It's hard to say without a lot more detail but putting a sub next to a wall is going to effectively double it's output on top of the reinforcement from the floor. I think having any mic within a foot of a sub is going to create issues. The sound coming from the sub may not sound very loud but at those frequencies the mic 'hears' better than you do. All of the sound from the sub is omnidirectional The tops point most of the sound away from the mics but behind the subs is just as loud as in front. Using subs isn't as easy as plug and play, be prepared to turn them right down, keep them well away from any mics and consider whether you need to use HPF. It may sound counter-intuitive to filter the bass from your subs but if sound below 50Hz is causing feedback problems and sets off room resonances it has to go. Percevere and you'll get there

I needed one of these last year but couldn't find anyone selling them locally. Shops said they're not worth stocking as they're so cheap and demand is very low. I ended up getting one from All Parts for 50p plus £3 postage. -
The Guykers are fine, just needed some to replace the plastic tat knobs on my Ibanez. RE The Uni Pre - I was looking to buy a new preamp for a bass with 6 existing holes (I have a 4k Uni pre in another bass and like it) but with the active/passive on a switch instead of push/pull. After gigging it a bit I quite like the stock Markbass preamp though so I'm just leaving it as it is at the moment.

There was a very interesting edition of All About The Bass [I think it was the one comparing lots of outboard Preamps] I watched the other day, where the supposedly 'funny man' who sits in between Lee & Cici actually mentioned that "Jazz basses need a little help" and took the bass and treble up to about 2 o'clock. This makes the whole thing sound richer and punchier, without really accentuating the 'scoop'. Good quality passive Jazz basses usually have very natural low mids and the active ones do sound empty if they're not present. I use the same method of eq-ing my passive Jazzes and usually get fantastically rich sounding results.

How was Your rehearsal last morning or night ?

The SLF songs we play go down the best too - The Edge, Nobody's Hero, Alternative and Tin Soldiers. As I start Valley, it gives our guitarist chance to put his capo on for it..... -
Not been in the Cherry Tree since late 80's / early 90's too. Wasn't my fav pub to be honest. I had a few run ins with the locals when i was in my late teens and they tended to frequent it. 😂 Have you tried Girdwoods in Wishaw. Played it a few times with punk band and can be a good night. Dave

Sounds a lot better with the drop D. Lot more depth if your singer can do it. Its a 2 second retune to be honest. Loved playing Tommy Gun but SLF songs were my fav punk songs. We did Alternative Ulster, Gotta Gettaway, At The Edge, Nobody's Hero. We grouped Into Valley, Complete Control and Alternative Ulster at the end of the set. Encores being One Way or Another and Pretty Vacant. I do miss playing the punk songs even tho i was never a punk fan. Just so much energy in the songs. Dave - Today

HELP! EBS Microbass II - B channel massive volume drop

Are you testing it using the XLR, or with an amp, or with headphones directly plugged in? I've found it behaves very strangely with different headphones. I've ended up using it as a one channel preamp/DI as well - i haven't had the same problem as you, but I struggle to get a good balance between the channels. -

I have spent the last few posts wondering why punk bands were playing a Donald Fagen song. Off to Spotify to find that UK Subs also have a song of that name - which makes a lot more sense 😄 @mikebass456 - a tenner if you open your set with this one: -
I’m having a big clear out of basses, strings and pedals. Pretty much anything that I am no longer going to be using so that I can reduce my collection to just 1 main bass, a back up and the pedals that I need. I have always loved single coil P basses but I am never going to have the opportunity to play this live so I may as well let it go to a good home. Used for 1 gig in 2023, it's pretty much in mint condition, right down to the fact that the plastic is still on the scratchplate. It also comes fitted with a set of Ernie Ball 2810 flats that I had already bought for a 5 string. Collection preferred but I am happy for you to arrange a courier as I have plenty of packaging materials to ensure that this is well packed.

I’m having a big clear out of basses, strings and pedals. Pretty much anything that I am no longer going to be using so that I can reduce my collection to just 1 main bass, a back up and the pedals that I need. Bought brand new earlier this year I think 🤔 this is a 2023 Fender Player Precision, going by the serial number, in Seafoam Green with Pau Ferro fretboard. I fancied a set of Bartolinis after watching a video with Freddie Washington so went the whole hog and paired them with a Six String Supplies prewired solderless harness. I wanted to have the option to return the bass to stock if needs be so I removed the original scratchplate with the pots still intact, even going as far as to remove the bridge to allow me to thread the earth wire through without having to desolder it. This is a replacement scratchplate that I bought for it. I also had a set of Hipshot Licenced Ultralites so fitted these as well. I don’t actually think it has left the house since I bought it and as such is in mint condition. Although it’s not one I’ve gigged, I am going to miss it. It’s such a stunning looking bass. The weight of this lovely bass is 8.2lbs. I have a few options depending on what the buyer wants: For the bass as you see it, along with the original tuners, pickups, scratchplate, case candy and a brand new gig bag I would like £600 £550 gets you either the Ultralites or the Bartolini pickup included – plus the gig bag and original parts depending on what option you go for. £500 for the bass returned to stock, still including the brand new gig bag.

I bought this immediately prior to taking a year out from playing so it's never seen a gig since I bought it and still has whatever flatwounds were on it when I bought it. I had one of these bass in the early 90s and fancied another. Plus it was a cheap way to remind myself that I'm not very good on fretless and to stop eyeing up other fretless basses on the marketplace 😂 It has marks here and there consistent with a 34 year old bass and the volume and tone controls are a bit scratchy but I never noticed any noise when playing, only if you let a note ring out and then turn those controls. I will be supplying a gig bag with this as it didn't come with one. Looking at all of the other basses I'm listing it looks like I must have bought a job lot of Thomann gig bags as they appear next to each bass 🤔😁 I think that this is the lightest bass I have coming up for sale at a positively featherweight 7.8lbs. Collection preferred but I am happy for you to arrange a courier as I have plenty of packaging materials to ensure that this is well packed.
