Hope you don't mind me piggybacking your thread Gunsfreddy. If I have a passive p bass, but run through a Cali 76 18v comp pedal, should I look for a passive rather than active DI box? Thanks

Very natural, very organic - as if the body has been worn to shape by wind erosion. Lovely.

I have the VIP with recent firmware (possibly current? Would need to check), and the usb interface is I think one you have had working. It does talk to the FI4 but seemed erratic when adjusting settings and loading/initialising patches. One issue is not knowing what 'correct' operation is meant to look like when editing patches especially when learning my way around a new synth architecture. I'm generally not a huge fan of learning from videos, but a clear, dry tutorial on building a 'classic' patch (eg Chameleon) from a freshly initialised patch would actually be very helpful for unlocking and showcasing the power of this pedal.

A pinch and a punch for the first of the month , well a round of applause and a pat on the back maybe for both @Chiliwailer and @Wolfram , tied winners in September with superb compositions. Well, onwards and upwards, so to get those itchy fingers back to the instruments , Wolfram has supplied the following for your inspiration. "I glimpsed this ad on the Underground a while back - I was previously unaware that 'non-toxic' was a key selling point for an air fryer! Let's hear your ad jingles, weird and wonderful product endorsements, or songs about air fryers 😆." ✅ Entries must be <5 minutes and recorded between now and the deadline. ❌ No illegal samples, copyright infringements or other snide goings-on ❌ No Bagpipes, Please, I think they would suffer from the tubular reverberation and sound a bit off. ❌ No voting for your own entry. We'll know. And we'll shame you.. Deadline-wise, we will go for Midnight on the 25th September ... Which really means the last day of summertime , dark nights and closed neighbours windows , thus I can sing as loud as I like A line or two of blurb as usual for the vote thread will be super duper smashing lovely. Good luck, Have fun

Frankly it smokes the MXR and can do that sound with ease (presuming you mean the first patch).

E bay tale of woe (yes another) and missing bass!
RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE replied to theplumber's topic in General Discussion
EBay have been going through a lot of ‘changes’ over the last year or so . Probably longer . Finnicky ,and initially hard to get to grips with all the goings on I find . Don’t forget DHL have been taken over by EVRI ! My hunch is that EVRI are the culprits here! Also ,EVRI are being forced upon us if we use Next , M&S, John Lewis etc . Fwiw EVRI time I get deliveries from them ( apart from one occasion) , they are always late! The app only changes when you receive an email advising you that they will be indeed late ! When a parcel is due to arrive between 1-3 pm and doesn’t arrive until just before 10.30 pm you know that they are crap . Next have refunded me . I allow a few hrs, but if it’s after8 pm I complain on the next app! As for dealing with eBay sellers, I always ask what courier they use. One seller gave a snotty response so I advised them they lost a sale ! Also , the only real way to find out who the eBay seller uses is to press the ‘buy it now ‘ button . Then decide if you want to proceed or not . I stick with Royal Mail or dpd as much as I can . No courier co is perfect , but EVRI are absolute crap ! ( just my observation ) -
I had a little bit of fun with my aux pedal from @pedalnetics and some craft paint. I don't foresee any changes to this simplified pedal board for a very long time. (However I have said similarly before!)

Buying a guitar from Canada-WISE money transfer.
daveski88 replied to Chewie's topic in General Discussion
Wise works fine, but depending on the amount the fees can hit the receiver. If you want another option to compare, check out Ria Money Transfer. I’ve used it for US → Canada before, money landed quick and the fees were lower than what I got with Wise. Worth running the numbers side by side before sending. -
So I went with A for the front. It’s a thin body (32mm) and slightly smaller than a P size so it will be an interesting project to see how everything fits. I will definitely have to go for lightweight tuners to combat neck dive. Part of me is thinking about doing a short scale.

This too is my first time using an amp with a fender style tone stack. From what I understand (both from reading reviews and for my own experience) the mid knob is a cut, not a boost. Don't be afraid to turn that sucker up! And then dial up your bass and treble to find the unity tone you're looking for. The input gain and master volume knobs also work linearly from 0 to 10 unlike a lot of amps that don't do too much past 6 or 7. Really don't be afraid of the input game on either channel. The amp can handle it and they make a huge difference as far as bringing out more harmonic frequencies making the same volume feel louder and fuller. Another thing you can do is make sure that your impedance switch matches whichever cabs you are using. Makes a huge difference in not only damping and volume but also feel and fullness. I hate that I have been working as much as I have been this week I've only had one night since I picked mine up a couple of days ago to really play it. Very happy that it was the night that I got it otherwise the anticipation would have killed the But I did get to play it for hours and found it to be one of the best sounding amps I've ever played. Can get wooly and gritty that can also get that nice fat low gain saturation and stay clean with plenty of headroom. I still need more time with the tone controls myself just to get a better feel for them but don't be afraid to turn them all the way up when finding what you want! It is a very different tone stack to get used to but if you put the time in it is very rewarding! I can't wait to spend more time with mine!

What are you listening to right now?
NancyJohnson replied to Sarah5string's topic in General Discussion
Despite not being remotely into the Rolling Stones, I do have a soft spot for Keith Richards. Been reading this afternoon and have been going through the solo albums. I'm currently on an excellent bootleg of a radio broadcast of the Winos live in Boston in 1993. So good. -

Joyo Ironman Rushing Train mini pedal, mint condition, complete with box. This is a Vox style amp sim pedal. It's essentially a mini version of their ACTone pedal, one of a series including the American Sound, British Sound, Oxford Sound and Californian Sound. I read somewhere that these were, in turn, based on the Tech 21 "Character" series of preamp pedals, but I can't vouch for that. So if you want that Vox-ish sound in mini format, this is the pedal for you. £20 posted within UK.
