  2. Don’t really want to sell these basses, but the new band dictates I’ll be playing a lot more guitar so fancy getting a decent six string. With the building work costing fortunes - I don’t want to take any credit on or anything. Anyhow - these are Soloking MJ-1 basses. They look like Fender Roscoe Beck basses. They cover lots of different sounds. Roasted maple necks etc. They were in a blow out sale at Andertons for £150, I thought it rude not to. In typical “me” style, I had pickguards made by Earlpilanz on eBay and fitted badass bridges. They’ve been used for an album I’ve now scrapped…which is a real shame. The basses were bought for that band and now it’s gone bump - I don’t really want them anymore. One tiny mark on the headstock of the blue one. I’ve also sorted the annoying jack socket issue where you could only use skinny straight jacks. £200 without badass. Original pickguard and Bridge included £15 to ship in UK.

  4. Terry it's certainly not a competition to who's the biggest bass shop, it doesn't matter. Everyone seems to be doing ok so that's all that matters, so no more go under. We (Bassbros) offer the same returns policy, as required by law. On the email issue, I'm sorry if you haven't had a reply, we have had ongoing issues with our account which we're always trying to get on top of. Most emails seem to come through as we usually receive a large amount a day which we reply to, but it seems some may not be coming through (sometimes the 'sell your bass' page) . If you don't get a reply feel free to call us to check. Also we work flat out, there's only a couple of us here, so always doing the best we can working long days every day and just expanding the showroom currently on top of all the usual things. We sell around 1500 basses and guitars a year and ever growing so we have a massive turnover of instruments, with only a couple of us here it's a lot of work so aways doing the best we can. Thanks, Will - BassBros
  5. Such a neat idea! And obviously the combo can double up as a bass amp, if needed on separate occassions / home use. Super compact and portable too! It turns on its head the approach of the PA providing support to backline, working the other way around. Sub 40 Hz is pretty flubby anyway. Kick drum at 50 Hz is the big target here I would have thought? I guess a refinement might be to set cross over frequencies on the desk, directing the lower frequencies to the combo eg up to 100 Hz and everything above that to the PA tops? I've not seen this approach suggested elsewhere, but conceptually I love it. Be very interested to hear from a couple of our resident experts such as @Bill Fitzmaurice and @Phil Starr on why this is bad idea, before seeing if I can bag a used CMD121P (always wanted an excuse to get one, haha!)
  6. Does anyone have any experience of Reverb (the selling site) good or bad? I’m reluctant to list it on ebay as I’ve had far too many less than good experiences of ebay buyers 😏
  7. jimmy all your loving - ZZ top
  8. This is my favourite bass drive pedal, but I just got an Anagram so needs to go. It's a Rat based pedal, designed to emulated Justin Chancellor's tone. Comes with original box, price includes UK shipping.

  9. My favourite compressor. So simple to use and get great results that even a luddite like me can use it. Price includes UK shipping.
  10. I was up in Morecambe last week to give this a try. Sounded excellent! It's got some proper mojo. I had been concerned about the damage on the back of the neck but you cant feel it at all, or at least I couldn't. I opted to go with a 74 I found at a dealer. GLWTS mate, somebody needs to give this a good home!
  11. Jimmy Jimmy Jimmy (A man after midnight) - ABBA
  12. I am literally building a board right now with nothing but interesting filter pedals on it to plug into the stomp loop of my main board. This thing looks like it'd be a hoot to include on the board (which has space for it!) One question - where do you get hold of these compact jacks? I make my own cables, but I'll need to source a couple from somewhere. Put me down for one, happy to take the slightly imperfect one - drop me a DM with details on payment, etc Super sweet, love the video demo, if it's a clone of that, I wants it, I does!
  13. Anyone miss out on the limited Empress ParaEq MKII Deluxe Black release last year?
Bass Direct has one left in stock (I grabbed the other :D)

  14. Got these as a preemptive strike for my BB1100s, but much like riding a bike - fixing BB Machinehead cams is like second nature to me…no matter how long it’s been. So…here we go. a set of bb424/1024 Machineheads. You used to be able to buy these from BTN music for £18 a pop. Seems you can’t anymore. A direct drop in for 1980’s bb’s due to the screw holes. bb414-2024 and all models inbetween. they’re decent units for any fender type bass - tension adjustable etc. Any questions just ask.
  15. I got hit by this new eBay diktat too, but as acidbass says, there are ways around, the trouble is you have to remember to implement them when you’re doing the listing, rather than when the sale is made. Yet more mind-numbing admin, just so eBay can improve their margins…
  16. Didn't he need the full 34"
  17. GLWTS - I have one of these, and they really *really* come into their own when an expression pedal is plugged into them. The range of soloing synth noises is insane (the expression pedal gives a filter sweep), and the distortion can make some really good tones if followed by some modulations.
  18. Jacomaster ?
  19. I almost fell for the simple delivery annoyance ! I sold a small pedal , and something didn’t seem right . It only dawned on me when I went to print label etc . What I did was contact buyer and get his address, explaining that I’m sending via Royal Mail 24. No problem then , and I got perfect feedback . However, even after the buyer provided feedback I still got pesky automated notifications reminding me to post item 🤦‍♂️ The way things seem to be heading , I’ll probably remain a buyer but not a seller anymore . And I’m not buying anything from a seller that uses Evri !
  20. I have a spare BP-100 twin piezo I bought, in case of. What preamp you have ? Leduc put me first a bartolini one, and latter change it for, I don't know what. But not sure I prefer the new one, even if I'm not a fan of Batolini sound. Leduc is retired, but I hope still in activity for maintenance. I had it on phone a year ago and need to see him for maintenance my 4 string U Bass. I live in Paris, If you pass to Paris, we can see each other
  21. My Thunderstangbacker and Musicmaster J-fretless (need a better name!)
  22. Is this a case of 'Where there's a Will, there's a way'..? ... I'll get my coat.
  23. Today
  24. Great Amp, have one myself, Has 'Enough" power for acoustic sessions through a good cab. Valves easy to replace and relatively cheap. GLWTS
