel. Then we'll really have something to grumble about 😁

Another talented band.👍 Maybe the future of music won't be so bad after all?

Learn Binary, you may find some fixtures still have dip switches for addressing. But it helps if you can visualise the assignments. Try and assign each DMX fixture 8 channels (or one page) even if they only need 5 or 6. Some may need 12 or more, but most seem to need at least more than 4 but less than 8. Then set them out logically before plugging any DMX cables in. Parcan 1 - Address 1 - 00000001 Parcan 2 - Address 9 - 00001001 Parcan 3 - Address 17 - 00010001 Parcan 4 - Address 25 - 00011001 Etc. Although if you are using software this is probably less important.
