    I owned the BP1 Compact but didn't like the tone as much as its big brother. The compact has a very different tone with a significant bump in the lower mids.

    PS, its pictured with La Bella Mustang Superpolished strings (a recently introduced sort of flat/round hybrid). I decided I preferred the regular Mustang flats which are now back on the bass. However, I am happy to throw in the Superpolished set as part of the deal, so you have options.

    I cannot offer anything concrete, but I noticed that on TalkBass the estate of Rick Jones does seem to be giving out schematics of the AI heads to repair companies. I don't know under what circumstances they do this. Also in the same thread there's someone who replaced the Ice Power module of a Clarus head. Good luck with it all.     What I meant is that “strange” might not be the right word and may cause confusion. What I wanted to say is that a cab can be FRFR, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it will sound cold or sterile. With the Monza that’s definitely not the case, and I find that remarkable and very pleasant.

    In general I use the Shape function, then back off on the lowest frequencies to suit the venue. I know a lot of people aren’t keen on the Shape but it suits me nicely.

    I don’t think, in all my years of playing bass, that I’ve ever played through any SWR gear. Nothing to do with the gear itself, just none of the bands I’ve gear-shared with had any.
