  1. Past hour
  2. Parcelforce are dreadful and I won't use them unless theres no option. Just done a deal with @itsmedunc on a Barefaced cab and he waited in for 2 days for Parcelforce to collect, which of course they didn't. I then reverted back to UPS and I have it within 24 hours.
  3. I've used Royal Mail a fair bit and the service has been perfectly acceptable - fingers crossed. Sometimes the next-day delivery takes two days, but otherwise no problems. If you think Royal Mail is bad, you should experience La Poste. Unbelievably awful. I've never heard of a British postie trying to scam you for cash and refusing to deliver unless you pay up. And that's the tip of the iceberg.
  4. Location: Teesside (N.E.)
  5. In my view the heavy amps are practical to use despite their weight. It’s the cabs that are back breakers. If you wanna go down that road might be an idea just to buy an old trace pre and pair it with an amp of your choice but sounds like a lot of ball ache to me.
  6. Hearing lots of good stuff about this at the moment. Very close to pulling the trigger on the 100.
  7. I am selling this cool Darkglass Alpha Omega pedal. I don't think it needs much introduction but here are the specs: https://www.darkglass.com/en-gb/products/ao As a huge Karnivool fan, I had to buy it. However, I clearly don't have Jon Stockman's skills 😉 The pedal is in great condition and comes with all the usual DG goodies. There is some velco at the bottom of the pedal (in the four corners). Here is the official sales ad when I bought it earlier this year: https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/510669-sold-darkglass-alpha-omega/#comment-5446017 As you can see, I have priced it to sell. I am not interested in any trades as I need the funds for our never ending house renovation project. Shipping will cost extra and the exact amount will depend on the kind of courier you prefer (e.g., Evri will be cheaper than FedEx) and the level of insurance (e.g., none or fully insured).
  8. Two tone body and pale maple neck with jazz width nut. Decal and pickguard has been changed.
  9. So glad I still have a Kingbass and a 1985 Series 2000 for company G&L - lets hope if/who takes it over do a great job at some marketing, get some great artists on board and push it, also getting into the hands of passionate retailers helps
  10. PMs in Status Updates. How? Why? Mind boggled, as in: not critical, but just not understanding.

  11. P.bass now delivered and apparently in one piece. Buyer happy. That's the important bit. Now on hold to Royal mail to see if they can confirm the combo is actually where they say it is (and has been for 10 days) No doubt I'll be cut off before they answer.
  12. It's not so much the active basses you mention (I've recently bought a couple of German-made Sadowsky Will Lee basses and they are superb instruments) as the passive super-Fenders (or so they would have you believe) that are the subject of my ire. Don't get me wrong, a well-made passive boutique FSO can be a very worthwhile purchase, I have one or two of my own. However, when a certain amount of magical realism is included in the purchase price I am more than sceptical, let me put it to you that way.
  13. 2012 EB MM Stingray 5 … in pristine condition comes with original MM hard shell case in great condition I can only see two small blemishes on the right hand side of the bass which are very difficult to even see .. tried to capture these these in the pics looks gorgeous with the white body, matching pick up cover and maple fret board Sounds and plays like a dream Price inclusive of shipping to anywhere in the UK

  14. Hiya, I bought these last week for the bitsa P bass I am working on - sadly they don’t fit so I’m putting them up for sale. They were sold as “Kluson-style” bass machine heads and appear to be identical size and fitting to Fender Japan ones. They seem to be very well made, they work smoothly and are in near mint condition. They come with all the relevant screws and ferrules to fit them. Gutted they don’t fit my bass to be honest. There doesn’t seem to be anything that acts as a converter kit to put slimmer tuners in wider holes, so back to the drawing board for me I’m afraid. UK postage included in the price. I’ve put a regular sized 1970s Fender P bass tuner next to them for size comparison (it’s not for sale). I can dig out measurements if you need them. Any questions give us a shout. Cheers

  18. V1 Tyler great for blending in pedals with some lows or blending two pedals together
  19. I’ve been playing both pick and finger style since I started and like to think I do so very comfortably but I did play electric guitar before switching to bass due to the fact my hands are too big to play a guitar comfortably so that’s more than likely helped
  20. Now includes a Basic " Sonik " GigBag.

  22. Since the separation and privatisation of Royal Mail & Parcelforce from The Post Office there can’t be much disagreement that they’ve both gone downhill. Thankfully The Post Office was retained under Govt ownership.
