Best gig I ever went to was The Ramones at the Humming Bird Birmingham in around 1993. My one slight regret that by the time was old enough to see them Dee Dee had left the band. Still both he and the rest of the band were a huge influence on me from the first time I heard them in my early teens & I'm glad I got to see them a couple of years before they finally stopped touring. -

With tweaks or not, it actually is another way to go. A guitar preamp with some amount of clean sound mixed in. Why not?

Hi all, I'm moving into a smaller flat soon, so I'm selling a large chunk of my music equipment. For this reason, I'm letting go of the following Rockboard pedalboards and mods/accessories. For the two bigger pedalboards, pick-up from Durham would be preferred, but shipping can be arranged. Pictures will follow this afternoon. Rockboard Cinque 5.3 with MOD1 and MOD2 and softcase - Mint condition, bought new last year to combine all my pedals on a single board, but due to size restrictions in my new flat, I had to opt for two smaller pedalboards. It's in really good shape and has only been on my desk setup at home, hence it has never seen a stage or practise room. It only lacks a tiny bit of paint on the underside around some of the screws, and actually was shipped in this state when I received it new from Thomann. It comes with a nicely padded, unused Rockboard softcase, and has currently two Rockboard Mods (Mod1 v2 and Mod2 v2) installed. I'd like to sell it as a package deal so I can keep the two mods installed, but please feel free to reach out to me if you're interested in the board and softcase alone (without the mods). The board and softcase go around £215, and the Mods around £50-55 each, so the whole package would cost you around £315 new. I'm offering it for £240 all together (pedalboard, softcase, Mod1, Mod2) as a pick-up price from DURHAM (I can deliver it locally), or £260 shipped. Now £220 all together (pedalboard, softcase, MOD1, and MOD2) when picked up from Durham, or £240 shipped. Now £200 all together (pedalboard, softcase, MOD1, and MOD2) when picked up from Durham, or £220 shipped. Rockboard Mini Mod TRS - Nice little MOD unit that can be attached to every Rockboard pedalboard, given you a TRS in- or out jack. Happy to sell it with any of the pedalboards above for an additional £5. Rockboard Mod Brace - Stainless steel frame to give more stability to heavier Rockboard MOD units. Selling it for £12 posted. Any questions just send me a message. SOLD: Rockboard Cinque 5.2 with softcase - Great condition, I used this before upgrading to the 5.3. It's also in really good shape apart from one scratch mark on the back. When taking off a MOD unit, one screw got stuck and by removing it, I scratched the back a bit unfortunately. However, this scratch mark should largely be covered once a new MOD is in place. Other than that, it's in perfect condition. It also comes with a nicely padded Rockboard softcase. I'm selling it for £80 when picked-up from DURHAM, or £95 shipped. SOLD Rockboard Frame 5 XL Cinque - Can be used on both Rockboard Cinque 5.2 or 5.3 and substitutes one of the frame struts underneath. As it has a large cut-out, you can attach larger items (such as big power supplies) underneath these pedalboards. Best to google and see what it looks like to decide if it might be useful for you, but it was actually very helpful for me to mount lots of equipment (power supplies, DI Box, and so on) underneath my pedalboards). Selling for £16 posted. SOLD Rockboard Duo 2.0 with softcase - Great condition. I used it for a little headphone-based setup when travelling, so it has seen a couple of hotel rooms but it's still in really good shape. Also comes with a nicely padded Rockboard softcase. £30 when picked-up from Durham, or £35 shipped. SOLD

Downstrokes, fresh swing bass 66, all the attitude! -
I've also fallen down a bit of a Jean-Michel Jarre rabbit hole again - My dad loved JMJ - so I've been grabbing lots of CMI Fairlight samples and all sorts. Whilst on my journeys, I found Arturia's Lab Play virtual instrument - which is free and sounds really good. There's a JMJ pack for it for anyone who wants to re-live some Equinoxe and Magnetic Fields vibes too. https://www.arturia.com/products/software-instruments/analoglab/free For awesome synth sounds, keep an eye on Plugin Boutique for when the do a deal on Xpand2! which could be my favourite multi-voice VSTi.

There's no easy way of answering what the push/pull pot is doing...and with the amount of solder around and about, whether anything is shorting...but that is the bit where there is some sort of out-of-phase stuff going on, I am sure. Looking at the two other pots, it looks like it started off as a standard neck vol/ bridge vol/ master tone set up. It is - and can be - a fairly straightforward circuit (see the Fralin P/J circuit below) So I would suggest that the only pot you need to change is that push/pull one. Just fit a standard tone pot / capacitor instead and wire up exactly as above where the two whites from the pickups go to the respective middle position of the two existing volume pots, the two blacks from the pickups are earthed, as are all three pots, and then a simple feed from the middle pin of the tone pot to the 'hot' peg of the jack socket, and earth to the other one.

New pickguard arrived! From Earlpilanz on eBay. I sent the original in and he matched it. Great service and great quality product very much recommended. Glad I went for the parchment inbetween the black as it matches the body colour perfectly. I have to say this looks flipping brilliant and I am so chuffed.

I thought there was a video of my old mob doing Atomic. Turns out it was Hanging on the Telephone; harumph! I’ll share it anyway, not the greatest recording, but OK.

Use an Ashdown ABM600 Evo IV or a Trace Elliot TS1200 with a LySys Monaco (8Ohm) I guess I'm comparing 300Watts vs 600Watts @ 8Ohms The volume seems remarkably similar.

Get a guitar one , a friend of mine had an absurdly expensive all valve usa one which sounded great with his bass with tweaks. Alternatively get a Behringer v bass rackmount preamp for 135 quid and see if it works for you😁😁

No. They don't. There will be a THD% accompanying the X Watts at 1kHz. That will tell you how much distortion the amp suffers at that output. The lower the better.
