I had this too when I picked up a 70's faker. My knobs are labelled though, so this should make you feel better. -

Looks a great starting point - for me I'd go for a L-1000 route. Whilst you have 2 pickups, you can still pickup an Tribute L-2000, so you'd be building a budget L-1000 which you cant get. And if you want to offload that spare pickup - I might be interested 😂

For sale my Eden Neo powered (passive) 2x10 made in PRC and USA made D115 cabs. Together they make an excellent full range stack. Relatively compact as the D115 is the shorter version. The Neo 2x10 is a lightweight cab and very manageable, the D cab a bit more weighty though not ridiculous. The 2x10 is 500 watts at 8 ohms and adjustable tweeter, the D115 is 200 watt at 8ohm. Both offered in very good used condition and perfect working order, of course. No tweeter in the D series cab so it benefits from Being part of a stack with the highs taken care of elsewhere, unless some sub reggae is the order of the day? Will consider splitting though, as usual, it'd be a bit of a shame. EX210N8 = £165 D115=£145 Collection much preferred, but i can package securely, if you can arrange the courier of your choice. Cheers. Craig.

Ah, the joys of having too many toys and not enough brainpower (I am a fully signed up member of that club) The one that gets me is the East P retro. Makes some lovely, lovely sounds but there is a lot of wizardry to fit into 2 stacked pots. I have to have the instructions handy if I haven't played around with the settings on that bass for a while. -
hejirah by joni mitchell is as good as it gets ...jaco only played on four tracks but that's enough to seal the deal for me.

Unfortunately, my lasting experience of dealing with stuff going wrong wasn't as positive with my two cabs, a shame, as I've owned half a dozen in the past, but not likely again. Still, this is better, and I daresay this thread may also have assisted in the response.

They did! The earliest models, from 1978 until 1982, had REALLY big necks, both thick and wide. I've had two MC924L's from that period. They were great, but incredibly heavy and while I was comfortable with the big neck, I prefer a thinner and narrower neck these days. Which is why I've only got my 1983 model anymore: it's the later model with the bevelled edges, and PJ pickups in soapbar casings. Coincidence has it this is my year of birth, the serial number dates it to December 1983 which makes it only a month younger than me.

I think that's the main win from all this - that you've got them to sort your issue out and also finally make it clear for future purchasers. I like BF as well (I have a Super 12, Midget, Two10 and 2x One10s) but you're right - stuff goes wrong and it's all about how it's sorted out. My S12 had a buzz/rattle on one of the speakers, and the Two10 had a chrome corner missing - both issues were remedied with no fuss.

From John @Chienmortbb recent review of his system ( 2 x Wharfdale Typhon 8's) he invested in a second Citronic Casa 10 sub to achieve the performance he was seeking. Wishing to use just one sub, it seemed an idea to upgrade the speaker in a light , well made cab and panel amp. On my radar would be the next step up from the Citronic Casa 10 to a Alto TX12S to match the Alto TS408s. But would I achieve similar performce from a £100 speaker upgrade? That was the basis of seeking John and Phil's opinions.
