  1. Past hour
  2. I just bought a pedal from Andy and it arrived in perfect condition. Buy with confidence from this BC'er.
  3. Sei original headless 5 string bass… as you can see from the pics it is an absolute stunner. This bass plays beautifully… very rare to find Sei basses like this for sale. Feel free to message me… collection preferably from Bognor Regis though I could post if needed.
  4. This is one of my favourite basslines ever, and I've never got round to learning it. No excuse now. Thanks, Greg.
  5. What a bargain. Pre amp cost £120, so getting a decent bass for £80!!!!
  6. BTB 'prolly had a mid life crisis-revamp. Same as the SR range. Earlier being more slab bodied, more like the current Gio GSR. Latter have the super comfy worn pebble body. Check the Ibby Wiki, 'prolly a certain year of change over. The digging in edge is there on most more slab bodies, depends a lot on the height of the bass (strap) and playing style.
  7. Bought a lovely PJ body plus Aerodyne PJ pickups from Aidan. Not only was the price great but his comms were impeccable. Everything arrived next day and it was carefully packaged in bubble wrap/sturdy box. What a top guy and a real credit to the Basschat community. Thank you.
  8. Nobody's forcing you to add yourself to the list; it was to gauge numbers initially.
  9. I WFH; I have no wish to spend 2 hours each way travelling on unreliable public transport to get to an office where I have a cramped desk, small computer screen, and have to wear noise-cancelling headphones to hear myself think. Socially I do fine; going out, having a chat, doing jams and get-togethers, meeting people, having a walk across the park and stopping for a natter, going to events, etc. As for bands, I haven't been to see one in ages: the price of seeing a major artist is unrealistic and if it's in London I typically have to leave before the end to get the last train home. In other towns the cost of parking is ridiculous and the operators are sitting there waiting for you to transgress some contrived rule so they can send you a fake "fine" demanding money. In all honesty, I prefer listening to music on my hi-fi at home or watching gigs on my TV rather than on screens at a venue because you're too far from the stage. TBH, I find gigs pretty solitary places anyway. So I simply don't buy the assertion that WFH is killing social interaction and nor that I am somehow unclean for not wanting to go places to spaff money in some affected spirit of altruism so as to keep the local service industries in business. Harking back to a time before social media is a forlorn quest.

  11. I have always been a kind of introverted teen. And fact that i came back from 6 years of life in french Guyana in my birth country when i was 15 years old, i was completely disconnected from french life, "codes and rules" that were driving teens by this time. A lot of them even didn't know that french Guyana was existing. So I was like an alien for all others at school and they were all aliens to me too. That made me more introverted, living in my dreams. Then few years later, with one of very few friends i've had, we decided to start playing guitar. (Our fathers had each an old beaten guitar they didn't used since their teens ... ) And this first contact with an instrument has been a changing life day for me. I never stopped since. Started at 18 years old; i'm now 53. One of my two bands sank in july. The other one is like a zombie: sometimes he's living few days for one or two gigs, and then go back in the grave for 6 months. But i don't wait after it to stay in the game: I took a lot of pleasure and fulfilment by simply playing my bass. Noodling, transcribing, learn some ways to play to improve my musicianship. All is good as soon as i can play. It's my best medecine, and my fuel for life. And plan to continue until my body stop me.
  12. Thanks for your reply. I'm wondering if the 'culprits' (so to speak) are the more recent models of the last decade Personally I can't say I've ever studied the body edges when watching reviews or looking at photos. It's just hearing what reviewers like Low End have commented and others have echoed on line
  13. Don't forget the Ampeg 8x10 cab and head as well
  14. Oooooooft! Congratulations dude!
  15. So far as I know there are 137 different BTB models that have been produced the very vast majority have come and gone over the years however despite this there aren't that many up for sale in the secondhand market (unless you opt to import one) and only a handful available brand new. I'm after a secondhand 5 string Post 2010 era ideally with 19mm string spacing
  16. PLEASE READ THIS! There'll be a few people coming who may be using public transport. Please check National Rail as there's engineering works in the area. If there's any Basschat members that can pick up anyone enroute, please post here and arrange pickups. Thanks
  17. Thanks, Mokl. I was running two as a vertical stack – best live sound I've ever had!
  18. Same as you, when I was working in the office I took lunch in with me, and a copy of Private Eye, so I didn't buy anything form a newsagent either. The I was WFH from the start of lockdown until I retired at the end of 2022. It saves companies money because they can get shot of their offices, and saves employees money because they no longer have to pay to commute. So that means more available money to spend in other ways than on petrol, and for companies the possibility of either better pay rises or other investment.
  19. Well put. My thoughts exactly.👍
  20. As it's raining, I thought I'd look at speaker corners. I brought some from a supplier and they are thin and weedy. So thought I'd design some of my own. Also the front of the speaker is slightly different to the rear of the speaker and a different design would benefit here as the baffle is recessed. The back speaker corners are more traditional These are all 5mm thick and around 60mm x 60mm. Other sizes may be done if enough interest. Mmmm.... after looking at the still printing one, 60x60mm may be too big. Its chunky Happy to print them out for free for a suitable donation to the North West Air Ambulance. I'll post pictures when they are on the speaker. Thanks Rob
  21. Selling my X 900 as its not getting any use, perfect working order not been used much.

  23. Clean, simple, elegant. Lovely 🙂
  24. Enviable. I'm all agog to look into some of these when my old work pension monies pop into my account
  25. Procell. If the clip is loose, it can be gently squeezed with a pair of pliers to make it tighter.
  26. Wow. A 15 year necro thread. That's a great Amp, an acquaintance had one of the Lynott (?) style ones. Awesome expensive and built like a bank vault
