Epiphone thunderbird classic pro, neck through with the Gibson USA TB pickups, nice and light at 8.5lbs. Lovely low action with a 38mm nut width it plays very nicely, a few minor marks here and there but still a really smart looking bass. Hard case with a key. The best of the Epi 'birds now discontinued. Pick up from Nr Plymouth, or courier at cost I guess around £20. Happy to drive an hour or so for a meet up if it's helpful.

These Graft basses are so good both aesthetically and from a playing POV. Most distressingly I am probably going to have to find a new home for mine pretty soon as my fingers are getting no better.

I think you have lost me Tim. Sure there are plenty of people doing very well in this economy. There are some very wealthy people without a doubt. Broadly speaking though the general impression I get is that there is a high degree of uncertainty and even people on decent wages are cutting back a little. For those on the margins - the precariate, the rapid increase in accommodation costs have made life much much harder. This is Bristol in 2025 where my property has gone up by 150% in 20 years: I am sure someone will tell me how rich I am. It’s my home. It makes no difference to me if it’s worth £50K or £850K!!! The only people benefiting from this are banks, governments and increasingly hedge funds. The rest of us just want somewhere to live. https://www.bristol.gov.uk/residents/people-and-communities/vehicle-dwellers-in-bristol

I've gone and done it again....... This time it's a Mesa Boogie
mikeswals replied to djk's topic in Amps and Cabs
I used to have a 1516 for 20 years. It was never a favorite cab, my Mesa 215 was my primary cab, and I would add the 1516 to it for bigger shows. Mine was the same era as yours from the late 80s: single 1/4" input and 3-way toggle for the horn (hi/off/low). Its a 4 ohm cab. It was never a 'master of anything' as the single EV15 didn't like alot of bottom end exertion, and despite the rating, those EVs can really only handle 200w and then fart out. I destroyed the 15 twice. I would leave the cab alone, don't cut it up. Like already mentioned, people do search for them, so just sell it. -

As did Stanley Clarke... Bootsy started in the 60s, as did Larry Graham... -
Plenty of folks here who started out on treble.

I was just messing, as I really can’t take this seriously 😊

Anderton's? They still have the "Black Friday" sale label, but yep, the price of the HNB3 has gone back uo from £399 to £499.

Shape can't be patented, only copyrighted and they lost that battle decades ago. Yup. PU type and position define the general characteristics of a P type to me, but sadly many will look and determine that a non-FSO is not a P even if they couldn't pick it blind from something else.

I also found my local off license (lovely people!) are now accepting Royal Mail deliveries which has helped them improve turnover and saved me a 20 minute trip to the post office. For small items it’s a brilliant system.

TBH, there's probably more human thought been put into the AI than some of the muzak/elevator music I've heard in my time. -

You can shim this bolt-on neckthrough, but it won't solve the problem unless you sand the upper part of the neck flat with the body so that the bridge sits flat again. This will work. PS: You can sand the part under the bridge only, which would allow a going back, in case it was necessary.

This. I've been able to get rid of a load of tat that I didn't need anymore with minimal effort on my part, especially when it came to working out the postage. I even made some money too.

One of these. Cort a5. Absolutely astonishing bass. So comfortable to play and sounds tremendous. It's quickly became my #1! -
AI music overtakes real band its modelled on
BigRedX replied to SteveXFR's topic in General Discussion
Before we all get worked up with our keyboard outrage, has anyone taken the time to actually listen to the two bands in question? Holding Absence are rather formulaic bland modern pop-rock so it's really no surprise that AI has supposedly been able to replicate their "style" of music. I'd be interested to know just why Lucas Woodland has decided that Bleeding Verse are copying his band and not the countless other real bands doing the same kind of music with rock guitars, keyboards and alternating melodic and screamo vocals? There's no real story there at all. I'm sure that Holding Absence have managed to get some more streams and maybe a few more fans, but it all smacks of publicity seeking to me.
