  2. I would agree with your summary. I don't like telling people their bass is not as good another bass, so always try to tread gently. As you say Sire offer a lot of features for the money, and their finish for the price is pretty good, however the Anaconda probably fits into a bracket above Sire, both in pricing and performance. I am a bit out of touch with the higher end US built instruments these days. Probably a decade ago I tried a Fender USA P5 which did nothing for me and I found a Squier Modified P5 which I much preferred, even though the finishing on the US version was undoubtedly better. This can all get quite subjective. For me Andrew's basses are very carefully refined versions of the Fender design, the graphite reinforcing seems to make a noticeable difference to my ears, the neck profile is just that tiny bit more comfortable, the pickup and electronics add that tiny bit of extra oomph and flexibility. As a retired production engineer I know that the processes in use in some of the Chinese manufacturers now is close to what is used in prestige manufacturers in say the US. So apart from the Kudos of where things are made probably the key differences are now down to material choice, design and attention to detail on finishing and final set up. If you are based in the UK, a trip to see Andrew in his North London workshop is recommended, he is not only knowledgeable, but his show room is well set up. I tried an earlier version of the Essence there before I bought - I have added a write up here in case anyone is interested. Anaconda Basses visit a.pdf
  3. I use one with no hassle; if all of the cable are coming from the back just be sure to place 2 of the 3 legs at the back.
  4. A bump to help it on its way. The burgundy is a nice colour.
  5. Thanks Mick... I'm planning to go to this, so hope to see a few other Basschatters there!
  6. would you find a use for a hx one or something if the reverse delay doesn't work out?
  7. Thanks for that I was rather worried that with the weight of all the cables something like this might be a little vulnerable to tipping over. Thought something with 4 legs might be required ....... But if something this simple does the trick ........ 👍
  8. This could be a little nice sounding guy.
  9. If it was me... Sherwood Green, but follow path your own, must you.
  10. Up the Junction - Squeeze

  12. I’m in Horsham, West Sussex and have two Monzas if you are around my way and want to try them 😊
  13. Stunning looker. Never knew they made basses. I remember when Larry Carlton was an endorsee, I think he had a tele shaped thing that was his signature model.

  15. Best fivers ever. GLWTS!
  16. Close enough, side by side you wouldn't be able to tell the difference.
  17. Up Where We Belong - Jennifer Warnes & Joe Cocker
  18. Thank you for all the input. We’ve decided to get 50 done by Cram. I’ll report back on whether our ‘fan base’ (if we have one 😂) decides to buy any!
  19. Space is the Place! - Jonzun Crew
  20. What a shamed the foto flame is coming off, I often wondered how durable it was going to be. If you’re wanting “vintage “ finish and sunburst isn’t an option , then provided the fiesta red is that slightly faded salmon colour that most were in the 60’s then go for that. @Trebis probably right that it will need a tort plate to look vintage. From what you’ve said it sounds like your are planning to have this done professionally, I think that’s a good call u less you’re really skilled in the art of spraying.
  21. Can't Take You Anywhere - Skunk Anansie
  22. Mayday, M'aidez...here's mine. I know he's got a microphone in the pic but I've yet again ran out of time (and ideas) so no vocals. Ralph, bored of guarding pedal boards and snoozing, decides that it's about time he got his groove on, so he leaps up, hits the keys and gives it his best Clint Boon impression. Bass Westfield violin, Guitar Les Paul copy, Digitech RP80 pedal for effect noisery, Ableton for all the drummery and the keyboardery. Wavepad and Audacity for all things recordery. Deep joy.
  23. A music stand with the top angled almost flat to take the desk; get one like this and you can even feed the cables through the holes.
  24. TC Electronic Vortex Flanger Mini with power adaptor and original packaging. If I remember rightly, this has the Mark King 'Sweet Minger' Tone Print onboard. Excellent condition, barely used. £50 inc postage to anywhere in the UK or Ireland.
  25. That's considered the mistake, however in interviews with the band it was a mistake from rehearsals that they decided to keep as part of the song as it sounded good, rather than a mistake made during the recording session - by then it was a part of the song.
