  2. May 17th 2007 for me. Ex Bassworld too, although not for long. Was slogging away in an 8 piece pro function band at the time, seems like eons ago. Didn’t do any other forum or social media for years, just this one. Sold and bought a fair amount of basses and amps over the years, and met some top folk along the way. 😀
  3. Not last night but today, I set up my two Evox 8 speakers, then thought I would play some music on them while we were setting up, one side not working, had a look, no lights.. hmm, maybe the power at that side of the stage not good, no, the guitarists pedalboard from the same power strip is on. Get another power lead, still nothing, plug it into another socket, still nothing. No time to get home to get another speaker, and doesn't look promising, one evox 8 at an open air gig isn't going to do much, The drummer and guitarist were looking at it while I was checking something else and found when it rocked forward the power went on and back it went off. so we moved it so it was on a level paving slab, and it seemed to stay on. Went for it and it survived the gig, but that is this weeks investigation started!
  4. Posting gone a bit awry! The Jake came to me, went to a friend last year and just came back!
  5. Lightweight bridge from Albridge. Delano Alnico at the neck, Cat's Whiskers MM at the bridge.
  6. 32 Jake PM and it's Sandberg VS4 buddy
  7. October 2007 - I'd been trying to find some information on a harmoniser and stumbled across BC.
  8. I borrowed one for a while to compare against my energy headless many years ago - it gave it a good run for it's money. I'd have one in a heartbeat. My Status journey actually started off with a Washburn Status - not too bad, but I don't miss p/x-ing it for the real deal! Can't believe the sort of second hand prices they are up for now though.....😲
  9. Yep. There I am. op.
  10. Today
  11. And have been for decades.
  12. Did a gig last night in Llanfair Caereinion. What a pleasant surprise to find a d&b Audiotechnik foh and martin wedges. I left my backline (QSC12) in the car. There was a moment to smile when the singer asked for less bass in the foldback to be told there was none. But there was a REALLY weird squeal going on. We could not find an induction loop and the rig was not hooked up to anything installed. Eventually I found the loop amp which was live with an open mic somewhere on the stage. It was clearly set up for general use. Everything got a lot easier when that went off.
  13. Bought about 12 years ago second hand. I can't remember how old it is. I think the previous owner bought from new a few years earlier. There are a few nicks here and there but plays well. There's a nick in one of the strings which may need replacing. Comes with soft case, stand, pickup, bow and preamp. PIckup from East Molesey in Surrey, or will drive up to 45 minutes to meet halfway. Please contact me if you have any questions. Thanks for looking. Al

  14. Man, I clicked on this post, thinking he had passed away. Good to know that he is still alive 😊
  15. Little Lies - Fleetwood Mac
  16. Unbelievable amps. Everything you say about them is true. GLWTS
  17. Oh bloody hell. Just as I think I finally don’t have amp GAS. 😆
  18. Definitely 4 ohms
  19. Had a gorgeous passive seafoam green one with a single chrome soap bar pickup about 15 years ago, bloody loved it. Stupidly sold it once then bought it back… If I hadn’t gone to shorter scales I expect I’d still have it.
  20. Stuart Zender on this video. Fabulous. What an influence. At such a young age too. What post-Jamiroquai should we be listening to? He really dropped off the radar. Well as far as I could see.
  21. It was originally a single pickup, passive Pro1 that I picked up secondhand, but virtually new when someone p/x’d it at the music shop my then drummer ran (saw it on the wall in the shop, took it to our gig that night and it never went back 🤣) That was around 1982. A few years later I had a pickup built by Kent Armstrong into a Wal pickup housing and fitted in front of the bridge turning the Vol & Tone into two Vol with no tone, but still passive. In 1996 I took it up to Wal for a general service and Pete showed me another Pro1 that they had in that was being converted. He told me that the Pro’s were built with the intention that active electrics could be retrofitted if the owner desired in the future, and quoted a good price to do so for mine, so the die was cast and I went for that along with the service and a few weeks later I went back to collect my now active Wal with the Kent Armstrong pup swapped out. So it started life in 82 as a one pickup passive Pro and was converted by Wal to full active in 96.
  22. Hi, Bass is 4.3kg on my bathroom scales, original trans red finish.
  23. This one is a good snapshot, lots of people logged on and lots of posts showing. Anyone see themselves logged in? I'm on there! http://web.archive.org/web/20060426190514/http://www.bassworld.co.uk/pn/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewforum&f=1
  24. Bit of a digression - sorry, Andy - but that strap looks interesting. What is it? GLWTS - lovely bass (with or without the strap)!
