  2. Whoa...Amazing job!! 👏👏👏 Well done sir!
  3. Dirty Love - Motorhead I'll see your FZ and raise you a Motorhead...
  4. Weekend bump for this bargain beast
  5. Design transferred and traced onto the headstock... Not starting painting tonight though - that was hard work, plus I only have black paint at the moment - need white and dark grey. The plan is to hand paint it with model paints and tiny brushes, flatten it a tad with very fine sandpaper, then lacquer over the top to protect it.
  6. Ah yes we discussed this a few weeks ago (link below) when I made the following in about five minutes: Dancing With Shadows.mp3 I'm not ever so impressed by the songwriting, it's more the fact that if you have both the lyrics and a rough tune you don't need a studio or musicians anymore to get something recorded. Likewise the singers AI can produce are a lot better than the majority of people I know!
  7. Yes, it always comes across as a soupy noise live. Or at least it seems to, YMMV. They're really just a cover band live now anyway since their most important member has effectively become a recluse. Too many years of smoking weed and reading conspiracy theory nonsense on the net has fried his brain. Interesting to see Chi Cheng mentioned again, because he always struck me as a functional player who could have been replaced by any jobber at short notice. Could anyone point me to something remarkable he has done or a moment where he really shines? I've been listening to Deftones for over twenty years and I've never been moved by what he played other than to say he played the bass part on the tracks.
  8. It looks like the kind of heatsink that Gauss used to fit. As it's an American brand, Bill will no doubt have more information.
  9. Dirty Love - F.Z.-
  10. Well, it's happening and from now on it will always be happening. I foresee a time when, eventually, most humans will step away from the Internet and leave it alone to amuse and lie to itself as it will be of no use to anyone anymore. I should write a sci-fi novella about that at least 🤔
  11. Hi Roger Yes an American vintage reissue
  12. Today
  13. Two gigs again for me this week. Wednesday as usual at the rock n roll club. Plenty of dancers in, but very hot though - think the club have stopped using the air con till next year! I did ‘ Memphis Tennessee’ in my now regular Chuck Berry spot, and went down well. Always a bit knackered next day after playing mainly fast songs for nearly two hours, fingers / hands in particular a bit achy. Sunday afternoon saw our duo performing at our favourite pub in Beverley, The Sun Inn. With it being a bank holiday weekend it turned out to be almost ridiculously busy, all seats & tables taken and little standing room before we even started playing. We had the usual wide range of requests, ranging from ‘Guantanamera’ and ‘He’ll have to go’ ( Ry Cooder style) to ‘Dead Flowers’ ( Stones ) and even some Coldplay ( following their recent Hull gigs!). I used a Squier Jaguar shortie into my Rumble 500, leaving the PA for vocals and acoustic guitar. Our PA only just coped with things TBH, so we will be needing to address updating it soon I think, especially as whilst packing down the landlord offered us a series of monthly gigs for all of 2026.
  14. For those who don’t like Diamond/Alma, there’s another option: Ampeg Opto Comp.
  15. 3.845 on my kitchen scale I have someone coming to see it tonight. Will let you know if he doesn't show up. Thanks
  16. ***PRICE DROP NOW £1300*** 2010 US Stingray, 2EQ, CAR with rosewood board. One of the limited edition 133 basses, full fat ‘ray but with a soft gig bag case instead of a hard shell job. This is in excellent condition with one very minor ding on the top edge, and the pickguard is quite marked but obviously easily replaceable. Comes with a Hipshot D-tuner (long key though instead of short… doh), if you want the original tuner key I’ll chuck it in. I’ve also replaced the pickup with a Nordstrand MM4.2, which sounds flippin’ great. She’s quite heavy (10lb) but with a decent wide strap it feels ok. ***EDIT*** now comes with the option of a Warwick Rockbass semi-rigid case - photos added. Loathe to post this but can at buyer’s (insured) expense, or can meet in person at either Portsmouth, Southsea, Southampton or Lymington (I’m on the I.O.W.)

  18. We're having a cheeky bottle of red and there's hoisin duck coming. Reliving my 20s...Big Country, The Crossing. 5/5
  19. Blimey, that was incredible! Thank you for sharing.
  20. I know what you mean. I have encountered a lot of players who play 18 billion notes, hoping that one might fit.
  21. I dig it. Bass is very thick and present through speakers, but it's a bit of a roots-only bassline. I used to love Deftones when I was at school, until I heard "Back To School" ironically enough 😆 I've revisited them from time to time over the years. I still consider Chi to be probably THE bass player of any genre though. He was the instrument.

  24. My workmate brought this awkward record to listen to. What's this? Have to say I've liked his work since. He's a good example of playing only the right notes.
