  2. Me too, I got a belt after being impressed with the strap quality. It’s way better than any leather belt I’ve ever bought from a shop

  4. I'm not surprised to see in this thread that it sounds great at the time to play whilst stoned, but that the recordings tell a different story... Personally, I would rarely even have alcohol when performing, and certainly nothing else whatsoever, as full concentration is required. When I was an undergraduate there was plenty of stoned playing around, though. I recall a popular singer who claimed he could never remember the lyrics unless he'd had "a couple of pints and a bucket," which is presumably the condition in which he spent most of his time. A local rehearsal studio was run by a chap who dealt pot as a sideline so there were usually jazz woodbines being passed around.
  5. This is the MXR Bass preamp. Super clean sound that allows you to the deliver a crystal clear DI (via XLR) as well as the standard TRS output. It doesn't have a baked in sound like may preamps but does have a really nice EQ with a sweepable mid control but it wont massively alter your tone. I used this with my HX Stomp to avoid the reported issues with XLR and Phantom power (The MXR can be powered by Phantom power I believe). The XLR can be set pre EQ which is great as it allowed me to tweak the EQ from my board without impacting the DI signal. There are a few chips in the paint but otherwise its in perfect working order, any questions let me know.

  6. I'm selling this fantastic little compressor which offers by far the most functionality you will get in such a small package. Has controls for ratio, threshold, and makeup gain as well as hard / soft knee setting, fast and slow timing and a mix to dial in some of your clean signal. Lastly it has LED meeting to help you set the right amount of compression which I found really useful. This is a high quality compressor and I'm only selling as I have replaced my HX Stomp (I never liked the comps on that) with a DG Anagram. The compressors on the Anagram were updated a while ago but I have kept it until I was totally happy with them. This is one of the best pedals I have ever owned but its just sitting in the drawer so passing it on. I don't have the box but the pedal is in mint condition with on the bottom and will be well packaged for postage. I recommend watching a few reviews and checking out the Becos website and of course if you have any questions just drop me a note.

  7. I know what you mean but my circumstances have very recently changed. If things change again I will probably keep it!
  8. In our household have poor precedent for names ... but like @WinterMute suggests that TS Elliott would argue that a cat would never tell. Our first cat was called Catbert ... after the Dilbert comics " evil director of human resources " We now Have , Sebastian and Ryan ... who are ginger brothers ... and Misha who is a Huge white Siberian forest cat ... ( "Misha russian for little bear) Do you want to go with a music related name ... maybe " capo" ... because its always in the way when you dont need it but never around when you do 😉
  9. Laid So Low - Tears For Fears
  10. Christ, I can't remember if I've posted these or not, apologies if I have, fretless and fretted @Jabba_the_gut builds. The ultimate shorties, even though I've just gone back to long scale thanks to obtaining a Fender Precision Thinline PBAC. The fretted (spalted) bass might be up for sale in the near future.
  11. My story took place in the early 90s. It was a different time. Fortunately, I'm generally less prone to addiction and was never a big fan of drugs. I started experimenting early and stopped just as quickly. I didn't like most of it, and some things I liked too much to make a habit of. By the time I was 20, I was done with drugs. Your band sounds like a mix of The Fall and Dead Kennedys. I really like it!
  12. The BH250 was the first class-d head I owned and it's scary to think these have been around for over a decade now. Great little amps and featured packed for not much cost. Surprisingly loud as well for such a compact unit. Also make a great desktop recording interface and home practice amp with the headphone out. I've just bought another small class-d head or I would have jumped at such a bargain. Jezz is a top dude, buy with confidence! GLWTS.
  13. So, what have we learned? That the solution to argumentative threads is... to get argumentative in a thread? Or did I miss something here? Love, peace, health, prosperity and rainbows to you all. Free hugs if you want them, but you pay the delivery costs.
  14. I had a black one of these many years ago, I remember mine being a very dark sounding bass, as I was very young with very little electronics knowledge it frustrated me no end, nowadays I would get a solderless harness fitted. I do wish I still had that bass, it wasn't a particularly good bass, it weighed about 15 ibs, the pickguard cracked in 2 places and had a tone that have been right at home only in a dub reggae band but but there is something very cool and quirky about these basses.
  15. No more stomach-churning from me, young Bigot. 'Bye.
  16. DM'd
  17. I'm looking at replacing the pickups on my Indonesian made Fender Standard Jazz. I am looking at at a Fender vintage 62 set. Will these fit? I know some replacement P ups need a bit of jiggling to fit the cavities.
  18. Price drop to £80! High quality fuzz with some great sounds including Velcro tearing gated fuzz for some synthy action plus more traditional fuzz noises. In the original box with some feet and a sticker. Velcro’d on the bottom plus free of charge carpet fluff. I’m trying to free up cash for a BassRig 15 so not a massive interest in trades / part-ex unless there’s a GigRig QMX4 or QMX6 involved.
  19. This is so funny, I've just found this thread and that you're all discussing this - I'm the seller and the head has sold (sold for cheap as I need the space). I have a Laney endorsement and it was hardly used tbh so I'm happy to have sold it to someone that will use it ! The cab is still available if anyone wants to make an offer though.
