  2. For sale as a continuation of my 5 string part out. Luthhier made, one piece Paduk neck, 21 fret well finished. Im unsure of the fretboard wood but it has a nice pronounced grain. It comes with a set of new Schaller machine heads for assured tuning stability. 46mm nut width and 72.5 heel width. Notably tje truss rod cover hasn't been put in the correct geometric place but the rod and opening are. One of the screw holes is off set as per fitting to previous body. Postage at cost, UK Only please. Cheers Craig.
  3. The personal trainer bit is good advice. I had lots of support after a motorbike injury 18 years ago and I still use the training plan. Always speak with a medical professional and best of luck.
  4. Hi Alex, All these recommendations on here will serve you well, however, avoid the Vovox cables. Snake oil at best. To start with, especially in an instrument cable the most important part is the cable. Whether is low loss or ease of coiling. The other thing to keep in mind is length. I sell three types, Sommer Tricone 2, Sommer Tricone XXL and Sommer Spirit LLX. Over 6 metres I would always use the Spirit LLX, it is very low loss and coils really well. It is a bit thicker than the other two, but that is the price you pay for low capacitance, low loss. The upside is it is so easy to coil. Up to 6 metres, you can choose either of the other two. The Tricone 2 is a nice cable and recommended for general use, the Tricone is slightly stiffer and as a result does not twist or tangle as easily as others. Connectors, for instruments, if you want a cable to last, use Neutrik Jacks. They use conductors that are made from a single piece of metal. One of the biggest failures in jack plugs/cables is riveted plugs. If you are going to be a bit rough with your cables, chucking them about etc, avoid Silent Plugs. XLR/ Balanced cables. By using balanced cables, you avoid many of the issues of the ones noted above for instrument leads. Again Neutrik make the best XLR connectors, although the choice of make is not so crucial here. For cable, I stock two types, Cobra, a budget cable and Sommer Stage 22 thinner than the Cobra and slightly better specified. I will send you an instrument lead price list later, and can give you a quote for XLR cables once you tell me your exact requirements.
  5. Weakness in the hands suggests it could be carpel tunnel related, but pain around the elbow could also be tennis elbow. I used to suffer from tennis elbow quite a bit, despite not having played tennis for over 40 years. I found that an Epicondylitis clasp like this helped, in fact I still carry one in my gig bag just in case. Like @Burns-bass my elbow (and knee, and back) issues disappeared once I started using the gym regularly with a personal trainer.

  7. You should consider yourself lucky. My Ibanez SRF705 has three volume controls, one for neck, one for bridge, and one for piezo bridge. They put a blend on the Ashula 2, would it really have hurt them to put one on the Portamento too? One day I will get round to wiring in the blend pot I have sitting on my desk, if I don't lose it first...

  9. If you have an irrational fear of cables, go wireless.
  10. They won’t I’m afraid because the silks will run over the nut.
  11. Foderas rank among the best-playing basses I've ever put my hands on. The necks, the setup... absolutely sublime. They practically play themselves. But you're right. They're tame-sounding. They're very clear and detailed, but are lacking in heft, for want of a better word. The lows and low mids just aren't thick enough to work in a heavy-sounding band. I'm sure they'll make you one with thicker-sounding pickups, but I've yet to play one.
  12. Purchased at the end of March this year, in mint condition, used a few times but just not for me. Comes complete with genuine Boss soft carry case and Boss power adapter. Will also chuck in the USB cable which you can use to connect to a PC. £200 plus postage from the I.O.W

  13. Don't forget, you mustn't have the clip-on tuner clipped on while on stage, or the Basschat Taste Police will be down on you like a ton of bricks. And I advise against mentioning buying a music stand.
  14. For sale, In very good used condition and Schaller 5 string bridge in black with movable saddles to adjust string spacing. Comes complete with height adjustment spacer to add flexibility. Nearly new with minimal use. Uk Postage included. Cheers.
  15. For sale, Im currently parting out a project bass and these are first up. Installed for a few weeks but didn't sit well with the Bass they were in. Lots of wire left on em. Seem to retail for 240ish so seems a fair price. No box sadly. Postage included to UK addresses. Cheers.

I'm going to audition one. Sweetwater got them back in stock, so I snagged one. If I like it, I keep it and sell some other stuff, if I don't, I send it back. Does it have instructions about how to do neural captures?

  19. It’s a thick, gnarly, and harmonically rich fuzz … Based on the Tall Font Green Russian/ Civil War Muff circuit … So strong with that mix friendly mid character, and retaining the low end that makes this particular Muff so bass-friendly. This one is indeed bass friendly. There’s something more to this pedal though. The secret sauce is in the tone sweep. As DBA put it … “A specially designed multi-curve shaping filter which changes the timbre of the pedal from super deep bass sludge to screaming highs”. This makes for something more versatile than your average 3-knob Muff, sure. It’s killler. Plenty love for it out there anyway. Check the reviews. TRADE OPTIONS * : Dunlop DVP3 Mini MXR Bass Envelope Filter EBOW Plus (* cash adjustment as necessary)
  20. Beautifully crafted delay pedal from Walrus Audio, tactile, with a really intuitive control set … feature rich, but simple to use. It’s a piece of kit that invites creativity. Works very well with bass guitar. No mud at all. The quality in this pedal is obvious to the ear … But hey, there are many fine words about the Arp87 around internetland if you do some trawling. Royal Mail ‘Signed For’ postage is included in price (UK only). TRADE OPTIONS * : Dunlop DVP3 Mini MXR Bass Envelope Filter EBOW Plus ( * cash adjustment as necessary)
  21. One of the harder to find pedals from the increasingly collectible 7 Series Tonelok range. It’s an excellent phaser for bass, with a wide array of control options that allow you to the scope to craft a useable mix-friendly phase tone. The effect operates at unity, with no lift nor drop in volume, and no loss of low end whatsoever. Though fundamentally a phaser, the PM7’s modulation capabilities can extend to territories way beyond the norm. The control set achieves the following … Speed: adjusts the speed of the vibrations. They become faster the more this is turned to the right. Depth: adjusts the depth of the vibrations. They become deeper the more this is turned to the right. Manual: Adjusts the level of the phase-shifted tone. The level is increased and the effect strengthened the more this is turned to the right. Feedback: Adjusts the amount of feedback. Turning this to the right applies normal-phase feedback, and turning it to the left applies inverted-phase feedback. In either case, the sound will become more distinctive. Mode 1/2/3: Selects from three types of phases … - 4-stage phaser with invertedphase mix. Vintage sound. - 6-stage phaser with invertedphase mix. Deep phasing sound. - 6-stage phaser with normal-phasemix. Deep phasing sound. Waveform: Selects the modulation waveform (the "shape" of modulation). - Triangle wave: Produces conventional phaser sounds. - Square wave. Produces step-sequencer-like sounds. - High-frequency wave. Produces sounds like a ring modulator or FM synthesizer. The Ibanez 7 Series pedals are the bomb. The Maxon engineers were thinking outside the box, to be sure. Have a listen to the opinion of Josh Scott (JHS) about this. Royal Mail ‘Signed For’ postage is included in price (UK only). 22. If you like drones, long, Indefinitely held notes or passages, to sculpt, build and move between layers, morph ambient textures … in their own right, to solo over, or to underpin a multi layer bass part … Then one of these is worth looking at. It does everything the Freeze does, but so much more. Most notable for me was its own effects loop, and the possibilities for signal chain placement and the potentially endlessly added depths to the frozen effect that the loop affords, whilst keeping your realtime bass licks otherwise unaffected, if so desired. The options and degree of functionality are wild. It’s an extremely versatile and powerful creative tool that opens a world of musical possibilities. Check out the YouTube bass demos, and EHX product info … It’s deep. I must say … I love this pedal, and wouldn’t be selling it had I not recently acquired a Superego + Royal Mail ‘Signed For’ postage is included in price (UK only).
